Well I've still got many hours left with RCT3 before I even come close to being "done" with that game so I guess I'll stick with that. Am I crazy or does it seem to anyone else like people wanted to be smarter 10-15 years ago so they gravitated towards games like RCT and such, while today people are clamoring for all sorts of ways to become dumber? "Oh it's ok because it's just a mobile game!" Yes, a mobile game that will do nothing to enhance your knowledge of how a park is run, how a coaster works, why you can't have 17 loops in one coaster, how a wood wild mouse can actually be a really fun ride, what a side-friction wood coaster even is, or any of that. No play this game where wooden coasters apparently have loops that look *just like* a steel coaster's loops and can be totally unsupported! Dumb that will make you dumber. This is apparently what Atari thinks people want, and sadly I think they are correct. People want that which makes them dumber nowadays. Dumb is what sells. That's just my feel with how things are going lately.

The article basically puts everybody in a complete no win situation. We can't look at the fat person. We can't notice the fat person. We can't even try to help the fat person because it's somehow dubious and unhelpful. So I guess we're supposed to high five the fat person and lie to them by saying all is totally cool with their health? I'm 6'2" and I used to weigh almost 300 pounds. I had a 50+" waist at one point in my life. Then I realized I was being a moron with my food choices. Between changing those and about eight months of serious exercise, I dropped under 200. While I'm not saying this is what all fat people should look to do, a fat person should recognize not being able to fit into most public seating areas like roller coasters, banging into people, etc as a problem that can be solved. Moreover, they should not lash out at someone who legitimately cares about their well-being enough to warn of the coming dangers, or worse provides suggestions that would help. If society can no longer recognize problems because people are so oversensitive to the point where any and all messengers of unhappy news are shot on sight, society is flat out doomed beyond all hope.

I would love it if that outer ring is used for Guest Control routes while the inner ring and everything inside is for unobstructed parade/fireworks viewing. That would be great. Wonder if there will be areas for people who made FP+ reservations to view a parade or fireworks in that area, and where will they be?

Can't wait to ride this when I'm in Vegas for TCONA in August! -
Well anyone who already hates the system willl jump on something like this in an attempt to demonstrate how correct they are. It's more an ego-stroke than an attempt to provide factual and correct information about FP+. It's great to see they have these fall back measures already in place, and obviously brought them out without too much delay or mixup. I'd like to see some other park/resort show this level of preparedness while still being in the testing/rollout phase.
-
From what I can see, MDE requires having purchased park admissions, then use the unique number to be granted access to make advance FP+ reservations. Currently my plan is to get discounted admissions from a 3rd party ticket broker (a legit one) when we arrive. Their office is just up the road from Crossroads off the eastern border of WDW. Being on the other side of the country means I can't exactly just pop in early to get the tickets. Does anyone have experience with these agencies and trying to remotely obtain the necessary info so as to make FP+ reservations? Any advice?
-
Probably by how they weren't totally confused by the whole paper ticket FastPass system, which in many ways is much more confusing than FP+ looks to be. Just booked my next WDW trip for May so I've got a little bit of time before I can start making FP+ reservations. The ability to pre-schedule FP times is a great perk. I just hope they open up the availability to more than one park on a given day for us park hopping types soon. Maybe provide another 2 FP times at one other park with purchase of Park Hopper? Wouldn't mind seeing that pop up in the near future as the rollout/testing continues.

It's not like a timed allotment of free parking is some foreign concept. Almost every parking lot for an attraction, venue, or shopping area has one. If people can't bring themselves to care in the slightest by reading the signs to know how much time they have, they deserve to be slapped with the $25 fee. Is $0 to $25 immediately a little harsh compared to most lots? Sure, but there's a gravy train culture that's been allowed to fester here that needs to be told in no uncertain terms that time's up. This move sends that message loud and clear.

First & foremost, if you prefer quality over quantity, you're probably following the wrong park. Secondly, if Colossus was being left behind, it wouldn't be standing much less operating today. That ride has tried to tear itself apart since the day it began operation. What it hasn't done to itself, weathering and earthquakes have done for it. It's a miracle that ride is still standing and operating today. The park does what it needs to do in order to keep at least one side running, but not much else. There isn't much else they can do considering the structure is going on 36 years old now. By comparison, Texas Giant was only 19 years old when RMC converted it. Rattler was 20 years old. Medusa was 13 years old. Do we know RMC can take a 36 year old structure heavily worn by its own racing layout, weathering, and earthquakes and covert it? If it can't, there's no reason to speculate on when or if "Iron Colossus" will ever exist.

You have to construct your expectations with the full realization of the park that's going to be fulfilling them. Full Throttle is exactly the kind of ride SFMM would want to build, and later operate and maintain on their budget along with all the other rides that they have. That's one of the reasons why I think these hopes for an "Iron Colossus" of sorts are little far-fetched, at least for now.

So I finally opened up my huge Box-O-Crap and had a "HOLY CRAPOLA!!!" moment myself. I'm just awestruck at the thought, planning, and care that went into preparing and personalizing each one of these. You guys didn't have to do any of this and yet you all took the time and effort to do so. That absolutely blows me away. To be such a class act while maintaining the ability to have a sense of humor...it's what makes TPR that darn awesome. BIG thanks to Robb, Elissa, and the TPR crew who helped put all these together. For the local high schools, and high schools up in the Antelope Valley, this is a no-brainer. Bakersfield up through Fresno would probably be interested. My high school that's 10 minutes away from SFMM actually CANCELLED our Grad Night because they weren't paying for Disneyland, and nobody cared about the dopey faux-casino night the school proposed, especially with the stern warning of not walking in graduation if you screwed up. Too bad SFMM wasn't doing Grad Nites then. I would have absolutely picked SFMM for Grad Nite over no Grad Nite at all.

Came home from a hectic week at the office to find a TPR BOX-O-CRAP! Cannot wait to open this later tonight! What better way to kick off a weekend? -
It's no different than any other upcharge ride. How many parks have go-karts or Skycoasters or Screamin' Swings or anything else that the park asks for more money to ride? Universal LOVES to upsell people on everything. This is their latest, best way they've found to do that. It's a great value for the guest seeing as they're gaining not just an additional ride, but an entire additional park along with it.
