ghost007jas Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Hey guys, I will be taking my first trip to Cedar Point this June. We leave to the point on the 24th spend three days at the park and then leave the 28th. We will be staying at Castaway Bay all three nights and... I think thats about it.. I did have a few questions however (hence why I am posting this thread). Will I get into the park an hour early? What are some rides I should hit first thing? What are some good places to get food, for say lunch? Is there anything to do after the park has closed? (In the resort area) Any replies would be appreciated! -Jake
Airtime&Gravity Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 Yes you will be able to get in to the park early as you are staying at one of the parks hotels. I'd head to Maverick first since it will be new, and it will get long lines fast. MF and TTD are other coasters to hit really early or really late. Go eat at Famous Dave's, it's by the marina, but the park has some good typical amusement food. Sadly there is not much to do in the area except for the Lake Erie Island state park and carousel museum both of which are in Sandusky.
ghost007jas Posted May 17, 2007 Author Posted May 17, 2007 Alright thanks! So there is absolutely nothing on the peninsula?
Carnage Posted May 17, 2007 Posted May 17, 2007 ^ There's some nice houses, that's about it. To be honest the area goes to hell right as you get away from Cedar Point. Sandusky is a total dive of a city. Whenever I go I'll go into Sandusky to eat, but other then that I stay in my hotel room.
orangecats2 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 if you were hoping for a club or dancing you would have to go into downtown cleveland for that. it's an hour drive. there are some cool places in the flats and warehouse district if you are willing to make the drive. the only other idea is to go to the bar at fridays or another place like that.
Carnage Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 ^ He's 15. I don't think bars or clubs are going to be of interest to him.
coasterguy618 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Lol that is so wierd. That is the exact same date I will be at Cedar Point.
orangecats2 Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 sorry, i didn't look at his age. there is an african safari in sandusky. but basically the whole peninsula IS cp. anyway they close at 10 so i would just go to a restaurant for something and then rest up for the next day.
robbalvey Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 Going to move this to the main forum since we haven't been to Cedar Point since 2003, maybe some people who have been more recently can help. --Robb
FeelTheFORCE Posted May 28, 2007 Posted May 28, 2007 I did have a few questions however (hence why I am posting this thread). Will I get into the park an hour early? Yes, you will. Be there early, though, because there are more people there to get in early than you would think. What are some rides I should hit first thing? Maverick, Millennium Force, TTD, and Raptor. What are some good places to get food, for say lunch? In the park there's Macaroni's and in the breakers there is a TGI Friday's. Is there anything to do after the park has closed? (In the resort area) No, not really, challenge park is open an hour after the park closes (mini golf and go karts). Any replies would be appreciated! -Jake
