Coasters 4 ever Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Does anyone know of any new rides that are to open in Universal Orlando or WDW in the next 1, 2, or 3 years(not including Expedition Everest)? Also, will Soarin' at EPCOT be removed after the "Happiest Celebration on Earth" is over? If so, will it be the same with Cinderellabration and Motors Action Stunt Show(not sure of the exact name of it)?
SharkTums Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Soarin will be there for at least 20 years...the Stunt show for at least 10, and the Cinderella Show for a while. Other than that pretty much everything is rumor. Elissa "hoping for some cool stuff" Alvey
Coasters 4 ever Posted April 17, 2005 Author Posted April 17, 2005 How did you respond so fast? I posted it, edited it, then the next thing I know there's a response!
Red Benny Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Well, it's not Florida, but there are strong rumors that they're converting Superstar Limo at Disneyland into a Monsters Inc. ride. I would imagine WDW would get a clone eventually, since that's what Disney's imagineers seem to be doing a lot lately
Movieguy Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 ^ Of course, this is today's modern, more "cost effective" Disney we're talking about As for future rides, I've always wanted to see a B&M flying coaster themed after the hero Iron Man on Marvel super hero island. The restraints could even resemble the chest plate parts of Iron Man's armor. Of course that's just wishful thinking for me hehe.
Jose Eber Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 There's some broad land clearing going across from the golf courses by Fort Wilderness, and a long stretch being cleared (almost for a road) across from the MGM entrance off of world drive. I am very out of the loop. Jose
JT3000 Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Also, will Soarin' at EPCOT be removed after the "Happiest Celebration on Earth" is over? Uhhm.... what? They don't build new E-tickets just to rip them out when the year is over. As much as I wish that were the case with Mission: Space, that would be rediculous.
EpcotLova Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Why do you despise Mission: Space so? Its a very intense ride that makes me want to ride it more and more!
JT3000 Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 It's a long list, some of which I just pointed out in the dark ride thread.
Jose Eber Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Its a very intense ride that makes me want to ride it more and more! Its not a ride, its a simulator

I am very out of the loop. Jose Really.. Wonder if they are finally going to go forward with the "Western Town themed" Fort Wildnerness Outpost, moderate resort.. I remember reading some story on that somewhere but it was scrapped... they are due for a new Moderate Resort sometime soon.. have their value in Pop and new DVC Saratoga, and tons of Deluxe.. ^-of course that was going to go on the back road that leads from Ft. Wilderness to the Wilderness Lodge. Jose.. or anyone. Do you know any site or know of any renditions of the Bonnet Creek Resort? I'm really hoping they conform to Disney standards and not Swan and Dolphin standards Eric
Coasters 4 ever Posted April 17, 2005 Author Posted April 17, 2005 I also heard that Disney might buy the Swan and Dolphin.
Movieguy Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 ^ That doesn't make sense...aren't those resorts already on Disney property?
Jose Eber Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 ^ That doesn't make sense...aren't those resorts already on Disney property? It makes a lot of sense: those resorts were on Tischman's (sp) property -- property given to him for constructing Epcot. Do your research! Personally -- in their own bubble -- those hotels are killer, especially dolphin (both by Michael Graves). However, I wish they'd implode them -- they are so out of place -- especially with Bob Sterns' work at Yacht, Beach Club and Boardwalk. I mean, the dolphin doesn't even use the top 10 floors -- guests are only booked to the 20th floor Coaster Eric HP: Wow, thanks for the info: never heard of that...to be honest -- that clearing looked like an area for Disney to take trees to and mulch them. looks like around property they are cutting back the treeline from the highway, so we don't get a repeat of what happened with the hurricanes last year at FW.
Jose Eber Posted April 17, 2005 Posted April 17, 2005 Jose.. or anyone. Do you know any site or know of any renditions of the Bonnet Creek Resort? Bonnet Creek as in next door to Caribbean? Its looking o.k. The height is low, so its not obtrusive at all. It looks fine -- they have one building complete already -- they should have a web site
Coasters 4 ever Posted April 17, 2005 Author Posted April 17, 2005 ^ That doesn't make sense...aren't those resorts already on Disney property? They are on Disney property, but they aren't owned by Disney. You see, when Epcot wat built, the Swan and Dolphin were already there. ^I agree with you. The Swan and Dolphin don't fit in at all with the only hotels in that area. The only thing, maybe, is that they are both named after animals that live in water, since the theme there has to do with the ocean.
CoasterFanatic Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 ^ The Swan and Dolphin did not open till a few years after Epcot opened. I remember seeing them under construction on my first visit in 1988.
Jose Eber Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 ^ The Swan and Dolphin did not open till a few years after Epcot opened. I remember seeing them under construction on my first visit in 1988. Yah, those hotels opened in 1990. Not at the same time though.

I doubt its for a new property but it would be nice! Here's hopin.. it's a shame there was so much tree damage during the hurricanes. I hate riding the train at MK and being able to see backstage.. weak. Thanks for the Bonnet Creek picture.. actually looks really nice.. thankfully. Eric
Coasters 4 ever Posted April 18, 2005 Author Posted April 18, 2005 The Swan & Dolphin were there, just under construction. That's what I meant by saying they were there before EPCOT opened.
blackcurrent Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 there are rumours that Indianna Jones will be transformed into the same ride as the once at Disneyland. Its rumoured they want to do something with this show and now they have the new stunt show from DLP it is thought it would fit in well. Just a rumour though
CoasterEricHP Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 The Swan & Dolphin were there, just under construction. That's what I meant by saying they were there before EPCOT opened. Epcot opened in 1982, the Swan and Dolphin were under construction for 8 years? I'm so confused  As for the Indiana Jones rumor.. I think that'd be awesome. But It doesnt make sense to use the Dinosaur technology for a second time at WDW. (Although I love Dinosaur).. Now an Indiana Jones ride using Spiderman/DarkCastle technology would be sweet Just imagine hanging over a rope bridge staring down at crocodiles.. or doing a part similar to the mine car chase.. Eric
Jose Eber Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 The Swan & Dolphin were there, just under construction. That's what I meant by saying they were there before EPCOT opened. Ummm...Epcot opened in 82, the hotels were not under construction till well after Epcot's opening in 88. I've heard the Indiana Jones Rumor as well. But I mean, its just a rumor. I agree with Eric -- something with runaway mine car would rock (and apparently not with what DLP has -- )
SharkTums Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I'd be pretty happy if they replaced the Indiana Stunt show with a Raging Spirits/Indiana Jones Coaster. It's a fun ride! BTW, I've heard this rumor too...so when do we place our bets! Elissa "not into most shows" Alvey
Movieguy Posted April 18, 2005 Posted April 18, 2005 I've never been to disneyland, so I've never ridden the Indiana Jones Adventure, so I'd of course be thrilled to see this one built in WDW as well
