  1. Man yeah seriously I thought I remembered that but everyone kept telling me I was crazy... I thought that the wild mouse was seriously tight...
  2. There were a few rides in England that definitely had some choppers that were pretty scary. I think the Wild Mouse in Blackpool has a very close clearance on the lift. Besides that I actually managed to hit a plant on the Collosus at Thorpe park on the final barrel roll... I gotta say that really surprised me... Seriously though the tunnel on the Twister 2 at Elitch gardens still scares the crap out of me. I have never managed to keep my hands up on that. Just really really scares me...
  3. Man... I honestly can't understand why it sounds so crap... Seriously it just sounds bad... I swear they must have been recording Robb with something pretty bad. He just sounds like hollow or something. Oooh and Robb confirmed that you guys are planning trips for next year.... Guess it is time to start saving... Quick question how will the news go out?
  4. Please in the future don't try to pan the camera while the ride is running... It just doesn't work well. Try to find good positions to shoot from and then work with them. The panning just ends up painful (although I believe there is an interface for a scripted sequence but it is secret and supposedly not too friendly). Also please never use that effect you used at the beginning. It just made me feel ill after compression. Otherwise the ride looks pretty fun. I'm thinking about building a similar ride using some block brakes to make a semi realistic roll out then launch.
  5. You know truth be told I think that slow loops can be just as thrilling as fast ones because you get the actual sensation of being upside down instead of just a short look at the world inverted. I think it would be really fun on that ride but I honestly don't know when I will ever get to Drayton Manor. Maybe just maybe Six Flags might bless Elitches with a new unique ride soon. Yeah right...
  6. Don't worry about finding out when... I mean seriously just subscribe using iTunes and new episodes will download automatically to your computer when they are available. Just click subscribe in the podcast info page and it will automatically be delivered to you. If you have an iPod it will even keep your place (though my 3rdGen one doesn't seem to be working with that feature...)
  7. Just grab iTunes and you can click 2 things and you will be downloading the episode. Literally... They have that iTunes 1 click thing and you are directed to the iTunes page then click on the 7/25/2005 show and click the "Get Episode" button or you can subscribe by hitting the subscribe button at the top. iTunes is easily the easiest way to manage podcasts now.
  8. Hey Robb I know this might be asking too much but it seems like a bit too much to have that huge list with all the info about the locations of the parks and the like. I mean I guess a page organized by location and one by name might be a bit much... But well... I've also seen some dynamic pages where you could open and close sections of the lists... Dunno how feasible that is. I guess right now it is just like information overload in those lists. Honestly you know what might help is to use a simple html list and then use CSS to tab over the list items away from the edge. It would make it easier to read and well having a bulleted list looks so damn professional. (heck replace the bullets in CSS with little coasters... ) Anyway I like the way it is going but more space between lines and making it an actual html list for each letter might look better.
  9. Oh man... Now I'm excited... I remember seeing that prototype... I wonder if that company went anywhere. I'm excited now... Woot!!!
  10. I can't wait to do a trip to WaterWorld this year... Plus I still haven't been to Elitches despite the whole having a Season Pass thing... (renewed online...) I'll get there pretty soon. I'll try to post something online about it. One of these days I do need to make it to lakeside but for some reason none of my friends ever want to go there... I'm not really a person who goes to parks alone so I just haven't been.
  11. Honestly that sounded like the pressure was just completely wacky on the brake system. You could hear it pass through every single brake but it wasn't slowing it down at all. Man that has given me an all new reason to worry about Vekoma rides... Still that one didn't look near as painful as the death boomerang that the Elitches one has felt like... I mean their heads hardly moved when they hit the lift chain section... Sorry but when the whole trains heads snap back it is kinda a bad thing... Yep good old Six Flags Elitch Gardens... (Believe it or not the last few seasons the chain has actually had a jerk somewhere in the middle of the lift...)
  12. I hate that you can't really recreate it... Check out http://www.rcdb.com/ig746.htm?picture=7 to see what it looks like.
