Thrasher Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Heres a pic I took on Sunday of the house being built in the Jaws queue:
Tiburon503 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 While the sheer overall beauty/experience of Universal Orlando kills my New Jersey home park, the HHN overlay looks kind of lacking. I honestly think SFGAdv. Frighht Fest decorations looks far more impressive. I'll probably take a beating for saying this, but that's my opinion. AmusementPics has some nice shots of the setup. http://www.amusementpics.com
Florida420 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 While the sheer overall beauty/experience of Universal Orlando kills my New Jersey home park, the HHN overlay looks kind of lacking. I honestly think SFGAdv. Frighht Fest decorations looks far more impressive. They usually pull out more stuff once the park closes ( about twice as much ) and when they open back up they let loose the fog. So with the fog, scareactors and a lot more stuff than you see during the day, it doesn't look too shabby. After seeing those pics, I think Harvest of the Souls is gonna be my favorite scare zone. The location has a lot of spots for baddies to hide. The pumpkin-skulls remind me of the Field of Screams back in '04 and that was my favorite that year. The pumpkin heads would sit still for a while and people would go up to them and think they weren't real....then bamm!! scare the poop right out of them. The "Deliverance" hillbillies walking around, left me feeling a little un-easy. P All " great pics BTW"
thefitness Posted September 19, 2006 Author Posted September 19, 2006 Thanks for your replys Anyone know why they are putting stairs in the DD?There is a picture in the TR.
CoasterEricHP Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 At Dragons they are redoing the express line so it wont just crash into the normal line before the Dungeon anymore. Apparently its taking them forever to get that done. Just on a random note.. Did you know Universal has a new Annual Pass out called the Premier Pass and it gets you unlimited Express Access after 4pm, bottled water, parking, and special event tickets (among some other stuff).. pretty cool. Eric
thefitness Posted September 19, 2006 Author Posted September 19, 2006 ooo so thats what they are doing! Wow the Premier Pass sounds like a great deal...but most of the time I go I stay in a hotel....but the express after 4 would be good for trips just for the day.
Thrasher Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 I recently got a mailer about the Premier Pass, and at first I thought it was too good to be true, but then I found the fine print and it is. Heres the deal. If you have a Preferred pass, then what they are offering you is an UPGRADE, not a new pass. The fine print states, in more legal terms, that the $100 upgrade is only good till the original expiration date of your preferred pass. In order to have that pass by itself, you would need to pay the full price of around $250. Still a decent deal. I like the free unlimited Valet parking option. CoasterEricHP, do you have any sources for the Dragons info? Id like to check them out.
RCTfan Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 When I was at Universal on Saturday, they were also handing out the Aquapods. I don't really understand why they made them. But they are "podtastic!" I saw alot of the construction for HHN as well. I'm really excited because I've never gone and it looks AMAZING. So excited! Great TR.
ECZenith Posted September 20, 2006 Posted September 20, 2006 That's good to hear about the Dragon's queue, I always hated how the express people kind of just all cut in front o fyou at once making you wait even more. Although it will probably be the same effect, just out of eyeshot...
thefitness Posted September 22, 2006 Author Posted September 22, 2006 but why would building stairs help? i dont rememeber the que sloping up at all at that part?
obeygiant Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Nice pics! I'll be going next weekend for a quick one day trip...Was the wait for BTTF long, because I know they already shut down part of the building?
thefitness Posted September 23, 2006 Author Posted September 23, 2006 ^well I had express passes so no it wasn't long but I think the normal wait was 20 to 30 minutes. what part of the building would they have shut down?
obeygiant Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 ^I don't know..I just remember reading that they shut down part of the building already.
Slacking Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 It says "whats your breaking Point" on it...where was the bus during that year? I'm not too sure, but wouldn't be surprised if the bus was part of Fright Yard.
ECZenith Posted September 24, 2006 Posted September 24, 2006 There was definately a bus or a truck in the fright yard scarezone that year but I'm not sure which it was.
thefitness Posted September 24, 2006 Author Posted September 24, 2006 Ya the Fright Yard seems to make the most sense. Does anyone eles agree that everything is really spread out this year?
Thrasher Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 ^I don't know..I just remember reading that they shut down part of the building already. If you are standing in front facing the building, the right side was closed when I visited last week. The TV's were gone and those metal detector looking things were also removed. Nothing else was out of place though.
JT3000 Posted September 25, 2006 Posted September 25, 2006 Ya the Fright Yard seems to make the most sense. Does anyone eles agree that everything is really spread out this year? That's the point. Would you rather have oodles of people converging in the same place?
thefitness Posted September 25, 2006 Author Posted September 25, 2006 ^I wasnt saying it was a bad thing but if they were worried about it being crowed why is Blood Masquerade so small and crammed?
