FlyingScooter Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 http://www.wusatv9.com/news/news_article.aspx?storyid=40220 Unbelievable.
Sir Clinksalot Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 At least it was outside the park. That's not much of a consolation, I'll admit.
PhishyBrewer Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 What the hell man! No wonder park attendance is down nation wide, people are afraid to go to an amusement park.
FlyingScooter Posted June 6, 2005 Author Posted June 6, 2005 I use to volunteer at a tuturoing center for court refered juvy's. This incident happened like ten years ago. One kid wound up in the courts by going to geauga lake with a handgun. the gun slid out of his pants when he was on the rotor. The op noticed it and kept the ride going til the cops got there...
CoasterEricHP Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 Who would pay $10 to shoot someone? Do it outside the parking lot.. alright.. all stupid comments aside.. I used to go to SFA a few times a year (mainly to get a season pass and ride Wild One, ROar, and S:ROS quickly) but I never feel safe at this park... and rarely have a "good" time... unless of course you go with very low expectations and make fun of the ride op's "F'ing this and F'ing that".. in front of CHILDREN. Plus the normal Six Flags feel of poor service, rides not running, line jumpers.. hell I've even tried three times to see the Batman show and never once have they made it beyond the first scene. Oh well, I'll strap on some Kevlar and head down to get a cheap season pass to go to other SF parks, or hang out at my PA parks instead! Can't lose. Eric
coasterzak Posted June 6, 2005 Posted June 6, 2005 This reminds me of the day at SFDL two years ago when they busted a man for trying to come in with an assault rifle into the off the mic tour. No joke, not even 10 minutes later, 50 Cent pulls up in a stretch hummer. Go figure...
Gregory DG Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 What the frick? Did this happen INSIDE the park? Don't they have metal detectors?
Angry_Gumball Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 The news video says that it happened in the parking lot. Some peeps in the park saw a load of security from the tops of the slides in the waterpark.
phazan Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 i dont see why everyone was scared just because it there was a gun fight in the parking lot. its not like they were trying to kill guest.

That maybe true, but who's to say for example. You are in the park, and a bullet wizzed pass your head by 2 inchs, but it was intended for one of the gun-fighting-idiots in the parking lot, are you telling me that you wouldn't be scared or worried?? people are gonna be scared when things like that happen, because dorks like those guys in the parking lot as well as guns are very unpredictable...anything could have happened, they could have shot the people at the top of the water slide or even the park operator at the top as well. Thing like this is so damn tryflin' that it ain't even serious.
GAcoaster Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 I object to the name of this topic "Another Shooting at Six Flags" When has there been another shooting at a Six Flags park? I know there was a shooting at PKD, and I know there have been other incidents at Six Flags parks, but to the best of my knowledge, this is the first shooting at a Six Flags, and even then, it's a shooting in the parking lot and not in the park itself. Almost all of the events that happen at parks get blown out of proportion. While I agree, it's terrible that someone was injured by a shot fired, he was not actually shot.
Angry_Gumball Posted June 8, 2005 Posted June 8, 2005 I can't exactly recall (or seem to find a site with what happened) but I do believe that a shooting has happened in SFMW's parking lot too a while back leaving someone seriously injured.
