coasterbear30 Posted May 25, 2007 Posted May 25, 2007 We started the last day of our trip at Universal Studios Florida around 10 am Sunday morning. We decided to hit this park first as it only had two credits. We made a B-line to Mummy and received our first credit of the day. Universal has a winner on their hands, we felt. This ride can only be described as "SICK"! The theming of the queue was amazing. The sudden launches, turns and drops were astounding and unexpected. Add to that the special effects of water, fire, animatronics and video, this was by far the best ride at this park. We quickly traversed over to Woody Woodpecker's Nuthouse kiddie coaster to finalize our credits at this park. We then headed next door to Islands of Adventure and immediately got in line for Hulk. As the day before at BGT, the lines were very short here. The line for the front row proved to only be a 20 minute wait. Proving that this is his favorite coaster, the Hulk's launch system still pleases Scott everytime. It definitely went into Rob's top 5 ranking too. Next we grabbed a nice (but over-priced) frozen alcoholic beverage in Jurassic Park. You've gotta LOVE Florida parks!!! Again, the lines being extremely short, we hit Dueling Dragons. We started with Fire in the second row and then moved over to the front row on Ice. Ice proved to be the favorite of the two. The kiddie coaster, Flying Unicorn, was the longest line of the day at 40 minutes. We unfortunately missed a credit on Pteranodon Flyers as the line was 60 minutes in the blistering hot sun. Uh, no thanks. We intended to eat at the famous Mythos but apparently new hours prevented us from enjoying the cuisine. We missed closing by 30 minutes! Instead we settled for Enchanted Oak. We stood in line for Posiedon's Fury for 45 minutes before deciding it was a waste of time and left. We headed back to Superhero Island and went quickly through the line for Spiderman. Absolutely one of the best motion-simulated flat rides ever created! We also grabbed a ride on Storm Force and spun ourselves into a dizzying stupor. We hit one more ride on Hulk before heading back to Universal. We ended the day with a disappointing ride on Twister and Earthquake. Rob says "Other than Mummy, Universal Studios sucked a**!" (See picture below.)
coasterbear30 Posted May 29, 2007 Author Posted May 29, 2007 I love how we put up this trip report and no one even commented on it at all. Thanks guys. Makes us feel loved for all our hard work!
FlippyTrick09 Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 It was a good TR... Thanks for posting. Since it says GA/FL coaster trip, will yall be hitting up Wild Adventures?
coasterbear30 Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 We did go to Wild Adventures. Look for the trip report, Day One. You can look it up by my posts. Thanks!
Erik Johnson Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 You would not have been able to earn the P. Flyers credit anyways, since its restricted in that you have to have a kid ride with you. The only way you can get the credit now is to ride it within the first 15 to 20 minutes after park opening. They lift the restriction during that time.
pianojohn Posted May 31, 2007 Posted May 31, 2007 Hopefully with the Harry Potter overlay, they will upgrade/tear down/ do SOMETHING with the Pteranodon Flyers. I got to ride it back in 1999 during previews and never since. I mean...who puts the LOWEST capacity ride in a park with HUGE numbers?? Anyway, fun trip report!
KrakenKing Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 So... Rob and Scott... I'm gonna be meeting you. You just don't know who I am, but I know who you are See you (Possibly) tonight, or next weekend at SFoG
coasterfreak80 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 Well, Rob; it appears that our first trip report was only a success in our eyes. I'm shocked by the low ratio of views to posts. "BOO" to all of you who read our 3 day trip report and didn't even bother to say "THIS SUCKED" or "THIS WAS GREAT"!!!
sfne2005 Posted June 1, 2007 Posted June 1, 2007 As far as a low number of responses, maybe it has to do with the large number of IOA TRs already here. Its got nothing to do with you personally (I think) "Vertical loop orgasm...for Dan." ......and did you mean Derek or someone else you were referring to? Derek is the one who gets the vert loop shoutouts.
coasterbear30 Posted June 3, 2007 Author Posted June 3, 2007 Oh well, the Pteranodon flyers would have been nice to get a credit on, but it's not that big of a deal. Thanks for the comment Piano John. Kraken King, identify yourself! How do you know us? SFNE, its not like we didn't hit other parks though. Almost no one commented on any of the reports. And yes, we did mean Derek and I noticed it after we posted, oh well, I am sure that most people knew who we were talking about.
alpengeist04 Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 I don't know how I missed your thread, since it never gets old looking at pics of my favorite park. Great job and thanks for the TR.
