Your attention to every detail is astounding, and your willingness to go back and re-work a "FINISHED" area is something that most in the RCT community fail miserably at. Most people here and NE seem to have this attitude that once something is done it is DONE!, and you have provided here a group of pictures that I hope will inspire everyone with the "it's done" mindset that things in RCT can always be better and should never really be done. Once again congrats on your Spotlight at NE and am looking forward to seeing Knossos V1 when I get home tonight! -
^ That is amazing! Yea the stand ups were very big for the space. For the bigger of the two I was going for a shoved in a small space Mantis kind of thing and the other was a Iron Wolf shoved in a small space concept. They were both really fun and challenging to build though. Gotta give me a pat on the back for getting such large coaster in such a small space and never leaving the allotted area. Anyway, I will get back to work and have a few new ideas for the area very soon. Also, I like Batman #1 better, it's compact ending looks more like the real one than #2 does. Both are very nice though.

I like the coaster you have above but I really like the one you made back on page 11, think it was called version 2. My only problem with it was the long flat straight section of track before the half loop that went under the path. I think it could have been worked a better way by either continuing the curve and having the half loop dive under ground next to the path or it stayed in the direction it was pictured as and have it dive down right in the middle of the path so the path would have to go around it. Don't know if you still have the version with the twin Superman tower coasters but I really like those there also. Boring yes, but they fit the area very nicely.

Nice to see you really getting your hands on doing some scenery items like the bridge. It looks like it will be a great addition to this little park. As for covered or not, it works either way. How about a little of both. Leave most of ends uncovered and then then toward the center add the roof sections. The bridge is 16 squares long so how about something like this... - = no roof, ^ = roof. ^----^-^^-^----^ -

At what point does it go invisible?, when the patch is first activated or when you try to use a trainer while the patch is running? What items in the game are affected when the invisibility starts?, land, scenery, rides or everything? I know those questions in no way help you with your efforts finding the conflicts but I am just curious. I am still amazed you were able to get it running at all. THAT IS AWSOME! A giant leap toward solving so many RCT2 issues. I really wish there was something I could say or suggest to help you but unfortunately when it comes to this patch I am clueless. I am wondering though if it is just a single missing or invalid line of code that affects it's ability to function properly with the video aspect of the game. I doubt it could be that simple but just wanted to toss that out there. Buddy I do with you continued success with this project and I hope you are able to get all the bugs worked out. There are so many who will be so grateful if you can pull this off. Now, take a break for a few days and play in your "Oasis" park. Not sure how to take that? -

Here is everything you ask for except for the path from Sunset Resort. Can you link me to the page that has a picture of the path your looking for from that park? I probably have it but since the park is not released yet there is always the chance I may not. I also included some other table, chairs and combos you did not ask for just in case you might need them also. Speaking of Hard Rock Park (Freestyle Music Park), doesn't that coaster in the 11th and 12th pictures look a lot like the Eagles - Life In The Fast Lane coaster with it's staggered lifts and helix(s). -
I think for the time being it is fine to just keep everything at the Mart, with that said it wouldn't hurt to keep an eye on the situation and if they do decide to close the downloads area then we can try to get the items posted here at TPR. I spent a few days going through all the RCT2 topics/posts in every sub forum in the search for extra content that was never posted to the downloads area. Found quite a bit of content but for the most part it dead links from many years ago. It is all saved on my computer and once I get it sorted out I will be putting it on a disc for safe keeping. A data base for RCT/2/3 and NL would be very nice and I would be happy to help put it together if it was to ever become a reality here at TPR. It would definitely eat up some space though. RCT2 - Right now my ObjData folder has 17,301 itemsin it with a file size of 611MB. While that may not seem like much that does not include any photos or any other information for any of the files. Something that would in most cases need to be added to each file so people can find what they are looking for or just window shop. I also have a file with 3,833 saved RCT2 game files from all over the world in that is 741GB in size and is still growing. Almost every time I open a park I get more new content for the game. RCT (original) - Would be very easy and very low on the file sizes since there is no custom content and all the maps are only a certain size. There really is nothing more than just a few trainers and other utilities and saved games. RCT3 - While I have the game, I have never been able to play it on my computer so I really have no clue how big the files are for any of the custom content that is out there or what the file size would be for the average saved game. NL - I have had the game for many years and have lots of saved tracks. They don't seem to take up much space and neither does the custom content that came with many of the track files. Once again though if posted in a database style tracks and other content would more than likely need pictures added increasing the the amount of space they would take up.

^ The problem with the park is not you it is the park itself. It is very poorly designed with dead end paths and long stretches of path with nothing along them. What you need to do to save the park is look for areas that have guest piling up. Click on a few of them and see where they are trying to go. Then somewhere near by build a tunnel to solve the problem. Remember the park has 2 entrances on opposite ens of the map and once a guest decides which one he/she will be using to exit the park that is the one they will try to get to. Guest wanting to leave the park is why the parks ratings dropped so fast. Once you build the hidden paths and they get out the ratings will go back up. I have a saved game version of this park with the path issue fixed I will post if you anyone is interested. -

This is a great example of how you don't need to have HUGE coasters to make an exciting park. -
So happy to see your still churning them out, I have downloaded them all and when I get the chance I will give you some feedback on them. Work have been a little crazy lately and I am not finding much free time at the moment. Am looking forward to seeing each one run through it's course as soon I get the chance.

