bgwfreak Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I totally forgot all about these photos I took at the new Georgia Aquarium (Atlanta) back in April. So for all you aquarium lovers behold the "biggest" aquarium in the US. 1,000,000 fish supposedly. I wouldn't say the GA aquarium was my favorite aquarium, but it was nice. I wasn't sure if this should go on in the coasters forum or not, so move it if it should be there. If you would like to see the full size versions (they make nice wallpapers) visit: http://community.webshots.com/album/552179603HSLTmw Enjoy the pics! Ahhh... good ol' feeder fish. Like being in line at Six Flags. Insert your own comment here. Hey dude! You with the camera! Stop getting so close with that tartar sauce! I swear I didn't photo shop this guy in!!! Too big for Captain D's special of the day. Where's the tartar sauce? On your right you will see fish. On your left fish. In the center... Ooooooooh. Pretty. Jelly Fishing! Jelly Fishing! Jelly Fishing! (Random Spongebob referrence). The aquarium is nice and all, but is a bit confusing walking around in it. These guys had been there for weeks and couldn't find their way out. This is what we almost got lost in Atlanta to come see! The GA Aquarium. No jokes please about the name. Downtown Atlanta. Across the street is the Centennial Olympic Park from the 96 Olympics. Scott is thinking...where is my tartar sauce!
AndrewCT Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 I've gone down to Atlanta a few times for business, but now I really want to go back down to check out the Aquariam. Mostly because I want to check out the Whale Sharks. That's something you don't get to see too often.
BeemerBoy Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 So for all you aquarium lovers behold the "biggest" aquarium in the US. 1,000,000 fish supposedly. Nice report...I was wondering how long it would take for someone to post a TR about this aquarium. And I'm pretty sure it's the largest aquarium in the entire world now.
CoasterCrazy Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Thanks for posting the pictures of the Georgia Aquarium! I still haven't visited the Georgia Aquarium yet but I plan on visiting it next month for my birthday. How long does it take to see everything?
bgwfreak Posted July 12, 2006 Author Posted July 12, 2006 Thanks for posting the pictures of the Georgia Aquarium! I still haven't visited the Georgia Aquarium yet but I plan on visiting it next month for my birthday. How long does it take to see everything? We didn't do any of the extras like the movie, so it was about 1.5 hours or 2 maybe.
SharkTums Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Yeah, I chose to go to White Water over the Aquarium...I'll wait till the Whale Sharks get a bit bigger, but then I'm really excited to go!
ParkTrips Posted July 12, 2006 Posted July 12, 2006 Nice TR! I too really liked the aquarium, and I'm not a huge "fish person". The crabs had to be my favorite, though the whale sharks were pretty cool too. I thought it was done well except for maybe the weird layout, I need to get back one of these days.. (and go for the right reasons this time ) Elissa - that just give you another reason to come visit me Anthony - I'd budget 2 hours though we went early in the morning before the busloads began to arrive. - Joe, who doesn't remember why he didn't bring his camera
bgwfreak Posted July 13, 2006 Author Posted July 13, 2006 ^ I totally forgot about the crabs. They were huge! When can you say "You've got huge crabs!" and not mean something bad! lol I don't know why I didn't take any pics of them.
ParkTrips Posted July 13, 2006 Posted July 13, 2006 just so people know what we are talking about... stolen from brovik.com
shesaidboom Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 ^ Those are some huge crabs! This TR makes me unable to feel my legs. Fish are scary. It's still an awesome TR though and the penguins are very cute. Thanks for sharing
map2 Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Yeah they said that those things can get up to the size of a car. Yeah the aquarium is real nice and real big
goleafsgo Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 Yeah they said that those things can get up to the size of a car. Yeah the aquarium is real nice and real big yep. apparently a few years ago there was like a herd/group/flock (what do you call a bunch of crabs together?) walking down the coast of Norway and they were supposed to invade england... they were the siz of mini coopers.
