Noobitizer Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 These are some photos I took in early july/ late june of this summer. I was a ride operator at Perilous Plunge and Riptide. Photos are mostly in the morning with no crowds durring testing and some durring late night training and stuff. Best job ever in my opinion. I loved Perilous Plunge climibing the lift, test riding in the morining. I miss the old boats, but the new ones are definatley better on dispatch time. Plus they fit a broader demographic as far as size. Riptide was kool, must have ridden that sucker over a 100 times this summer. If you have any questions post em, im pretty knowledgable with many of the rides at knotts. Enjoy the pictures. p.s. they're in reverse order. whoops. The number 1 arriving in the Dry Dock In with the New, out with the old. thats me "what the hell did you just do you noob" look close up of the on-board computers. This is Perilous doing what it does. Giving us problems. Show Water! Good Night Perilous Go Thomas Go GO! Morning Testing The Beast. Good Morning Riptide Boomerang From Perilous's Station Final Shot of Knotts Random shot of my custom Scorpion.
pvcoasterguy Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Interesting TR... Those new Perilous Plunge boats look really claustrophobic. Are they really that tight, or is it just the angle of the photo? Thanks for posting it!
Noobitizer Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 The boats are about 6 inches shorter then the originals. A little tighter but the restraints are quite roomy. Able to fit shorter guests as well as larger. If your over 6 foot you might have a problem fitting inside the boats, max. height is like 72 inches I think.
Blnkgttrst Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Man i loved "riptide" such an awesome ride. Not to mention Xcellerator is in my top 5 best rollercoasters list (can't deny the original).
Gnome Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 I still don't know what was wrong with the old paint job. They should have kept the same design with the new, imo.
Noobitizer Posted October 4, 2006 Author Posted October 4, 2006 Thats funny we ( the crew at Perilous) thought the same thing when the boats came in. But,if you look at riptide from perilous, the boats and riptide match paint schemes and it doesnt look too bad imo.
ECZenith Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Nice pics, I love the photo of the new boat replacing the old one. Definately my favorite water ride, thrillwise.
knottslover77 Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 Is your name Charles(sp) right.Cause, if so I actully talked to my first Themepark Review member. --Jay
CP_RULES Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 I like the new boats a lot. Perilous looks REALLY awesome and steep. Any idea what angle that drop is? I have never seen a topspin w/ outward facing seats. Knotts looks like a really cool park, why does everyone hate it so much?

Unfortunately they dont have the greateast food and the service could be better and faster. Although in my opinion they employ the single best ride operator ever "anna". Any ride she is running you're guranteed the line will be moving quick and problems will be handled and no one will be cutting. (amazing rides really help)
