robbalvey Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 http://www.nintendo.com/newsarticle?articleid=5aa8631e-d4a0-45d9-a88c-e5931b807091 Here is what makes me VERY happy about this console: - Backwards compatible to the GameCube - Online downloadable N64, SNES, and NES games. - Plays DVDs (finally!!!) - Cool Nintendo Games! This was cool sounding: Revolution will have downloadable access to 20 years of fan-favorite titles originally released for Nintendo 64, the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) and even the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). So yeah.... --Robb "Post your thoughts!" Alvey
CoasterCrazy Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 I'm going to buy a Nintendo Revolution because you will be able to play games from the last 20 years. From what I have seen I will be buying a Ps3 and Nintendo Revolution. I have an Xbox and I haven't played it in about 4 months, so I don't see any reason to buy a Xbox 360.
Homer Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 Hey, you can't forget the fact that... THERES GOING TO BE AN ONLINE SMASH BROS. AS A LAUNCH TITLE. Sorry, E3 excitement got to me... but I am DEFINITELY going to get this on launch day.
Token Yankee Guy Posted May 17, 2005 Posted May 17, 2005 the Nintento Revolution looks like a portable CD-Rom. But big kudos points for Nintento finally allowing DVD's to play on their news console.
Meteornotes Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 I think the coolest feature is the ability to download and play all the old games. Curious to see the pricing on these, though. Damn, all these new systems look pretty cool. I'm going to have a big stack of consoles next to the TV... dt
Angry_Gumball Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Online Super Smash Bros, eh? Sounds good to me! I'll just use my wireless internet router for it to connect to the internet. I wonder what it's price tag is going to be? I also like the idea of backwards compatability to the point you can play SNES games and stuff. Lastly, I like it's design. Reminds me of a new age PS2.
CoasterFanatic Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 I am with Dave. I would love to get this systems in order to have a nice compact and flawless way of playing the "old-school" games, but I too am curious what the pricing structure will be for said games. // ain't paying $20 for Super Mario Bros
Hattuchili Posted May 18, 2005 Posted May 18, 2005 Wow, that sounds awesome. I love my Game Cube, and can´t wait to get the new console. --Soeren
COOOOLkid Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 This is cool! Also, I've heard something about Nintendo Nexus... What exactly is that?
SharkTums Posted May 19, 2005 Posted May 19, 2005 Not exactly sure, but from a quick search on Google, it looks like it might have just been the rumored name for the Revolution. Elissa "nintendo girl!" Alvey
