I just learned that Electronic Arts is releasing "Theme Park" (the original 1994 game) for the iphone.. This has been a productive scavenger hunt. -

Is it is hidden in the park index? Because I'm always honestly looking for an excuse to check out this newly improved part of the site. Maybe on the page of a park with a new ride in 2012? -

Would you like us to hide something else? As long as it doesn't involve my social security number then absolutely! -

Stupid question, but why is it spelled that way. Also that little twisty slide coaster thing is crazy. Looks photoshopped. -

Really? Leviathan, Verbolten, Wild Eagle, X-Flight? I think it will be good but only be like 3rd or 4th best. Leviathan and Wild Eagle FTW. After seeing the POV animation for Wild Eagle, I have to say that I was little underwhelmed. I wonder if compromises were made to incorporate the ride into the terrain versus being one of those rides where the terrain adds to the ride experience (sky rush?). Dare I say that the X-Flight layout looks better? Regarding Leviathan, I enjoy a B&M airtime machine as much as the next person, but an an incremental height and speed upgrade of a concept done so many times doesn't excite me as much as SkyRush does. Either way, I'll be riding them all next year and loving every minute of it. -

I'm going to call it now. Once this opens, the general consensus will be that this is the best new coaster of 2012 anywhere in the world. -
Myrtle Beach Annual Visitors = 14 Million Mallorca Annual Visitors = 7-9 Million Both are seasonal tourist areas that are driven mainly by the beaches and pre-existing recreational activities. Hard Rock predicted 3 million annual guests. Mallorca predicts 1.5 million annual guests. I think we already know how this is going to turn out. Edited to say: And the concept art kind of sucks. no?

--- Totally just a guess, but was this the WDW preview center? Amazing photos Scott (although they could probably use a few watermarks for good measure)! It looks like you spent some time reading the owners manual before embarking on the use of that beast of a camera. I look forward to seeing where we are going to go next, but I think this also might make for a great off shoot thread. I'm sure there have been threads based on how to take a theme park photo before, but I'd love to see an amateurs guide for how you took some of these amazing photos. Great stuff. I've got a secret for you. The GP exists and every real coaster enthusiast loves them because without them, this wouldn't exist either. Everything else we say is is in good fun, just like the collective fun we all have at the park. -

I believe that the federal money, conservation efforts, donations, legislation and breeding programs exists mainly because of the the public's emotional attachment to the animals because of our experiences seeing them up close and personal. Some may suffer so more may live? -

^I know this isn't whale park review (and honestly I don't really care about animals either way as I'm a terrible person), but one could argue that even if whales in captivity live shorter lives than whales in the open ocean, their public display brings money, attention, and political action to their conservation.... To put it more succinctly, if Shamu wasn't on view at SeaWorld, would the United Nations, WWF, IWPO and other PR based organizations be putting so much pressure on countries like Japan to curb their whale hunting efforts?.... By Displaying Whales, Pandas, Bald Eagles, or effing Sugar Gliders in an area where the public can connect with them, brings attention to the need to protect and help them on a much more macro level.
