"Sure the a hole teens are annoying, but they are the ones keeping the park afloat." (atem122)

Actually, families (with Mom and Dad and the loot in their purse/wallet) will keep the park afloat. Six Flags knows that, which is one reason they're heading in that direction. (As a parent, I have a LOT more money than my teenage daughter---trust me.)

^ That is a good point and brought back some memories of my teen days, I used to go to the park quite often but was because my Grandma bought me my season pass, and I then would save my lunch money from school for gas money and maybe one meal at the park. I spent maybe a whole 25 bucks all day while at the park.

Today, I'm grown with a family of my own, which I regularly go to Disneyland with and I can tell you that I spend WAY more than 25 dollars a trip.

I think it is a very good buisness model for Six Flags to become more family friendly, but I think they need to do more than just add family friendly rides, they need to let it be known that they are changing for the better. I have yet to see anything that the general public would see that promotes their family friendliness. I still try to convince my parents that Six Flags is not a gang banger park so I think until they see some actual comercials or news stories they will still think of the old way.

Hey Robb, maybe you should sticky this thread?

It'd be easier to find...

On a side note, what is up with that mound of dirt sitting in front of the park?

I'm taking about the one at the corner of MM parkway & The Old Road.

I know this has been talked about before, I'm just really lazy and I don't feel like searching 700+ pages of this thread.

^I suggest you do in fact use the search function on the site. If you continue to repost things that have already been discussed because you are "too lazy," you may run into problems, as one of the sites posting rules specifically mentions doing a search first.

The discussion of development around the park was only a few pages back...

2. Use the "search" function. If you are posting about a news item or something of high importance ask yourself "could this possibly have been posted already?", like "Six Flags Astroworld is closing", chances are, it probably has. So do a search first.

I did a search, I couldn't find anything...

I tried SFMM dirt mound

SFMM undeveloped land

SFMM Hotels?

nothing....

I guess it could very well become a new parking lot for SFMM...or perhaps a hotel and a restaurant?

^A search for 'SFMM Hill' could have found the answers to your question. Or you could have bothered to read through the thread just a little bit, as it was only 10 pages prior that all the construction around SFMM was being discussed.

Go to Page 763, and you may find your answer, and see pictures of what you describe as a mound of dirt, and just so you know, that dirt isn't part of SFMM or front of the park.

Thanks...

on a side note it seems that the roads around the park, particularly The Old Road and MM parkway don't have that many sidewalks around them.

At SFGAm both Grand Ave. and Six Flags parkway have sidewalks for the guests who choose to walk into the park and not drive or worry about parking.

SFMM is not like that?

Posted

I've seen people walking up the sidewalk to the park, maybe when you get near the ticket booth it kinda vanishes, but that's when you walk through the x2 parking lot!

Save yourself $15, park at Marie Callendars or one of those restuarants, and walk to the park, even if you are a big family of 5-10, that $15 can go towards food. That is what I did when I went on Memorial Day. The price for parking is ridiculous, and as the park expands and more rides added, the price may be $18/$20 by 2010.

^I'm pretty suce admission would go up before parking does to fund attractions, and leaving your car in a commercial lot doesn't seem like that great of an idea. I'd much rather buy a parking pass and have that peace of mind that my car won't get towed. Paying 200 bucks to get it out the impound suddenly makes that 15 bucks seem like a bargain, doesn't it?

Posted

^^That's why I love my Xtreme Play Pass. It all adds up if you have to keep paying for parking everytime you go. I don't mind this construction as long as It helps get rid of traffic in the future.

Another parking option is to use the park n ride lot across from the Valencia Town Center at McBean & Valencia. The bus is $1 each way and drops you off near the far end of X2 on MM Pkwy. Used it quite a few times last year (upgraded to the parking pass this year). Only issue is that the busses stop running before the park closes on certain days, so keep that in mind if you want to stay late.

Be forewarned: if you choose to use this option, you are parking on private property and can have your car towed.

I won't be driving to SFMM.

EDIT: (For a first time SFMM guest): Can someone please show on the SFMM parkmap the Revo shortcut's exact location? Draw a line please? So I know exactly where it is when I run for Tatsu in the morning?

Posted

^It's not really something you can draw on a park map as the map primarily informs you where attractions, restuarants shops, etc are, not pathways. Once you're there, just head to Rev, it's pretty self explanatory.

Is the exit path separate or connected to the main Revo entrance?

Posted

^It says like Flash Pass entrance on it too I'm almost positive. All you do is turn to your right under the break run right before the station.

But really, it's easy to find.

Oh, and it's separate from the entrance. The entrance is up by the station and to the left, the exit is before the station and to the right.

Does it take you into Rapids Camp Crossing?

Posted

No it takes you to right before the lift hill (on the other side of the station) and so you go right out of the station and continue through a bunch of trees until you get to Rapids Camp Crossing.

Posted

I know Tatsu can be accessed from the bottom at/ near the Rapids Camp, but can it be accessed from the top of the mountain (Samurai Summit) too?
