SharkTums
Um, I think you are confused. No one died on Speed Boarder, in fact it was open in January when we were there. Someone died on their freefall ride and that has been scrapped.

Someone died on their freefall ride and that has been scrapped. That'll probably be it. I could have sworn that Speed Boarder was closed after an incident though, but it's not the first time I've been talking complete bollocks. And for the record I am sober! Homer
I'm still amazed that a SEGA park doesn't have a Sonic themed coaster... I could've called it Sonic Spin Dash...
ECZenith
They're replacing the coaster that goes through the weird tube sections? That coaster looked fun, never knew they closed it. Oh well, hopefully I'll be able to see this new coaster for myself next september.
Worm
Is that the coaster that goes all the way side ways, and advertise you in the window? or Is it the coaster in the video of the park where dan sits to the left? Hope that maked sense
therooboy
This sound excellent and will be open in time for me to ride in September. With Eejanaika,Tower Of Terror & now Spin Bullet its looking a great year for new ride openings around Tokyo.
timetrial3141592
Speed Boarder is the one that advertises you in the window. The "tube" coaster is Geopanic. "Geo because it's in the earth, Panic because it's a Togo ride!"
rollermonkey
Duane Marden clued me in to this one a week ago. When I return to the Tokyo area, I will be heading out to Odaiba to check this out, but it does have a lower priority than EJ or the ToT. At first glance, based on the description and location within the arcade, I thought that this might be Speed Boarder with a new train type. Also, the closure of Speed Boarder was very recent, occuring in the last three mothns or so. So I figured either that, or a stock model. I guess I'll find out in a couple months. If anyone else gets out there, let us know!
DerekRx
Crap, no Speed Boarder for me then. Oh well, at this rate, by the time I finally go to Japan they'll only have like 20 coasters total.
rollermonkey
I wouldn't worry about there being THAT few coasters over here, Derek! Only the US has more than Japan, but yeah, lately there does seem to be an unusual number of park closures.
ECZenith
Phew... Geopanic is safe. Looking forward to yet another weird coaster to add to the list.
