  1. I guess that they had some issues today with putting up a new show so instead they took a short segment cut from Robbs time on the show and put it up instead. It is pretty good... Well worth checking out. Just thought I would give people the heads up. Man Robb you really need to get on more shows... Either that or you need your own... This stuff is really good.
  2. Good to hear that you aren't going to go with a longer format. I love things the way they are. Besides it would get hard to keep it funny if it was any longer. Heck I like the single theme and single topic. If people keep asking for more maybe you should go for a midweek show to keep us going till your weekend show(maybe just record both shows during the weekend then release one during the week). I'm sure you could find someone who would do it. Beyond that I do subscribe to the daily news. Did you guys submit that to the iTunes site as well? It is nice to have the stuff quickly come up when you search but only the weekend show comes up so far.
  3. Um whats up with the Six Flags California banners in front of the Revolution? I've never been to Magic Mountain but were they flirting with a new name at some point? That being said how big is this ride going to be? I mean seriously... This thing looks like it could be crazy big. I can't help but think that Six Flags must do the same sort of accounting as good old Bush...
  4. I think it is a bit of a joke on the fact that the Japanese don't have sounds to match certain letters in the english language. I think r and l are basically pronouned r no matter what... So if you try to read it that way it should make a bit more sense. I don't think he meant it to be offensive just a bit of a joke... Hey people make fun of english speakers all the time... Of course we deserve it most of the time.
  5. Are you kidding me?? Halfpipe sucks. It would be sooo much better without the OTSR'S! My head felt like a ping pong ball inside those restraints! The ride would be alot scarier with simple lap bars too... I think the main reason Halfpipe has OTSR is that there is no where to mount a lap bar... I mean look at the damn thing... I love the ride and have no real problems at all. I don't move much at all in it and the restraints are plenty comfortable for me. The majority of the rides at the park are rather uncomfortable... In fact when I rode Mind Eraser for the first time this year I got a pretty bad shot from the restraint... Well you know how it works... Ugh Vekoma restraints seem to kill me... Always the wrong height.
  6. I think Robb definitely needs to be back to argue the reasons why he shouldn't be banned... Either that or there should be a waterpark theme show right in the middle of winter just to be completely ass backwards... What would be really cool would be if you guys could secure some of the people behind the rides in this country. I would seriously love to hear some of the engineers and designers behind next years rides... Boring maybe but informative. Ok yeah I have nothing... BTW thanks for keeping the show short guys... Honestly In The Loop is my favorite podcast because you can easily causually listen to it between other things. Too many podcasts are pushing 45 or more minutes... I really just don't find enough time to listen to those even if they are just weekly.
  7. Hmm... Are these white Ts thick enough that they don't go see through on water rides? Important question for a theme park site right?(of course which answer you prefer will depend on your maturity... Well and whether you want to wear them) This is a great move IMHO as I honestly prefer light colors most of the year at parks as they just aren't as hot. I'm really thinking about an order for this and the last 2 dvds... Hmm... (Sorry I'm late to the game... I mostly hang in the Video Games forum...)
  8. So when do we get to see Robb modeling one... Sorry it had to be asked...
  9. Yeah there definitely needs to be a wooden coasters special... (pitch it please... ) The public needs to know how great these things can be. Maybe throw some of these new wooden coasters on the video... I mean just have a group of different wooden coasters and maybe do a bit of focus on the different manufacturers and what they are bringing to the mix to combat the prevalance of steel coasters. You know like look at the millenium flyer trains from GCI, the amazing track that Intamin is making, and the amazing 90° banks from Gravity Group... Personally I think we are in the middle of a rennaisance of wooden coasters. There are an awful lot of smaller parks that can't afford the latest B&M model with go faster stripes and many of them are now going for a custom wooden coaster instead of an off the shelf vekoma. It is a great move all around because the wooden coaster is unique and it will draw more guests than a ride people can ride almost anywhere. I am really looking forward to hearing more about this project. I can't wait to see how it turns out. Please make sure Robb makes topics about updates or at least bump this to the front page. It has been a few years since the last coaster show I can remember from the Discovery networks.
  10. OMG you guys own... Now we just need to pass the disney parks then the world will be ours... I mean Robbs. Not that I intend to overthrow anyone... No... Not at all... (Laughs Manically... Yet still has no idea what this post was really about.)
  11. Is that a wooden coaster with 3 lift hills on the ride?.. Thats kinda nuts... Park looks pretty nice. A little bright for my tastes but I will have to download it later to check out the wooden coaster.
  12. Very nice park. It looks like a lot of fun. I can't wait for you to post the file so I can look at all the stuff you put underground.
  13. I guess for me the biggest appeal of Wooden coasters is that they don't have to push some record with every new coaster. It is all about the ride. You get some that are just airtime machines with plenty of out of seat moments. Then you get other wooden coasters that are so twisted you swear that it shouldn't be possible. Then there are the trains which in general tend to be more roomy and comfortable since they require less restraints. There is just something about wooden coasters that just seems unsullied by modern technology. They are still a heck of a lot of fun for the same reasons they have always been. I mean the new ones with the 90 degree banks are nuts but it is still all about the airtime and the twists and turns. You know the other thing about wooden coasters is they don't build many clones of them... That is a definite positive. I just love that fact.
  14. Um just a suggestion... I wouldn't allow trainers because they can corrupt the files and cause problems with the actual program... I think people can do just fine with the standard set of settings for RCT2. Just say no to trainers... RCT2 gets fragile enough with custom scenery...
