kraken613
Im just wondering. Ive looked at pictures of the one aquatrax but what sets it apart from other coasters?
missingmusician
It's basically Intamin's version of a Water Coaster.
Airtime&Gravity
It is basically a high tech water coaster produced by Intamin, and the only one built is like a highly themed LIM/LSM launched coaster in South Korea. There isn't really anything that sets it apart from other coasters, and it was just a joke on the site when everyone was guessing what Maverick would be. RIP Psyclone
It really seems to be nothing more than a steel coaster that "kinda goes near water, and maybe makes a splash." Yet somehow it has become its own category of coasters, even though there is only one. The fact that it is on a track the entire time I feel makes it even less noteworthy than the JTA family of rides.
kraken613
I dont get the point of it sice it dosnt really go into the water just really close.
FLIPDUDE
^Again, that what makes it weird, and a joke.
kraken613
Well that construction at Cedar Point this year is for the Aquatrax since everyone was dissapointed Maverick wasnt one. Right?
FLIPDUDE
^Lol, I don't htink so. 1) I don't know if CP even knows what's going on in these forums. 2) They're not gonna base million dollar decisions on what people thought theyw ere gonna build 3) They just opened Maverick, which is their 17th coaster, this year, plus Magic Mountain isn't building nay new coasters, so I don't see CP getting a new coaster for a while. They're pretty landlocked anyhow. 4) I'm not sure people were dispapointed Maverick wasn't an Aquatrax. It turned out being a ride many people ocunt as the best coaster they've been on. All Clear
... I don't see CP getting a new coaster for a while. They're pretty landlocked anyhow. And what with the peninsula sinking and all--the weight of one more coaster would take Millie down within just a few more months.
Gav
So what can an aquatrax do that other launched coasters cant?
FLIPDUDE
^Give the illusion of being a water ride. ^^What?
TheRapidsNerd
Thank you! Been wondering about the whole Aquatrax thing. I thought it was one of those waterslide/coaster hybrids that shoots you uphill or a Buzzsaw Falls deal. I am forever changed. Well, time for Dorito crackers...
