  1. I read over at Screamscape this article... is Knott's getting a new coaster? www.screamscape.com/html/knott_s_berry_farm.htm I'd hate to see Bigfoot Rapids and the Mystery Lodge go.
  2. Pretty sure that ABC picked Liseberg because not many people in the USA know about it. It's cooler to go "exotic". After all, it is "almost German or something".
  3. I can totally ride Sheikra.
  4. I went Friday the 27th, the longest line we waited in was the Asylum maze. That was a whopping 25 mins long. [: Jurassic Park in the Dark was the highlight of the night, right after the Terror Tram, which kinda sucked because I had a terrible case of scarers going after the people right in front of me. And they stop suddenly, and you bump into them, people get pissed, and everyone just keeps waddling through. That House of Horrors thing was pathetic, why didn't they just stick with the Van Helsing maze? Overall it was pretty great. I think they need a little more practice in this park to do their own thing, as opposed to following USF.
  5. That makes sense. Just a wild guess: Psyclone and Déjà Vu=closed.
  6. Those new trains sure are snazzy. Are they permanent? I haven't been to SFMM in a while.
  7. I can't wait to see the main character in the movie talk in crescendo-diminuendo mode. This is going to be the greatest movie everto hit theaters we hope youenjoy it 'cause that'd be cool.Oh yeah. Own that. http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail104.html Wait until he talks about his old tour business. Towards the end.
  8. Which do you think would be more crowded, Friday the 13th, or Saturday the 14th?
  9. I was thinking of going to the DCA scare thing, but I think it will end up being just another day at DCA with kids in costumes. Knott's: the 8th. Universal: The 14th. Yup.
  10. ^ I guess he just decided to take off the FD3 parody ones.
  11. Meh... I've ridden both and a combo tower, but I have never ridden a Turbo Drop, unless you count ToT at Disneyland's CA Adventure (-1.3 Gs! [ Anyway, I prefer Drop Towers. The anticipation is like no other. On a Space Shot, all of the suspense is at the bottom, which isn't very amazing. Freefall gets my vote. Combo towers are just stupid. They aren't very fun. Or at least the one at Adventuredome isn't.
  12. I just saw FD3 yesterday, so before that I didn't quite get it.
  13. I'm really glad they are selling all six parks as a package so some real estate owner in Valencia wouldn't just pick it off to blanket it with homes. It's also too bad Six Flags put these up right after Cedar Fair bought Paramount. I'm sure everyone will be running to SFMM and the other properties for one last trip before it closes and attendance will skyrocket.
  14. ^ The trains are pretty cool... haha
  15. ^ I say that it isn't happening more frequently, I just think that's the first thing the press looks for when it looks for a story. Manson's right [:
  16. You can find more Manson quotes here: http://www.quotationspage.com/search.php3?homesearch=marilyn+manson&startsearch=Search
  17. "Times have not become more violent, just more televised." Would you believe Marilyn Manson said that?
  18. I love this. This is from the Alton Towers update of the UK trip from TPR. Well, Disney had a budget for EE that was in the 100 mil. range, so they went all out! "But as you walk through the hallways, you can see where one hotel ends and the other begins because the sand from the beach starts up. (What will those theming magicians think up next?)"
  19. I agree with the guy who said that the Superman: The Escape station looks "plasticy". Really, the only theming I think is really great at SFMM is Batman. Superman pics below, pics from www.joyrides.com. At the base of the ride, you can see the entrance to Superman's "ice cave". That's pretty much what it looks like inside, except there are some party lights in there, and the boarding area is normal. You'd think Superman could make as fist!
  20. ^ Yeah, I had been on every ride at Knott's besides Supreme Scream since Silver Bullet opened, and I finally went on it, but I'm still reluctant to go on it, or any other drop ride for that matter. It's just that when you are going up, you think "Hey, this isn't that bad!", and then you look up and realize that you're only half way there. That's when I get scared. Same thing happened at SFMM when I went on Freefall. I didn't expect it to be such an amzing experience. I got to the top, and the car went forward, and then I realized that we were wayyy higher than I would have wanted it. And then, for some strange reason, I stopped thinking "It's gonna drop!", and instead I started wondering how the car can transfer tracks from forward to down like it does. And then it dropped, which caught me by total surprise. Damn, that was fun. That's the reason I love the ride so much... it's an unexpected feeling I can't get from any other ride in the park, unlike most of the rollercoasters.
  21. Circus Circus the hotel-casino-resort-etc. in Las Vegas?
  22. I really would love a robotic coaster, but I just can't see that happening. I've seen the travel channel's specials, and one of them showed it as a prototype on a straight 500 foot long test track. It's also on the new expansion pack for RCT3. If and when a robotic coaster comes out, I probably won't trust it enough to ride it.
  23. I hadn't been on it before the "accident".
