In just about any other place in the country, people would barely notice even this sort of rain. They would take it in stride, not drive like total morons, and basically go about their business same as any other day. But since it's here, we get STORM WATCH 2014! LIVE TEAM COVERAGE OF HEAVY DRIZZLE AND SOME WATER THAT HASN'T MADE IT INTO A DRAIN YET! RMC will lose maybe a day from this. They should be proactive in scheduling construction around Valencia's normal "rainy season" in Jan-March but we'll see.

This is where I am too, which has me puzzled as to how some people are able to use Feds. -

I've completed Tunnel 6 but I'm still locked out of Tunnel 7. What gives? -
This is terrific news. TCM does great work keeping the old time greats alive. This new partnership will bring much needed new life into this attraction and park. It's also about the closest thing to the return of Vault Disney I think we're ever going to see. I'll for sure have the DVR set for the Treasure from the Disney Vault days!

Airtime, as I understand it, is when your butt stops making contact with the seat. Call me whatever, but somehow I doubt the train will be going that fast straight out of the station to actually do that in any significant degree. So it seems dumb to overhype it in an overly boastful stat about the coaster. Makes no sense to do that when I'm sure there's enough awesomeness about this coaster to actually talk about. That's the point I was trying to make. As for the bolded part, perhaps you would be happier spending your time on another forum?

So far so good! Awesome job on the TPR photos and videos seen at the booths. They look great! -
As someone who was there for the Wacky Soapbox Racers, Parachute drop and Kingdom of the Dinos days, I can tell you that Knott's is every bit the excellent family park today that it was then. People too often look at the past more fondly than it really was. Sure Soapbox Racers and KOD were great rides that I had fun with my family on then. But to be perfectly and terribly honest here, I would not expect them 20+ years later to be just like they were then. The world changes too fast. The theme park industry changes too fast. Rides that last 20-30 years or longer are the exceptions and the exceptional. Just because those Knott's rides did not last that long in no way changes Knott's away from being an excellent family park then to now. I just wish more people who have a fondness for any park's past would look at the past from then to now with more of a sense of "Hey, these rides were cool then, but look at the stuff we can have fun on right now today!" and just enjoy themselves. Camp Snoopy today is the best I have EVER seen it, and I used to be able to ride Huff n' Puff. I wish I could take my nephews on Wacky Soapbox Racers, but they will like Coast Rider. My sister and I rode the parachute drop back in the day, but we would have a great time on Supreme Scream. Any family that would have enjoyed Kingdom of the Dinos then will enjoy Voyage to the Iron Reef when it opens. Times change. Generations come and go. The important point is that through all that way, we can still come to parks like Knott's with family/friends and have a great time. Yes, the kids will have different memories than us, but that's how it ought to be. I would expect nothing less across the passage of time.

I'm happy the old Kingdom of the Dinosaurs building is being used again for what looks like it will be a fantastic new ride. After going for so long with that building being complete closed off, no doubt there will be fond memories of what used to be as we discover all that is new once the ride is ready and open. KOD will not return, neither will Bear-y Tales, and that's fine. We will always have our memories. What's most important is that Knott's will have a killer state-of-the-art immersive experience. One that is sure to draw crowds and give a new generation a chance to make the same kinds of memories that we did with Iron Reef's predecessors all those years ago.

What do YOU take with you to a park?
PeoplemoverMatt replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My standard equipment is keys, wallet, phone, point & shoot camera. It can all fit in pockets, and into zippered pockets in the case of coasters with inversions and hang time and such. If the park's name has "Disney" somewhere in it, then I'll usually bring a courier bag with snacks or whatever else who I'm going with might be interested in partaking of throughout the day. -

I'm on "The Whole Truth Pt. 5" (just started this game a little while ago) and it says "Make Kang Reflect on his Situation" 0/1. So I tap "Do it" and I'm brought to the building screen. Is it asking me to build the Portal to Rigel 7? I'm not sure what it wants me to do here. -
I agree Universal HHN is far too crowded. The absurd wait times is one of the many reasons why I prefer Knott's Haunt over HHN. There's just no way you're getting the value for your ticket if you're stuck doing nothing but waiting in line for 3 hours for one maze. Gate A can solve this, yes, but it comes at a high additional cost, and only works once per maze. As for Infected's capacity, I think KBF did a pretty good job with it. It could have been much worse had they not handed out the return time cards or had Infected been exiled out to Soak City, which would have been the mother of all logistical nightmares for all involved. There is a LOT of room for improvement in how the cards are distributed, where guests are told to go, how the whole procedure is communicated to guests and so forth, but the attraction itself I thought was quite well executed. I loved running around having the scare actor zombies after us, trying to break into whatever room we tried to hide in, have guests try to solve puzzles under duress. That kind of thing was awesome. I also don't see any reason why any scores should be tracked as that seemed to distract from the attraction, and in some cases tempted guests into doing things they shouldn't just to inflate their score. There's a lot of room for plussing but it was a good first time. Can't wait to see what new enhancements are brought to it next year, assuming it comes back at all.

I would say the Haunt pass should be blacked out on Halloween and/or the last Saturday before Halloween, but that would most likely only result in the same scenario playing out on whatever becomes the Haunt pass' last valid Saturday night. The overall point to me would seem to be, if crowds aren't your thing, don't go on the last weekend that's in/around Halloween. I don't think any park should completely overwhelm their entire Haunt program for the 5-6 weeks or however long it goes on for just because on/around Halloween, it gets crazy. If guest safety becomes an issue, cap off ticket sales, or increase prices for Halloween and its weekend.
