cfc Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 Hard to believe that Halloween is just around the corner (and down the street a little ways). Hell, BGE is going to give us Halloween in mid-September! We're even getting a taste of it now. Here are some pics of the prep. Wanna know more? These guys never shut up, even though they don't say very much. And matters are getting a bit grave along the way. The ghosts have been hung out to dry. Yeah, I kinda figured the old LeMans cars would end up here. The drink prices aren't the only scary thing at this snack bar. Either this clown has been shot with a cannon, or he needs to find an restroom ASAP. Soon this old shack will be filled with ax-carryin', mad-dog-handlin', cousin-lovin' swamp rats. The Dismal Swamp has reappeared on the train ride. . . . and coffins! Yes, a vampire's coffin--better get him some Robitussin! New France is gearing up with scarecrows . . .
alpengeist04 Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 LOL, they really are putting things out early.
mike541x Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Cool Photo Tr. I remember last year when I went. It was pretty fun.
thrillerman1 Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Nice pics. I can't think of a park where I would enjoy Halloween more than at BGE.
jamesdillaman Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 I enjoy halloween most at holiday world, because it has 2 of the 3 wooden coasters in the park! Â And Chuck, Nice photos, I need all those credits, maybe I can drive down sometime and see you again... Â James "I apologize for the first part" Dillaman
Hercules Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Geeze. Don't tell me that parks are going to get like department stores now.
cfc Posted August 25, 2006 Author Posted August 25, 2006 ^^Come on down, James. I had a great time with your a Julie at PKD earlier, and maybe this time it won't be pouring rain. Â Chuck
ECZenith Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 It seems every year parks put their stuff out early Wal Mart style. Lake Compounce had a whole bunch of Halloween crap out already when I visited yesterday.
bgwfreak Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 Nice to see the Le Mans cars pop up. Â I want one of them to go on ebay so I can buy it. lol
RCTfan Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 It'll be sad not working HoS this year at BGE. Someone best tell them last years Photo Op Jack was way better. Haha. Â Maybe I'll get to work at Mickey's Not-So Scary Party this year! Woohoo!
SharkTums Posted August 25, 2006 Posted August 25, 2006 ^If you do, tell them we need a Chip and Dale meet and greet area! For the last two years they've only been on the parade float!

Haha. Maybe I'll get to work at Mickey's Not-So Scary Party this year! Woohoo!  That was you? I must've walked by you a half-dozen times or so last season.
cfc Posted September 10, 2006 Author Posted September 10, 2006 I went to BGE today to renew my season pass and take a few pictures. Here's an extra uber-special Howl-o-Scream update for those who are brave enough to come the 'Burg during the opening weekend of September 15 (that is, this Friday). Here's a peek over the fence at the new "Weird Woods" scare zone, which is replacing Sea Dog Cemetery this year. Er, that's "minnow," swab! After a long day of trying to scare people, I like to relax with a nice corn cake. (Huh?) Oh, there's an "evil" clown. And evil clowns are taking over Festa Italia. (Wait a minute--that's me!) A huge, hideous troll (or average member of ACE--hey, I kid becuase I love) has control over Caribou Station. Werewolves are howling on the path to France (not to mention participating in "shenanigans" and parking strollers). Yes, it's almost time for Howl-o-Scream! Scurvy skeletons are taking over England.
cfc Posted September 10, 2006 Author Posted September 10, 2006 Here's something else I noticed today as I was wandering about BGE. I haven't paid much attention to the park's new map signs (mainly because I already know my way around), but I couldn't help but notice their somewhat inaccurate portrayals of the park's coasters. They look like they were drawn by someone with only a vague of idea of the coasters' various layouts, using graphics software with which he or she was unfamiliar. Sorry, Derek, but it looks like Nessie misplaced her interlocking loops and decided to swoop under a bridge. Since when does the Big Bad Wolf go through a building (other than the loading station)? Hmm--I don't know what the hell Alpie is doing. Looks like it got scrambled up by a tornado or something. Hey, bet you didn't know that Apollo's Chariot was now a launched coaster with no hills and a cockeyed loop at one end.
