Dear GCI Interns,

Please build some nice Millennium Flyer trains for Son of Beast.

Thanks!

-Ginzo

Haha, if only we had that kind of pull.

About Hershey's old Wildcat trains... what Hershey does with them is obviously up to Hershey (not us), but I haven't heard of any plans of the trains being reused elsewhere.

btw, what is hesheypark doing with the old trains? throw them away or so?[/

I was wondering that too. Could they be new trains for the Comet?

Won't work- they're not compatible. Comet uses skid brakes. They have an trim brake on the turnaround above the station that is a skid brake. The will have to modify the station to accomodate the side plungers for the bar release, and change the gates to switch from 3 benchers to 2 benchers. Too much work from a business standpoint. Hope they can sell the Wildcat trains to Darien Lake!

They could probably use one or two cars for the display that their going to have at the museum.

Instead of moving the block brakes and chain dog, couldn't you just put the brake fins and chain dog right in line of where they were before? Or does the frame cause some problems for that.

Everything on a Millennium Flyer car is spaced exactly and so all of the components fit together. To modify each car would require a lot more time, work, and energy than modifying the few components on the ride.

And to clarify: the chain dog isn't moving. It's actually the chain itself that will adjust to accomodate alignment differences.

EXCLUSIVE:

The Wildcat trains are now officially at HersheyPark! The trains were shipped out yesterday and taday and they should be on the track within the next week, with testing to follow. Check out the website to see exclusive photos and see the progress of the Renegade trains.

The website has been updated showing Wildcat's new trains on the track. Banisters are still in production and will be added before the ride opens to the public.

Both trains were run multiple times yesterday to some good reviews.

Great work guys!!!

Nice! I like the lower bar, gives the rider a better view. BTW, I noticed in the Wildcat photos there is no bannister. Has it just not been installed yet or is that the design? Because I like that!

doesn't it say somewhere in the blog that they will be installed on-site or something?

I'm sort of torn on the thought of that. The open view would be kinda cool...like the front of a beemer floorless. But I still really like how the bannisters look with the coaster name on them, like Thunderhead and Rumbler.

However; on the other hand, the open view on a millennium flyer would feel like riding a

La-Z-Boy down the track.
