1. Sounds Dangerous My actual favorite ride at WDW.. Living with the Land.Seriously. If you haven't been on it in awhile it's basically the last ride that encapsulates what Epcot was about when it first opened.

My mom says I'm cool because I reply to my own messages.. I've realized today that 60fps is what you need for super smooth non jerky pov video. Unfortunately the contour gps doesn't support 1080p at 60fps, but at 720p it looks sweet.

Although, I don't film coaster POV's (I leave that to the pros), I recently (read today) purchased a Contour GPS camera for filming my offroad driving exploits. I previously used my iphone 4 with a number of rubber bands attached to my rear view mirror for filming. As ghetto as this sounds, it made for great, relatively high resolution films. I purchased suction cup mount for the contour camera as well as a couple of fixed mounts. The image stabilization appears to be terrible with this camera (worse than my iphone 4) . After a few hours of test and adjust today, I've found that the robb alvey method of duct-tape to a surface far surpasses the fixed mounts I've purchased in regards to vibration and image stability. I guess my question is, has anyone used a contour camera for filming pov's of any type and Robb, would you be interested in testing this camera with your pov's to at least show me if "I'm doing it wrong?". I agree with this.... TPR's site is like comfort food. Sure it isn't the prettiest thing you've ever eaten, but it still feels like home. For anyone following non coaster sites.. Look at how the gawker network (gizmodo, etc.) ruined a site redesign.

Just an idea.. TPR has shown time and time again, that we have a a lot of talented members amongst our ranks. The contest for the club tpr logo and card layout blew my mind. I'd love to see what some of our talented friends can think up for a front page redesign. Even if it was a "just for fun" contest. ?

What I find interesting about reading this comment is that I was actually expecting quite a few people to say this exact same thing. But the reality seems to be that the majority think the site does NOT need a huge overhaul. Which is one of the reasons why I posted this question in the first place. I mean, I guess I'd really like to know some honesty here - do most of you agree with this statement, but just don't want to say it, or do you really think that if the site needs any updating at all, it's more of "minor tweaks" and less of a "major overhaul?" Again, I'm all about gathering as much information as possible before we do ANYTHING as I've seen to many other sites do completely stupid stuff and make huge, sweeping changes, that only frustrate their readers, without adding much benefit. Alvey Here's the thing, TPR has so much fucking content and the current design is clean, but clearly based on an earlier version of phpbb.. I love what miceage and yes, westcoaster have done with their sites. They focus on a few really hot topics and wow the audience with photos. The thing about those sites are, their scope is relatively limited. TPR has content from nearly every theme park in the world that is created daily. A major redesign would have to include the same broad spectrum of links to make TPR; TPR! I like the layout as it is.. It's simple, familiar, and elegant in it's simplicity.

how about making the layout a little more translucent so you can show off the work of all the talented TPR photographers out there in the background?

My opinion? TPR is all about CONTENT .. The main page features a lot of content. I'd go two ways this.. Either leave it exactly the same, but maybe update the graphics and layouts to something more current or go the way the way of other sites with one or two really high res flashy graphics and two or three really current stories. MSN found out that by removing a lot of the content from their main page and adding larger graphics, people were more likely to click through more links, but with TPR content is king and I really like the way things are. One other thought, the diamond pattern behind the title bar menu gives me seizures (so does playing street fighter 2). Chris "just my thoughts at the time man" Connolly oh yeah..
