This could well be the most stupid and pointless sign on a ride I have seen to date since the "loud and unnessecary screaming" one at Drayton Manor.

Let's just READ this warning sign, which is posted outside of Revenge of the Mummy at USH (attached to the bottom)...Done reading? Yes, it really DOES say, "Service Animals are not permitted on this attraction"! So does this mean I can't bring my dog on the roller coaster? Hot damn, I had NO IDEA!

WTF?!?!

I mean, no ride op in their right mind is going to allow a guide dog onto Mummy (or any roller coaster). Even if they did, it's not very nice to force animals onto a scary ride experience that's not even designed for them, hm?

It is a sad world we live in when it is nessecary to put up a sign saying that guide dogs are not allowed on a roller coaster

I don't think they would have put up the sign if people hadn't tried to bring their service animal on the ride. But what's the use of putting up a sign like this that BLIND PEOPLE with guide dogs CAN'T EVEN SEE?

Have either of you ever (or anyone else) noticed any signs like this regarding dogs or other animals on rides at any other parks?

Super "I mean, I'm not blind with a service animal, but still..." Dasher

There are probably some attractions (shows, walk throughs) where service dogs are allowed. There's probably a rule (or state law) that requires them to post that information, regardless of how obvious it could be.

Service animals are not only for the blind. Although it is most common for service dogs to be used with the blind, dogs (and monkeys) are trained to assist those with varied disabilities.

Also, keep in mind that ROTM is an indoor ride and many visitors to USH are from out of town and the vast majority do not spend all day on TPR and go to parks without knowing the specifics of every ride. Many of the general public don't even know it is a coaster.

As a tyke, my family vacationed at Magic Kingdom the year Space Mountain opened. A lot of people in line did not know it was a coaster, they figured it was a typical Disney attraction. After a 2 1/2 hour wait (yes 2 1/2 hours) many people were turned away for being to small/young. There was no sign at the entrance with minimum height or even to say it was roller coaster with extreme forces, blah, blah blah.....

Of course there was no sign listing the anticipated wait time either.

My dad's friend, who had two daugthers that were too small to ride, filed a complaint at city hall and there was a sign posted when me and my dad went back for a late night ride.

Someone got fired from Body Wars when I worked there for putting a service dog on the ride. Yep...everyone was all strapped in and the dog was just sliding around all over the floor. Everyone who wasn't working there couldn't believe that anyone would be that stupid...either as the owner of the dog who wanted to take their dog on a thrill ride, or the ride op who actually thought it would be ok!

Oh, the stupidity...

Quoted for truth.

Kraken has a sign that says no food or drink on the coaster. I don't know about you, but I don't see someone holding onto a burger and Coke for too long on a coaster.

The ride ops on the topspin at Chessington gave each row a full cup of water that we had to pass down the row. Made it near to the end of the row before the ride flipped covering the people in water.

But that was for the TV show "Jim'll Fix It", not an everyday ride.

That kind reminds me of a pepsi commercial I saw where a guy held a soda through the whole ride. I think the coaster was the inverted one at a Sea World park.

On the Hulk, I once saw a guy who had one of those 3 foot stuffed dogs that he won at the pitch and skill games. He actually brought it on board and put it by his feet. The Team Member took it away and hid it behind the console. The things people take on rides!
