  1. I rode "Timi" last season with out any gray outs. I love the rework of the ride this season , and have ridden it at least 25 times, all with partial gray outs. It doesn't bother me. I take it as part of the ride experience. It's weird I've never grayed out on Goliath at Magic Mountain and I've ridden it hundreds of times.
  2. I rode NTAG 6 times today, and I was disappointed. I was here for the TPR event for it a few months ago, and I swear it was running faster then. The rideops are not as aggressive with the lap bars now. It maybe just me, since I spent last Friday & Saturday at 6 Flags Great Adventure riding El Toro & Nitro. I'll be back on Thursday for more research... One other thing forget the "fireworks" near the carrousel at 9:45 -- very lame.
  3. Okay I stand corrected. I was close with at least stating hydraulic something. I knew there were heat related issues with these types of rides.
  4. I'll be there this afternoon to sweat! Yes there is a drop area to unload riders near the entrance.
  5. With the small construction footprint I saw while at the park last week , I can't believe this is it. I hope I'm wrong.
  6. After Colossus was down for rehab this winter it was running great. Maybe it's "worn off" already. I did enjoy the ride then. I'm heading to Dallas today to ride ride NTAG again. I hope it's R.M. treatment is still good.
  7. These "types of rides" have trouble with the high heat. That lesson wasn't learned at the first install Xcelerator at Knotts. I beg to differ with you on this. At Knotts (Xcelerator) the generator room (where the engine is) can over heat and shut the ride down. They bring in extra cooling for that reason. I'm sure the same is true on TTD.
  8. Thanks for the advice. I always like the last row on steel. I'll try it again in a few weeks when I'm there. This week it's NTAG , and Bizarro Bash in New England.
  9. These "types of rides" have trouble with the high heat. That lesson wasn't learned at the first install Xcelerator at Knotts.
  10. Amen, I agree with 2 out of 3. I haven't been on Mantis this year yet, but I can say I've NEVER had a ride on Mantis that was like glass.
  11. I was at Great Adventure the past 2 days - Friday & Saturday. I had a great time (as usual), except for Friday morning. Friday morning I took the walk back to Green Lantern. I normally go to Superman. That was a big mistake. They were testing the ride with 3 trains. They the decided to take one train off, and the track never returned to normal operating position. They had at least 5 maintenance guys there with no success. I then went to Superman got to the platform, and then no dispatches. No announcements were made, and a loudmouth guy at the loading gate started screaming at the rideops (who were hiding). One rideop came out and told the guy they could hear him across the platform. The rideop then proceeded to tell him to shut his mouth. He was also told to leave before they call security. The guest had a big mouth, but there was no need to tell him to shut up and leave so everyone could hear. It was now nearly noon and I've yet to ride anything! I then walked to El Toro and got 10 rides in a row. They closed all the rides around 2 because of storms 15 miles near the area. I understand that. I went to my hotel and came back later and got lots of rides. Saturday was good except for all the G.P. puking!
  12. The Ninja ridops are normally good - the "2 Charles." Maybe they were off that day. Normally a good experience there.
  13. For me never a good time for that ride (not on my to do list), especially getting stuck in the heat.
  14. Kinda Krap SOB It maybe El Toro, I'm not sure which is taller. I love E.T.
  15. Sure, I'll buy this!!! This is believable...
  16. I've been at Hershey the past 2 days, and tomorrow too. This construction has a very small footprint right now. You can see it the best from Comet. It's my first ride of the day here.
  17. I guess I'm the exception to the rule. Even though I'll be 59 this year, I can't get enough rides! This year I've ridden more rides than ever, and my first summer has just started. I've ridden 1447 this year, and I'm on my PA / NJ coastercation. I guess I'm going through my second childhood. I can't get enough.. My TPR screen name says it all!!! I do choose my rides wisely (no spin & pukes or rough rides). I love to hit 25 - 30 (or more) rides a day. So far this warm weather is keeping people away so I can ride. My goal is 2K and with the TPR trips (Bizarro Bash & Deep South) and my job travels it's doable!
  18. Stock price tells the story of debt load. If Cedar Fair had been relieved of 100% of their debt a year ago, their stock price story would be better than Six Flags. I agree what you're saying about the 2 stock prices. I still stand by my comment on park operations 6 Flags better than CF.
  19. Cedar Point is going to do something with Mean Streak. They will either go the "Rocky Mountain treatment way" (like NTAG), or tear it down and put in a new coaster back there. Having something else in the queue would be foolish with the new ride or rework of Mean Streak.
  20. According to the Six Flags website they have Santa Maria style Tri-Tip sandwiches. If Santa Maria style BBQ is done right it can be pretty good. I was there the week it opened several months ago, and it's nothing like the last place . My meal was poor at best. It doesn't even smell as good as the last place as you pass by going to Riddler. Just me 2 cents.
  21. Just be sure to use the test seat before getting into the queue line. That will save time and frustration. I hope you make it! It's an amazing ride - my #1 wood!
  22. Agreed! "Big Dick" said at the Coastermania meeting that they won't spend $20 million for the "Rocky Mountain treatment" on Mean Streak.
  23. I both disagree and agree with your points. I do enjoy Maggie (Magnum), but if they had a little padding in the seats it would be really a great ride. I don't have much natural padding, unlike many riders. I'm not a fan of Maverick at all. Yes, there are moments of airtime (which I love), but because of the restraints and the Intamin trademark QDC's (quick direction changes), I can't ride with my arms up to enjoy. Soft restraints would go a long way to improve the experience for me. I was at Busch Gardens last week and rode Cheetah Hunt (Intamin with QDC's) . I bring this up since these turns are taken at a slower speed than Maverick, and I can ride "arms up." I rode it 1 day 10 times and had bruises thanks to the hard restraints. I'm not saying slow down Maverick, but soft restraints (a la Intimidator 305) for EVERYONE!!
