  1. At least YOLO isn't old, faded, and worn down yet. That's progress, right?
  2. ^ I've got 50 to unload.
  3. Because they can. This thing looks seriously ridiculous.....in a very good way.
  4. ^ But what about a 20K game with an ump that happens to have a generous strike zone? Wouldn't that be similar to the little bit of luck you need to throw a no-no? I'm not necessarily disagreeing with the argument (because the 20K game makes a good point), just curious.
  5. ^ I believe they've spent the last week thoroughly testing the Tilt-A-Whirl to determine whether to go with hard or soft wheels. And they've tried to run White Lightning, but its main problem right now is that it's not finished.
  6. Nice rides. To be honest, you don't see many new ones either! As for the "interesting" paint job here, you know what it's based off of, right?
  7. Ain't nobody got time for that! Ha! Can I at least formally request that The Gap Band be played on a loop in the station then? [youtu_be] [/youtu_be]
  8. Tony, thanks for the video. Is there any way the workers can fill in the gaps? They ruin the WHOLE coaster. Thanks.
  9. ^ ^^ I never said anything about a ride, just her standing there like that would suffice.
  10. ^ But you can't have a washing machine without water.
  11. The thought of another coaster in that area is depressing...especially a possible cookie-cutter B&M. Since they finally stepped out of Africa with the addition of Walkabout Way (aside from the Bengal tigers), I'd LOVE to see Gwazi replaced with a huge Asian themed area which incorporated pandas. There's not a single zoo in Florida where you can see pandas, so BGT would have a great marketing possibility there....and they just happen to be one of the few places that could deal with all the red tape involved in acquiring them from China. The facilities they could build would obviously be top notch, and a great benefit to panda research. Just make the area BGT's answer to SWO's Antartica. Dark ride, immersive panda exhibit, bring over the Komodo dragons, throw in some King Cobra enclosures, maybe even a drop tower (finally?), add a great Asian-inspired restaurant, and then surround it with typical Asian architecture and Angkor Wat-type theming. Boom. Done.
  12. Great report, and so happy to see it benefit GKTW!! Very nice work by all who were involved. Of everything shown, I think I'm most jealous of their organizational skills....
  13. Yeah, but in that "era," I still think there were just as many pitchers on the juice as there were hitters, so it sort of leveled out. I'll agree though that the overabundance of juice at the plate definitely benefited the power hitters who could be patient enough to jump all over a fastball or hanging curve. When you've now got several guys surrounding your clean up hitter who are all of a sudden just as capable of going yard, it provides a lot more protection in the lineup, and thus makes it tougher for a starting pitcher to get through that portion of the lineup untouched.....which ultimately meant not as many no-hitters or perfect game opportunities. Coupled with the tougher steroid rules, now I think we're also seeing more pitchers learn how to pitch rather than just throw hard. There just seems to be many more guys with bigger pitch repertoires than in the past, which may contribute to overall lower batting averages across the board and a greater chance at no-hitters. I'm thinking and typing in a hurry, so I hope that made some sense.
  14. I like a good deal just as much as the next guy, so I'm a LOT like you, and I'd probably choose something lesser than RCL as well. Then I remember how I actually like to enjoy the ship's surroundings, food, entertainment, accommodations, hospitality, and general ability to be seaworthy....and I wisely pick RCL.
  15. ^ I don't put any emphasis on strength of rosters when it comes to near-perfection....especially less than a week into the season. Again, if it was so simple to do, then the doormats of the league would be yielding perfect games and no-hitters on a much more frequent basis. Yes, both outings were tremendous, however; the "but it was against the _______" argument never carries much weight with me on this topic.
  16. This is just ridiculously good.
  17. Only 23 pitchers have tossed perfect games in Major League history..............23. If you come within one pitch of that mark, I'd have to give that performance the nod. And let's be honest, that one pitch yielded a ground ball....unfortunately to one of the gaps. The others were impressive too, but be it the Astros or not, Yu was one pitch from history. None of the others were that close to having their uniform, glove, or final out ball retired to Cooperstown.
  18. It's pretty bad when Alabama does its best to get rid of you.
  19. ^ Even then, all they need to do is paint a free throw line on the ground underneath it and he'll probably avoid it.
  20. I haven't followed this project much, so I basically have no idea what the hell is going on except for a ton of track and a washing machine. However, now I'm convinced they're also building a sex shop or something.
