  1. All of those photos were taken with a canon rebel t1i.. The trick to most of the photos is overexposing the shots and keeping the camera totally still..I used the kit lens and a 50 mm prime lens. I'll post another set of random Universal photos tomorrow if everyone is into it.
  2. Here is Harry Potter at night and a few additional random photos. No captions or wit. Just Potter in the Raw. There is no retouching/sharpening/ or color adjusting in these photos because it's late and I'm lazy, so please go easy on me.
  3. Chad? are you stalking me? LOL.. I ALWAYS tip 20 dollars at check in and I always pull it out before I ask for the upgrade.. Some might call it classless, but I call it tactful.
  4. I'm at universal orlando right now. I'm booked in a room at the royal pacific resort where I have a great view of the back of the building (The front desk person gave me a funny look when I asked for you that view) and you can see no visible damage.. I took numerous over the wall shots inside the park and, again, there is no exterior damage visible.. I'm happy to upload the pics in case I'm missing something.
  5. Norwegian Cruise Line (The i305 of cruise lines due to controversy) is on Undercover Boss tonight... Should make for good television.
  6. I decided to do a spur of the moment trip and I'll be at IOA tomorrow. I'll have good pictures up by tomorrow if someone doesn't beat me to it.
  7. If this were the paintjob thread- Hulk should win hands down.. They have spent so much on upkeep at IOA this year and that makes Hulk look that much worse. My vote is Grizzly though.. Juice or No Juice.. That ride was rough (but had great potential).
  8. Larry it looks like Thunderhead may have been a religious experience for you!
  9. I'll just leave this here, because it might be Kristin's greatest acheivement, ever.
  10. C'mon Now- The answer is clearly DUBAILAND.
  11. This trip report is awesome, but it could really use some more monorail photos.
  12. Do you think that same strategy will still work when the reopen Kentucky Kingdom with competition in the area? Joey- You need to be praised for your intelligent thoughts more often.. I just saw this video on Screamscape and was going to post essentially what you already posted. The youtube video mentions that new rides brought new guests to the theme park. I believe the largest increase was 200,000 year over year. If you build a new ride every year that will pull in guests but also not break the bank, you are probably looking at around 3-5,000,000 each year. If you are building a new ride every year you can't amortize the costs as you have to pay for another new ride the following year. So if a new ride brings in 200,000 new guests and prevents a loss of a 100,000 , you are paying between 10 and 20 dollars for each new guest. These are really conservative numbers. The average guest spend at these cheaper regional is 50 dollars (being very generous with my numbers). Overhead is typically 80 percent.. So your net profit is around 10 dollars. But wait! You have to pay for that new ride.. See my point?
  13. ^lol .. Sorry.. I've typed intimidatour and intimidator too often on these boards..... I meant intimated..... @Adam-- LOL. That's why I shared my source and I hope other members look at my plethora of posts and decide for themselves.
  14. I voted for Where's Waldo (great concept) and All Ur Base (great meme and one that I hold dear to my heart).. Great entries everyone. Ironically I recieved this post by fax from Nigeria and voted using scantron. Is it normal to provide three credit cards and your social security number to verify identity?
  15. Of Note-- Screamscape reported that Six Flags removed all of the branding from Great Escape and intimidated that they were possibly prepping for a sale. The most recent update from Screamscape squashes those sale rumors by mentioning that Six Flags doesn't have a blanket license for the Looney Tunes characters. I can tell you with absolutely certainty, that Six Flags is planning on selling Great Escape and Lance was either fed these rumors by a PR person or an overzealous fan. Since statements without any proof are frowned upon here, I will share this.. I was told that the park is about to be actively shopped from an executive of the Corocan Group. I'm told that this sale is not a fire sale and that Six will market it privately and only sell it if the correct price is found.
  16. Lol.. I'm not really playing.. but I do love Justin Timberlake! .. Anyways... If I can help you figure something out PM me me or hit me up on facebook.. Facebook is Chris Con.. PM is PM.. peace and love. Edited to say- Full Disclosure: Requesting me on facebook will get you nowhere. You'll get my advice, but I know nothing.. honestly.
  17. Otherside is a single off of Californication.. The Red hot Chilli Peppers did the audio for that random revamp of space mountain and california screamin'.. Could the link be something that has to do to with california screamin'? just sayin.
  18. I think a lot of people that have never ridden BBW would have certainly liked to have tried it at least once in their lives - just to see if it's as good as some people say. Others that have ridden BBW may be somewhat embarrassed to say that they did and they liked it for fear of being ridiculed by those that prefer something more sleek and speedy. Then there are some that have an overall fetish with BBW and will go to great lengths to say they are proud to have ridden it hundreds of times! Others may have had to consume alcohol in order to brave the wild swinging and swaying of BBW at night and then wonder what happened the next morning. Personally, I rode BBW and while I admit that I liked it back in the day, my tastes have moved on. I will be excited to see what they put in her place...I wouldn't mind a ball coaster or a big woodie!! Best. Post. EVAR. Thanks for getting the joke.. I laughed, frequently and often. Chris "Just liked the familiar BBW smell and touch" Connolly
  19. I don't think much is going to help me tonight except cuddling up next to this up-stop wheel and covering myself in track lube.. Chris " everytime when I read BBW in personal ads, I know they are talking about Big Bad Wolf" Connolly
  20. Alright Guys.. I'll come clean.. I created the ILOVEHOLIDAYWORLD screen name just to troll this page. It should have become pretty clear that no person that exists in real life would write such nonensical babbling like - " For a website called Theme Park Review to poke fun at a historic piece of industry that this website is supposedly about is pure blasphemy " - (That's big words for a website called theme park review shouldn't review things") I'm sorry.. It's just that Big Bad Wolf means more to me then almost anything that goes on in my real life and I didn't want the forum to know that by using my real screen name.. So this is a Christmas apology.. Chris "First Christmas without BBW has just left me so empty" Connolly..
  21. How about not having any Freestyle machines in New York.. This was another major dissappointment I missed. I'm not sure how thouroughly this has been covered on TPR. -- Picked the most annoying link I could find.
  22. If you are referring to me, then I hereby boycott Go Karts Plus for eternity. The trims on that ride were terrible.. Oh Hey Mike Moody .. Happy Birthday Man!
  23. I thought I305 was "AMAZING!" as well.. I guess I'm easily impressed or other enthusiasts prefer forum reviews over real life experiences. Chris "just sayin" Connolly
