Compilation theme park video!
kenshinmac replied to jarmor's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Yeah the video was really good... That song needs to be put out of its misery and out of our misery... Someone take it out back and shoot it please... Seriously I would rather have a 5 minute Hamster Dance Mega-Mix... -

RCT3 FPS
kenshinmac replied to CoasterXtreme's topic in Roller Coaster Games, Models, and Other Randomness
Seems even smoother to me... I just got wild and it certainly doesn't hurt things. It also allows you to change transitions from day to night to instantaneous which was one of the things that caused serious framerate drops in the previous versions. I'll keep watching it and keep you updated. -
What the PSP has games now? Sorry... It has to be said that the game variety on the PSP is pretty damn poor still. Heck it has less games coming out a month than the DS. I don't think there is any sort of rollercoaster gaming coming to the system at this point. I mean heck the PS2 only has one semi-rollercoaster related game and it has been out how long... 5 years... Yeah I don't see it happening... Sorry to burst your bubble.

Season Passes question?
kenshinmac replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I don't think you can even technically get a Six Flags pass for a park that you don't live near... Isn't that right? Thanks for the answer Robb. Maybe I can swing a trip to some other parks... -
Season Passes question?
kenshinmac replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
You could always buy the 2006 season pass now... Elitches is offering them... -
Yes but you do of course realize that just by posting on a website you are ahead of some 60% of the computer using public... Most people don't even do that... Heck your statement really doesn't prove anything. You have obviously used windows before... Not that I am really trying to prove anything but most windows users have never used a Mac seriously. They always come up with the same "oh I used them in school and they were slow and sucked". Well the old os wasn't intended to be secured so they loaded all sorts of weird software on to prevent people from messing with the computers. Without that software things worked much better but any case OSX is really a whole different animal.

Actually there are 0... Repeat 0 known viruses for OSX. There is 1 known trojan that can screw up your system but due to OSXs security features you would have to run it and then enter your administrator password for it to do anything. Beyond that it has not been found in the wild. Also you don't address the fundamental problem with Windows... Most users don't know how to use it... OSX is extremely easy to use with most apps installing through a simple drag and drop. Windows has you go through tons of freaking screens in some install wizard which is always overly complicated. Then there are quite a few programs that freak if you move them from where they were installed. I'm sorry but thats hardly acceptable these days IMHO. I think Microsoft really should be doing a better job. I mean they have hundreds more people working on their OS than Apple does so why can't they come up with even half the good features? I would wholeheartedly agree... Never switch to a mac to play games... Heck switch because you are sick of the constant security updates... Switch because you want something you can run without a virus scanner always stealing cycles. Switch because OSX just works almost all the time and drag and drop really works the way it should(heck even making a DVD is as simple as drag and drop the video clips onto the place you want them in iDVD). Just remember that if you do switch it is a different OS... Half the people who complain about the Mac OS after switching are trying to use it like windows. It just doesn't work that way. Oh and just so people know I do run a windows XP machine and a Mac so it isn't like I am not coming from some experience.

To be fair ME is the worst windows since 2... Still I think that is an excellent machine you have there. I am glad you are enjoying it. People who have only used windows just don't understand but things really are that much easier and people can get emotionally attached to their macs. I have never seen a person say that they love thier PC... Enjoy the machine and definitely check out programs like Adium for IM. Macupdate.com is one of my favorite site for mac software.

Where In The World Do TPR Members Live?
kenshinmac replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hey guys... I'm feeling kinda lonely in the middle of the country... Someone else in CO post their location... Whoa... Holy Glitches Batman... I can click on like 3 different dots and get Robbs profile and several and mine comes up... Seriously weird... It also doesn't seem to scale the map properly. Still it is a nice first step for Google. -
Of course there is the little thing about productivity... Mac users are consistently shown to get more done on their computers... Perhaps it is the lack of installed Solitaire. Perhaps the fact that the OS actually works most of the time. Perhaps it is the fact that Drag and Drop is a rule rather than a guideline. Maybe the fact that there are no viruses for OSX has something to do with it... Maybe the fact that there is no Spyware? Oh I don't know. Sure you can build a PC for gaming for cheap but that is all it is... Cheap parts with a pretty damn crappy OS. Apple users want something better. Seriously don't even try to argue because until you don't need an installer and an unistaller for Windows you have no ground to argue on. In OSX most programs are completely self contained so you just drag them over and they work. It is ideal for people who have never worked with computers before and terribly convenient for those who have. Apple designs well made machines that fit a users needs. It just so happens that most aren't designed to be game machines as that is a terribly small portion of computer users. Oh and upgrades may cost more but not that much more. Besides Apple is moving to Intel based systems, over the next year and a half, which should make upgrades even more feasible. Seriously though why do Windows only owners spout off about things they don't understand... You can find almost any program you need on a Mac. Sure there might not be 20,000 of them that almost do the same thing but you don't need that. There are only a few things that are really limiting.

The park that TPR built!

Well I added what I said should go by my Log Flume... Now it has a MineRide next door and it all fits really really well IMHO. I will post pics over the next few minutes. I think it looks pretty nice and it has some nice speed on the ride. official_tpr_park_10_24_05.SV6 Park File Nice little pic of a train going through the layout. Hope you guys like it... -
Williams Grove Closing?
kenshinmac replied to CoasterFanatic's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
So Robb did you have a POV of this on any of the DVD sets... I think I might be picking that one up just to have some sort of sample of the thing... If only X-mas season wasn't coming I would probably order a few of your dvd sets... nm... Just looked it is on the 2004... That is one I have been meaning to order anyway... Yeah so I corrected myself before I even posted... I do that all the time... -

Pics... C'mon people... -
Just btw... Intamin... Looks like you had some fun. I'm hoping to hit the park again next weekend. You know I bet the Thunderbolt is gonna be moving... That is one heck of a disassembly. Maybe where Chaos is now... Maybe something big (blinks... damn... winks...) will go where Thunderbolt is now... We need something new.

Ok so I did what I said I would... Added a pretty nice Log Flume. Hope you guys like it... Ok pics and file are up... Tell me what you think of Loggerheads... official_tpr_park_10-23-05.SV6 Park File Overall shot of the park by the ride... Personally I think there should be a mineride (you know the powered mine train) right in that empty spot by Loggerheads. Shot of Loggerheads... I know a bad pun but the ride is pretty cool right? -
Elitch Gardens, requests?
kenshinmac replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
See if you can actually get them to let you POV Half-Pipe... They seem to get anxious about anything bigger than sunglasses... Oh and the person asking about the stuff for next season... Chaos was still there was I hit the park like 2 weeks ago. The only thing gone was the lit sign that was mounted behind the ride. Oh actually you should try walking around the edge of the park and get a shot of the old Twister 2 train that is STILL sitting beside the track... (perfectly legal just use the city path by the river) They replaced those trains ages ago... Why is it still sitting there? BTW Twister2 the suggestion is that EG might (a very big might) get the Astroworld Swatter. I highly doubt it will happen although I think it would easily fit. -

No dice... None of your pics work... Try reducing the size and you should be able to post them directly to these boards. Just make them jpegs and keep scaling them down till they work. It shouldn't be too hard. -
Twister II video
kenshinmac replied to Twister II's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I love the fact that you can still see the old cars sitting next to the track... What the heck is going on with that anyway? Seriously they have been there forever... BTW when did you film this? When I was there the first weekend in Oct the Thunderbolt didn't have the tent cover over it. Oh and Chaos was still completely intact with just the large sign mounted behind it missing... -
