CGA Halloween Haunt TR 10/4
GhostRider16 replied to KGA29's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I didn't want to make a new topic so I guess I'll just post here. I went to CGA's Haunt with my friends last night and we had a blast. It wasn't quite as good as I was expecting just because I am so used to the Knotts Haunt, but it was understandable since it is their first real Haunt with Cedar Fair. It has some great potential for the years to come. One of the negative things that I saw was the fact that they were so under staffed. There were places in the mazes that it was obvious that there should have been monsters and there was none. Now that I think about it that was the only real negative thing besides the lack of more mazes, but I am sure there will be more added in the future. As for the positives, I really enjoyed the theming . They did a good job at making the whole park look really cool. The theming of the mazes was definitely up to the standards of Knotts Scary Farm's. The talent that was there was amazing. Werewolf Canyon was the best maze by far. Like KGA29 said earlier, the creepiness factor was definitely there. At one point I really did feel like I was being chased down by a werewolf. lol Also the scare zone over by the bridge (I think it was Dead Man's Cove) was the best scare zone with the best talent. My group pretty much just walked back and forth through it a few times just because they were so good. This year was a lot of fun and I can't wait to see what they have new for next year. -

TPR Members Working At Parks
GhostRider16 replied to BrownStreak's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I work at Knotts as a ride op on Perilous as well. Yay go Perilous crew! lol Anyway, I also ocasionally work riptide or bumper cars but now a day I'm pretty much at Perilous every day. So if you ever go to Knotts, head on over to Perilous Plunge and say hey, I'm normally the only girl that is working there. The hours are crazy but I'm loving my job and the people I'm working with so it's all good. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
GhostRider16 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ah haha the people that we have to deal with. lol You missed it today after you left, a lady wanted to bring one of her giant bears that she won on the ride and actually strap it in like a person. lol She couldn't figure out why i wouldn't let her. -

I have had quite a few people ask me if Perilous Plunge goes upside down. Keep in mind that you can see the entire ride from the station. I had another guy over at the bumper cars complaining about how slow the bumper cars go (they do go slow but thats not the point lol). He then went on to tell me that the bumper cars at CGA went over 50 mph. haha that would be interesting. -
What's wrong with Knott's?
GhostRider16 replied to Fredlv1's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I realize that Knotts is changing, but there practically isn't any park out there that is in it's original state for good reason. I hate that they took out some of the original stuff like the original berry stand but things have to change sometimes. At least they are adding things and trying to better their park rather than just let it decay. With additions like Pony Express and Sierra Sidewinder they are trying to bring in a variety of people to their park. I saw a few pages back that someone said that Jaguar was boring. Of course it is for us, but kids love it. When I go to the park with any of my nephews or younger cousins that is the first thing that they run to in the park. I do agree with the fact that most the employees that work there are horrible. When I was working there I couldn't stand half the people that I was working with, which is probably why I quit after a few months. It's mainly teenagers that only care about getting a few bucks and most of them don't care what they are doing or how they are acting. However, there are some employees that work there, like the ladies that work in the bakery by Ghostrider and a few others, that love their job which helps bring the park atmosphere up. I still go to Knotts quite often and I cant really see the resemblance to SFMM ten years ago at all other than the employees. The park is always spotless and its mainly families that visit. As with any park I hope it does improve but I dont think it is as bad as you think it is. -
Weirdest Things The 'GP' Have Said
GhostRider16 replied to maliboomer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
In the short time that I worked at Knotts I heard some pretty funny things from the guests. 1. Guest- "Where is Viper?" Me-"Um Viper is not at this park, its at Six Flags. But there are plenty of other rides here that you can ride" Guest- "No its here!, it should be right over that hill." I tried to explain to her that that was Magic Mountain and not Knotts but she wouldn't listen. lol 2. I cant even begin to count how many different names guests have for Xcelerator. I have heard Excalibur, exhilerater, that pink and blue one, the cotton candy colored one, and a million and one other names. But we cant expect people that haven't been to the park a lot to know names. I just got a kick out of it every time. I have heard so many other good ones but I'm just to tired to remember them right now. -
I hate trying to study for 5 midterms in one week while stupid drunk people in my dorms are screaming and running down my hall acting like 5 year olds. I just don't get these people, I know they have to be having midterms too. ugh

Weird Roller Coaster Dreams
GhostRider16 replied to alpengeistdude321's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I had one right after the west coast bash. My friends and I were riding DejaVu after we had exited the loop going forward we were all in a sudden not connected to the track, it wasn't like we derailed, it was more just floating there. Jay, Tim and Neal were standing there showing a group how they had a new safety feature that they were testing out that stopped riders from falling. It was really weird, I haven't had a dream involving coasters that was that vivid ever. -
The future of Animatronics?

That thing is creepy, but kind of cool at the same time. I'm amazed how it was able to stay upright after being kicked and sliding on the ice. -
Pacific Park sold for $34 million
GhostRider16 replied to speedracer's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
As lame as the park is I would hate to see it torn down. That coaster was my first "real" coaster, so it means a lot to me. I can remember going on it over and over. I was so proud to be going on a ride that was tall than the carnival dragon coasters. So hopefully the park will stay open and end up in good hands. -
I wanted to thank everyone that put together the event. I had a blast. It was so much more than I could have ever imagined! The tours were awesome and the ERT was amazing. Having all the coasters open just for us was great. I also really enjoyed talking with Jay for a while. It's good to hear that Six Flags has plans for the future. Again, I want to thank everyone at RideWorld, Theme Park Review and Six Flags for making this all possible! I look forward to the next event!

Ha ha, no that's not me. I have about 7 or 8 friends that want to go not 131. I think I finally got some of my friends hooked on coasters so they want to see what an event like this would be like. I saw that there was no limit to the event i just wasn't sure how many guests we could have on one order. So now I know. Thanks
