derwood Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Great TR...felt like i was there....and i have never been. d
pianojohn Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 It has been SO hot down here lately, but it seems like you had fun! I will be sweating with the oldies at BGA tomorrow!! (I still wanna call it BGT)
dandaman Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Left is correct. Right is wrong! That would confuse the average person... Thanks for the pics, Derek. Do you remember which longhouse you stayed in at Poly?
Schmoofy Posted August 1, 2006 Posted August 1, 2006 Nice report Derek! I'm headed to WDW in 8 days, and am wanting to ride the new pirates. Did you ride? Worth the long wait?
DerekRx Posted August 2, 2006 Author Posted August 2, 2006 ^^Rapa Nui maybe? or something like that ^Yeah, the ride had a 40 minute wait. The new stuff is pretty cool I guess, especially the Davey Jone's effect. Barbosa didn't look that great to me, especially on that dinky ship, but Jack was pretty cool, especially the first two. The last scene was pretty average, I miss all the drunk pirates shooting at random stuff.

JT3000 Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Yep. Only Jack remains. It's a pretty good AA, especially if unload gets backed up and you stop right in front of him. But he's a little far away, and really the only thing to look at now. They should have at least placed those other AA's elsewhere. It also would have been nice if they installed another waterfall effect at the very end, so you couldn't see into the unload while in the last scene.
Golfie Posted August 3, 2006 Posted August 3, 2006 Aww it's so cool to see how the Polynesian resort has changed. We went there and stayed at their self proclaimed "Best Room" since the Magic Kingdom castle was right in the middle of the view. Neat to see that the waterslide is still there... it seems smaller than it did 5 years ago. Do they still have that show at night with the boats and they light up with animals like octopus and sea turtles?
DerekRx Posted August 3, 2006 Author Posted August 3, 2006 ^Yup, the Electrical Water Pagent still goes on a few times a night. We caught the 10:30 show as we were boarding the monorail back to the resort. Staying onsite at Disney is always great, especially if the majority of your time is going to be spent there. Of course, the three resorts with monorail service are the most handy, especially after a long tiring day at the park. I hope Disney does the new Fastpass thing sooner than later so I'll have more incentive to going back and staying there!