  15. This is likely the first and only time someone will thank you for wasting their bandwidth... I'm gonna enjoy it... Still Robb thats kinda scary... I mean you ranked above ParamountParks... WTH does that say? You guys should ceremonially burn something... I don't know maybe a roll of toilet paper but something must be burned in celebration of this occasion. Oh and I want to see some pics. Congrats Robb and Elissa. Keep up the good work. I'll continue to keep an eye on your site. BTW Robb any chance of an RSS feed for front page updates? I loves my RSS...
  16. How about "Precipice"?
  17. That must have been one heck of a show... BOOOM!!! Ok so yeah I guess I should be worried about people but with no reports of injuries I should get a little time to contemplate the explosion... BOOM!!! Ok... I'm done.
  18. Yeah RCT3 is a lot more demanding than RCT2 & 1. You need to really go for consistent themes around rides and try to dress things up. It still seems kinda hit or miss whether riders will like a ride. I have had some rides that were very similar and one was just swamped with riders for ages and the other was just about empty. I know it can be a bit frustrating but try adding more scenery of one type to the area around the ride and keep working at it. Make the rides overlap and go through each other when possible. It all helps. Gradually you will get the feeling of what works and what doesn't. Overall you just have to accept that the rides just will never be as popular as they are in RCT 1&2.
  19. Wait why is the file size listed at 125bytes? That is smaller than a picture... That can't possibly be a video... Is the file size listed wrong?
  20. Well thanks. It honestly just took me a long time to get some of the theming in my main entry to where I was fairly happy with it. It has been a lot of fun talking with you two on these boards and I really hope you just need a bit of time away. Hopefully you will come back and at least hang out with us on the video games boards here if not anywhere else. In any case enjoy things and don't get too serious about anything. Heck I worry way too much for anyone but I'm working on it... Just try to enjoy things for what they are. Well I'll keep my fingers crossed that we see you again somehow.
  21. I hope I'm not the one who you interpreted as going to all sorts of lengths to win... I mean heck I can't help but be a little disappointed when the highest voting total I have gotten in two contests is 6%... I've been frustrated and I hope that wasn't misinterpreted. I mean with the Invert coaster I was at least close to start with but I got all but 1 of my votes in the first 2 days. It was just really hard to watch some of them just screaming ahead of mine. I guess the reason it was frustrating was the winner of the first contest was very realistic and the winner of the second contest was nigh unrideable. Oh and pucechan... I don't think "being a man of your word" is necessarily the best thing here. It means you aren't even willing to give us another chance. I think thats kindof a poor thing. Sure there are people who just want attention who post like this but we will miss you guys. You have made an effort to make something good happen on a disused forum. Honestly to both of you this really came out of the blue for me. I had no idea anyone was taking things this seriously. I agree that some people can be a drag on forums but you talk to them try to get it sorted. Tell them what annoyed you and try to move on. Heck my friends have all pissed me off at times. Does that mean I stopped talking to them? Hell no I have few enough friends as it is. Please don't let a few bad eggs ruin the whole thing. You guys have been a pretty big source of the life on this board. Well anyway I guess I can't do anything but hope you will come back. I would IM you and stuff but Yahoo is the one service I refuse to use. I have never gotten spim on any other service but the times I have gotten onto Yahoo I have been hit with people advertising porn pages within seconds. Disappointing for sure and everytime I tried using it for nearly 6 months it kept happening.
  22. What you didn't know the TPR forum has like 10 of the necessary qualities to be called a cult? Once you go in you never get out... (Ok yeah... I'm talking out of my ass but hey it was funny right... Kinda like in Ace Ventura) Seriously though crispy any idea when the voting and new comp will happen? I need something to take my mind off of exams this week.
  23. Ok Bocakey and PuceChan you two really shouldn't leave us. Just stay away from the Random and Ask Alvey areas. I haven't seen anything bad happen in the video games and the coasters areas... You shouldn't dismiss an entire community just because you run into a few jerks. Heck if people did that there would be a lot more toothless hermits hanging out in the mountains. Just choose where you help and where you don't. I guess I am pretty used to crazy fights on forums... I mean heck I frequent a few of the console boards on IGN and visit some on other sites. That being said I get really annoyed sometimes but I realise it is only one person I am annoyed with. Ultimately it really isn't worth worrying about that one person when it will get in the way of my enjoyment.
  24. Ok so I guess this is kinda like any list but hey it can have positive rides and ones that are so torturous you have to ride them just to experience them. So I personally will say: Collosus at Thorpe Park - Not the greatest ride I have ever been on but the feeling of doing the 4 heartline rolls in a row are just a kick especially with your hands up... Oh and hitting a weed under the final heartline was kinda crazy for me... Oh and those cars are possibly the tightest things ever... I hit my head at least 5 times the last time we were at the park getting in and out of the car. (Ok I'm not coordinated... ) Just to clarify though the seats are more comfortable than any vekoma, if you can get into them... Any Volare Model - yeah they beat you up a bit but if you ride so that you have to go on tip toes to hit the pads you can be fairly comfortable. Personally it is all about that first portion of the ride where the whole car tips down and your feet are actually higher than your head. Crazy feeling... Well worth riding at least once or twice because you can't get the same feeling on any other flying coaster.
  25. OMG I was trying to figure out what the building was next to the ride... Thats the queue. Yikes... I would hate to be stuck in that line.
