coasterdude5 Posted May 14, 2005 Posted May 14, 2005 I recently completed VertiShock, a pulley/tower ride that is about 2 1/2 stories tall. I attached 2 different pullies to a high branch. Then I attached a swing seat to one end and a PVC pipe to the other(to pull with). It is so fun and a really awesome ride. I'll have pictures within today or tommorow.
timetrial3141592 Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Backyard park!? Can we see pictures of the other rides?
socalMAN123 Posted May 15, 2005 Posted May 15, 2005 Sounds awesome! I want to make backyard rides, but we can't because 1. Not enough room 2.Not enough money ---Brent 8)
coasterdude5 Posted May 15, 2005 Author Posted May 15, 2005 I'm going to make a "TR" of the park in a couple of days. Most of the other rides are like modified swings and slides. The train is just some wagons pulled by a mini tractor.
vertgforces Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 I'm always thinking about making my own backyard park...but i'm too lazy to think of ideas for it
ebl Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 I used to turn my back yard into an "amusement park" when I was about 10. There wasn't much there, but I had wheelbarrow or shopping cart rides (human powered---by me!), a haunted house type attraction, a spinning barstool ride, and a petting zoo (the dog!). Eric
Token Yankee Guy Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 I had jack-shit in the back of my backyard...We had a swing set w/ a wooden slide, then we have the tree house which is not structurally sound anymore...thats it.
benzo41190 Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 I ride my bike around and make certain rides, differnt coaster types go like: -hang you feet off=floorless -standing up=stand up and it goes on...........
Angry_Gumball Posted May 16, 2005 Posted May 16, 2005 At my friend's house we built a ghetto coaster using 2 bed rails and a red wagon. The wagon was towed to the top without the riders, then they were strapped in by a chain and padlock and released. It was pretty fun as you felt like it was going out of control. We also had a ginormous swing that was pulled by a rope below. I reached rooftop heights while losing my stomach. Lastly, here at my house I built the "Skateboard" ride by propping plywood on some crates and ride the skateboard on my butt down when I was younger. We attempted a second hill but my uncle came out and told us to take it down before someone gets hurt...that sucked. Lastly, I had a bed freefall ride only I experienced. My cousin sat on the top of the bed and tied a blanket or rope around me, lift me up (He was strong enough) and at the last second he released me as I fell onto a hard floor...it hurt. Never again!
Diamondbacker27 Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 This was 9 years ago Can we see your backyard park?
Woodie Warrior Posted February 12, 2014 Posted February 12, 2014 This was 9 years ago Can we see your backyard park? Okay, c'mon. There are some old threads that are timeless and all, but this is not one of them. It's been 9 years, I doubt the ride is still standing.
