My Annual Passes for Universal Orlando are expiring soon...and my family is trying to pick a good date when there wouldn't be crowds...

I suggested going Superbowl weekend..the crowds wouldn't be near the parks because everyone is so pre-occupied in the Superbowl, right??

It would be my mom and I going, so we don't care if we miss the Superbowl or not...

But, my mom is saying that there would be crowds...

What do you guys think???

^sort of like the phenomena of going to parks on Holiday Mondays (Labor Day, Fourth of July) when others go the to beach or are stuffing their faces eating at picnics and parties.

I guess it would be a good idea...Plus, being in Orlando will keep me FAR away the major crowds in Miami!

Would Disney be the same? That probably wouldn't have crowds either (but then again, it is Disney!)

I had dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe in Citywalk during the Superbowl. There were probably 10 customers in the whole place.

I think I went SuperBowl Sunday last year and they crowds weren't bad, then again we did have express passes.

I am going SuperBowl Weekend this year though, maybe it'll be so empty they will let me ride Pteranodon Flyers,I've only been on once.

I went to SFMM one Superbowl Sunday years back. The park was very quiet and the lines were very low. I would highly suggest it (from my one experience). I will be at SFMM this Superbowl Sunday, in fact. I don't care about the game, but coasters with no lines...that's a different story.

I would definately have express passes...so that would lower the wait times even more...

But, I forgot that this was the first weekend of Mardi Gras...I haven't been to Universal during Mardi Gras for a while...How are the crowds then?? Don't the people really only come out at night??

Well, for the past two years, Ive gone to SFMM on the saturday of the super bowl weekend and it has been empty. I wouldnt see a reason why there would be more people going to Universal Orlando when the big game is in the area of the game where people can go and see the super bowl in person.

YAY express! Are you staying on-site?I went last year during Mardi Gras,I don't think it was during the first weekend though.I think what we did last year was went to IOA and then when the parade was about to start we headed over to the studios. It's hard to say,I geuss we'll find out soon enough.

^ Yes, i ALWAYS stay on-site...You have an amazing hotel AND express passes..can it get any better???

And if I do go..I'm just going to find a way to avoid the drunk crowds of Mardi Gras!

^I'm staying at Portofino, and I can't wait to go this weekend. We almost always stay on-site,unless we are just there for the day.

If you've been to HHN those drunk crowds are far worse.