I like the rides placement, however I think it would look better if you took the games corrugated metal wall and put it under the ride and sunk it into the water. Getting rid of the in-game supports for it. Love all the angles and arches on the coasters building. -

How close are the nearest shops for food, drinks, restrooms and junk? If they are not near by a few of those in the area would be nice. Keeping with the western look of the place how about some canoes or row boats for the lake? -

Sorry I have been very busy at work for the last few days and I am a little behind on what's going on with problems, what has been fixed and what has not? ^Did you get my PM? ^^ No your not crazy Mastersax, all of your problems with 8cars are being caused by your version of Windows and all 8cars functions will work with only minor issues from time to time once you get XP running. -

First, just to let you know you do not need the number after the "/". They only mean something to the game, not people. So in other words you need "XXBSHJO1". Below you will find another version of the "NE Bench" (saved game) from 2007. This one should download all the scenery items with the park without any issues. Just download it, double click on it and let it load. Also fixed is the guest entry problem that was caused by using the own all land function with 8cars. The border land has been restored and guests can now enter the park without issue. If you wish to build all the way to the edge of the map just use 8cars to change land ownership and build what you want and then change ownership back. The standing peep can be found a few pages back in this topic HERE. As for the table with umbrella I have two versions, one that came with the beach set from RCTMart and an version of the same I make color changeable. I used them in my water park. Which version do you want? Paths not a problem, just need to know what kind of styles you want. NE Official Bench FIXED.SV6 -
Change the land I am allowed to build on to different colors and label each for what you are looking for, ex- blue = stand up, red = floorless... and PM me the park. I would love to give it a shot. Been so busy doing other RCT2 related things I haven't had much time to start a park. But just building in one for a day or so would be great! So if you wish PM me the park (export plugins please).

RCT4?
dmaxsba2408 replied to coasterdude5's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Going to go out on a limb here and say that I don't think this game is going to go backwards in graphics to the days of RCT2. It is only going to keep going forward and build off of what is in RCT3. Just my opinion though. The only way RCT2 is ever going to get better or expanded on is if someone with code skills gets into the game and either makes new track and train variations and other additions or releases a program in a form simple enough for some of us to understand and do it ourselves. Cough, ROBB! -
What is going on in ^that^ picture? What a mess! So what's the issue with your running out of ideas? You can do this three ways. Just fill in the rest with random rides, buildings and trees. Or stop right there and call it finished. Or move on to the next phase with planned expansions like an Arrow Suspended, Old school B&M Stand-Up or an modern over the top version like SFMM Riddler. An expanded children's area with a good themed Log Flume and Mini Coaster, and maybe a Driving School ride like Lego Land has only in a really boring way that only Six Flags could come up with. How about a Thomas Town, there is a great Thomas Train available for the game. The Wooden Mouse Mine cars would make for a great Terrible Trucks coaster. No modern Six Flags park would be complete without a Flying Coaster, Vekoma or B&M versions would work. Think I would go with Vekoma so the park doesn't get over B&M'ed. Where is the much need floorless B&M in the parking lot? You have a lot of room and a lot left you can add to this park, so stop whining around and get busy!

Yes, and that is a good thing and bad thing, that is why I said you need to go through the stuff you get so you can get rid of the junk and keep you ObjData folder clean. It can only hold so much stuff before the sliders quit working so you don't want to fill it full of junk you will never use. Always keep a back up of your original RCT2 ObjData folder in case of problems and as your custom content grows keep an updated version of folder saved as a backup as-well. It can be a lot of work keeping it clean and junk free but well worth it. CoasterCreator9, please PM me your park if you want to. I have had this issue before myself and was able to fix it. Hopefully I can fix yours as well. I make no promises though as sometimes it is not fixable. I do need one bit of information, what were you doing before you noticed it happened? Nothing, using a trainer, building a coaster, landscaping or a combination of items? -

There are really very few places left to get custom content for RCT2. RCTMart is the best place left with a large amout of downloads. The link is in my signature. If you do a search for RCT2 sites you will find a few here and there but don't expect much. Your best bet is to download parks and then sift through what you get. Keep what you like remove what you don't. Be careful if you go to NE and download one of the Benches. Many have had the ParkDat utility used on them and will often "Error Trap" the game if you try to load/alter it in the Landscape Editor. This is a side affect of the ParkDat. The bench will work fine everywhere but in the editor. Many have serious guest issues also, meaning it can be impossible to get guests into the park or they pile up at the maps edge. However they do have great selections of building blocks. I would suggest downloading one and getting the content into your game then going into the editor and making your own version of it. Don't let the issue with the ParkDat in the editor stop you from using it though, the tool is amazing and the best way to add and remove items from a park the is being built. So pick it up (page49) also and learn how to use it. -
