Dailey Enterprizes Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 So yea, what happened to him. The website hasn't been updated in 2 years, so it's kind of a mystery. Somebody must still pay for that site to be up though, Coasterbuzz maybe?
Jon Sabo Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I recall Keith McVeen was doing some (incredible) work on the site and showcasing his talents for awhile. But, I believe I recall him attending college and becoming an engineering (or design) student. I think school is more than likely 'his' main focus now. In reference to the other members/site owners, I have no clue. As you stated, the site hasn't been updated for quite sometime; which is rather unfortunate. I thought there was an email link near the bottom of the page. Give that a try.
robbalvey Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 ^ He does industry realted work now, so I'm sure it would be a conflict of interest if he published his work on the internet. His website is here: http://www.3dvip.com/ If you have more questions for him I'd suggest following the "contact' link. --Robb
Jon Sabo Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 ^Awesome. Thanks for that update. Glad to see his work being showcased and looks amazing as his previous work.
ECZenith Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I was wondering the same thing myself a while back, glad to see his talents have gotten him where he is today.
CoryPa77 Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Here's a good article on Keith: www.funworldmagazine.com/2006/mar/features/living_dream/livingdream.html
Jon Sabo Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 ^Awesome article. Thanks for supplying the link. It really does show that determination and desire to create your dream job into reality can be achieved if a person wants it bad enough. I believe Robb would also agree in his job with designing video games and such. I'm sure both Keith and Robb (TPR site owner) are living their 'dream jobs' and sharing that vision and creativity for all of us to enjoy. It is especially a God-send in times that we live in as a society (war, hunger, global issues, etc). It allows each of us to perhaps escape the daily pressures in life, even if just for a day or two. I still have the priviledge of maintaining some business aspects in consulting for the industry (in Hawaii and other parts of the US) and I wouldn't trade it for the world. It is why this forum site was created (and other sites) dedicated for themepark enthusiasts. All of us that do some sort-of work in relation to the amusement industry would be considered as ambassadors to the themepark industry as a whole. That is because our love/desire for themeparks just showcases how well the industry thrives from any of us sharing our visions and creativity. And the ability to showcase that to all members of the amusement world. So, in essence, thanks to Keith and Robb (and others-including those talented TPR site members) for sharing your work with all of us in hopes that we keep that themepark vision alive!
Dailey Enterprizes Posted July 27, 2006 Author Posted July 27, 2006 Wow, awesome stuff here. I had no clue that Keith had achieved his dream job.
DRWP2005 Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Keith really does an awesome job, each time they just seem better and more realistic, it's amazing. Although I've often wondered how much he makes doing this? Later, Chris
sfne2005 Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Did anyone notice on that website the "sphere coaster"??? That thing looks crazy! And a bit nausiating too.
Oni Posted July 27, 2006 Posted July 27, 2006 Yeah I saw that thing and my mind basically came to a screeching halt. That's about all I can say. Other than the fact that it took me a good minute and a half to make sense of what I was looking at. It certainly got my WTF?!? for the day. Not a bad idea, though. I'd ride it.
cedarpointguru Posted August 20, 2016 Posted August 20, 2016 I wonder where Keith is now? Is he the same Keith McVeen that's senior production designer at Universal Orlando?
