JT3000 Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 I figured it was time to start a thread for this since info has started to trickle out. http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/deadsilence.html Expect a movie-based event this year. It will take place at Universal Studios Florida. Other rumored houses include Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and The Thing. There might be a certain clown involved as well... Current plans include eight houses and up to four shows. No parade. All of this information is subject to change.
freestylenut Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 OMG, that looks awesome and I haven't missed an HHN for 13 years...why miss one now right? For the record, that DVD (Dead Silence) just came out today! Gonna have to give this an immediate rental. Where did U read 8 Houses & 4 shows? I skimmed through the site & didn't see anything!
thefitness Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Where did you get this link? If you go onto the Universal website and click on the HHN link you still get the same teaser page...nothing to do with Dead Silence. I could be wrong, but I don't think this is real...I'm gonna go check out HHN Vault.

I could be wrong, but I don't think this is real...I'm gonna go check out HHN Vault. True dat! I swam my way through the Universal site and got the same generic HHN site! Ack, what a tease! The link seems pretty legit. After all. halloweenhorrornights.com? Is this a link to what will be posted shortly? Hmmm.... Dead Silence deals with Dolls & Ventroloquist dummies...it'd be nice to see a house themed with this!
thefitness Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 I just looked at it a little closer. Go to the Universal site, then click on HHN under Annual Events. Once the HHN page come up delete the /Orlando ect. so you should just end up with http://www.halloweenhorrornights.com/ look in a the left corner near the pictures.
Ghost Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 The year I'll be there (again) After missing out next year (and for sure I will have to miss out next year) I'll be there for this year. With a bit of luck for 2 nights. However, I did notice that the Thurday express tickets are over $60... so it might be 1 night only... will see
Ryan King Posted June 26, 2007 Posted June 26, 2007 Man! From what you said it may sound like a Kick-ass HHN this year!! Ive ALWAYS LOVED the movie "The Thing" It will be cool to see this develop into something reall exciting (HHN 17 I mean) -Ryan
JT3000 Posted June 26, 2007 Author Posted June 26, 2007 Where did U read 8 Houses & 4 shows? I skimmed through the site & didn't see anything! It isn't on the site. Most of the info came from other sources. I've been hearing this stuff for a while now, I just waited until now to post anything because the Dead Silence page confirms what I've been hearing.
noyzz Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I'll be getting my tix as it gets closer.....Plus if they do anything with the movie Dead Silence...man the lady in that movie was scary........bwhaaaaaaaaa
Thrasher Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 I'm so excited about this years event. If the link is legit, then I'm pretty disappointed that they are not holding the event in both parks. I just hope I will still be in Orlando.
ghostrider455 Posted June 27, 2007 Posted June 27, 2007 The event is in hollywood and orlando just like last year. Also it seems that both parks will have the same theme. Also freddy, jason, and leatherface involvement has been confirmed. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business/custom/tourism/orl-bk-universal062707,0,5761726.story?coll=orl_tab01_layout
JT3000 Posted June 27, 2007 Author Posted June 27, 2007 They've been added to the HalloweenHorrorNights.com homepage.
thefitness Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I think Universal really made a bold move using these characters. Most people love them or hate them. It's going to be interesting to see how this year's event turns out.
HCONerd Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 I love the idea of classic villains being put into mazes. There's something about it that just has the biggest appeal to me. I don't know what, either. My take on it is that it will be a hit or miss type of thing, I expect it to be more of a hit, though. This year looks like it'll be great.
thefitness Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 The word going around the Vault is Jack might be back, and the horror icons(Freddy,Jason, Leatherface) will be his sideshow freaks in a Carnival/Circus. Go check out how the posters look on the HHN page. They look like they are advertising performers in a Circus/Sideshow to me. EDIT: This IS just a rumor...right now I beleive it though.
freestylenut Posted June 28, 2007 Posted June 28, 2007 The more I read on HHN 17, the HOTTER this thing looks like it might turn out. Trying not to have the expectations TOO high...but I can't help it! Dead Silence, Freddy, Jason, Leatherface, Woo Hoo!!!
JT3000 Posted July 10, 2007 Author Posted July 10, 2007 Here's a rumor from Screamscape: Universal Orlando is holding auditions for musical theater performers for a show featuring characters inspired by Rocky Horror Picture Show. And here's an advertisement with this year's possible tagline.
freestylenut Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 Man, if I lived in Orlando, I'd be ALL over the audition. I'm sure "returning" scarers have their audition coming up soon since Busch Garden's HOS is THIS Saturday 7/14 (which I'm planning on attending). I'm dying to know what house they might stick me in at HOS.
ghostrider455 Posted July 10, 2007 Posted July 10, 2007 The reunion auditions are today, so I'm sure we will get more info about hhn today.
Coasterbp Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I went to the auditions yesterday and unfortunately, they were very cryptic this year as to house names. All that was available was locations and even them were sort of cryptic. A lot of people went home after auditions not knowing if they were cast, and those that did get cast, like myself, don't know if we are cast in houses or streets. We were told that we would be called in two weeks. This is VERY different from years past in that you would at least know if you were house or street by the end of the audition.... More to come! -=BP
thefitness Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 ^Thanks for the small update on what's going on. From what I heard, every other year you pretty much knew if you were working in a house or street and its theme. Congrats on being a 2007 ScareActor!

More to come! -=BP Wow, I'm amazed. Honestly, that would either make or break me, I personally prefer INSIDE a house than be a street scarer (I feel better & safer in the tighter house spaces, unlike some who like the wide openness of the street). I'll report back after this weekend's audition (even though its not necessarily HHN related).
Adrenaline_Rush Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I'd like the house too. I mean you are constantly scaring people. And they GIVE you places to hide. Outdoors you have to look for your prey, and then sneak up on them, and if you do it wrong you will get caught. And I just like the atmosphere of being inside better than the outside, its creepier but its a CONTROLLED scare, its not random. And indoors they have more stuff to do like you can use the theming i.e bang on a barrel, hide in stairs etc. etc. I cant wait to turn 18 and audition for HHN 22 LOL.