  13. How anyone can have anything positive to say about that Boomerang is beyond me... I swear every time I feel like I have aged 5 years when I get off it... OMG my back hurts, my neck is screaming and I usually have taken at least 6 blows from the restraint during rough track... Heck I'm probably in the minority but I firmly feel that Flying Coaster is more comfortable than Boomerang... Of course it could have something to do with the fact that I am 6'1" and my legs don't fit in the Boomerang cars and the restraint pushes rather uncomfortably... I think I might hit the park for the first time this season next weekend... I gotta say I am seriously dissapointed that they STILL haven't painted the first corner on the Twister 2... Two years since they did that refurb...
  14. That was a hell of a shakey cam... Otherwise the only thing I would say is be more conservative with the transitions. They shouldn't be so noticable. I hadn't even realized they put that slingshot ride in... I'm a bit disappointed. I was hoping that space would be used for a flat ride next year or so. We are really in need of some new flat rides. Oh and a new coaster wouldn't go astray. Overall review. Great first effort. Little work on the camera work to smooth things out (on rides is understandable but off rides it shook a bit too much). And just tone down the pretty transition usage. Good job though.
  15. Good luck... I hope all your time estimates work out and everything goes smoothly for you. Hopefully the weather will be friendly too. Enjoy all the parks... Also I highly suggest front car on ThunderCoaster at Tusenfryd... I rode in the middle cars and it was a bumpy mess with little air time while the front was a blast. Dunno about the back car.
  16. Moving soil costs a whole heck of a lot. You could probably push an extra 15-20 feet fairly inexpensively and get a great experience but anymore is often prohibitively expensive. I think the deepest coaster is still oblivion at Alton Towers... That thing is like 50ft tall with a 150ft drop I think. Crazy thing. Must have cost a fortune though.
  17. Hey guys sounds like fun. I just got back from a trip to europe more to see people than anything else. While I was in Norway I got to hit Tusenfryd. I just have one suggestion. On Thundercoaster your enjoyment will hinge entirely on where you are in the train. My first ride I was in the front car and it was an absolute joy with plenty of great pops of airtime and some fun corners just one place on the layout that was a bit uncomfortable. My second ride was in the third car (out of four)... Ouch... Bumping all along the track and complete lack of airtime... WTH!!! Also due to lack of language skills I didn't even try to get on the little kiddie coaster... I gotta say on the day I went it was a blast and the lines were tiny. Hilariously the first ride I took on super splash was with full winter jacket and hood up. The morning wasn't exactly the most pleasant but it was seriously warm by the end of the day.
  18. BTW whats with the transition to the different track in that last turn before the lift hill? Is that part of the old ride or what?
  19. Elissa looks very happy while on it... I guess that means that it must be a blast... BTW what the heck is with the transfer section? How is the capacity of it with something like that?
  20. Firefox on my mac and my pc. It is a joy to use. Native tabs, extensions (got weather and the music controller), themeable, just a ton of nice things. The security is better. It won't work on a very few sites but you aren't likely to encounter them too often anyway. In a few days you will forget about IE forever. Honestly though I have been playing with FireFox ever since it was called Phoenix... Man that was a rough time. It crashed all the time. It is really spectacular though. BTW you should use iTunes for music if you don't already. It is the same sort of thing. It isn't that the functionality isn't available in other ways it just works better.
  21. Lets see how you look with a large t-shirt over a bulky jacket... It would kinda suck...
  22. I believe the rumors have said that this is basically taking over the ride system from superstar limo. So I don't even know if they will change the layout or anything. They will probably change the cars but who knows what else.
  23. Has anyone ever used yesasia.com? They seem to have fantastic for an amazing price. I don't know anything about the site so it could be a grey market type thing... Anyone?
  24. I liked the air conditioning... It was very nice to be in there... It was practically walk on so I rode it a few times and enjoyed the cool air in the queue.
  25. So question... Is this just a fairly simple out and back with a long underground tunnel? I just haven't seen much on the layout.
