Thanks for the pics! Manta has to be one of the most beautiful coasters ever. From the queue, to the scenery, to the actual coaster. This ride looks stunning! I can wait to ride it this summer. -

how many times are people going to feel the need to post that video? -
Thanks for the great news King_K! I'm glad they finally finished the epic fail... lol. I'm also glad to hear that the paint is being touched up after seeing how horrible it looked. Hopefully they'll be able to install the lift (fixing whatever may be wrong with it) and begin testing before too long. Spring opening anyone? lol

Thanks for the update Gatorchomp. The zero car looks fantastic! I am very impressed with SWO for putting so much outstanding theming into this attraction. The attention to detail is amazing. I am very excited for this entire attraction. Great Job Seaworld! -

^ Ya that is a small tank... I don't know for sure where the rays are going but I would think the wing-dip area would be too shallow. Also with the water jets and the waterfall I think it may be too rough, but you never know. Like you said patience is a virtue. -

-The queue/aquarium facade is a mixture of the colored buildings and the rock. - I believe that all of the rays will be placed inside of the aquarium, I don't think that there will be any marine life in the "ocean" aka splashdown. I'm not positive on that one though. -

New vekoma ride design

Wow those trains look almost identical to B&M trains (the track looks fairly similar to in those pictures). If I was B&M I would be pretty unhappy... -

thanks for the link^ Well, thanks to johnnyupsidedown, we officially know that the trains are on site! I can't wait until Sea World unveils them. Do these pipes being placed in the "splash down" look interesting to anyone? http://www.johnnyupsidedown.com/manta/sw609a.jpg like they could possibly shoot water? -

^ I completely agree with this. They created the effect that they were going for flawlessly. My only concern is that in this commercial they try to make the ride appear to be very family friendly. And between the height requirement and the strong forces the ride appears to have (at least for the first section of the ride) I would not consider this a family friendly attraction. -
After checking out this update I am officially stoked to ride this coaster, it looks amazing! I definitely had my doubts about the theme of production central being ruined and I was worried that the layout was going to be unsatisfying, but WOW. HRRR completely fits in the surrounding area, the layout looks great (look at how steep the drops coming out of the brake runs are), and the coaster just looks stunning overall. Now my only concern is... the restraints on the trains.

That is so true. When I was at SFOT the summer the Kentucky Kingdom accident occurred my family was warning me "don't go on the Superman Tower because it cut some girls legs off!" That's pretty sad, especially considering that I heard comments throughout the day about the "Superman Tower." I mean they're made by completely different manufacturers and don't look similar to us, but to the GP a freefall tower is a freefall tower. All over the country Six Flags' parks are known as either Six Flags or "_____" (ie: Discovery Kingdom or Great Adventure). This has a positive side though, which is that it is a nationally recognized brand and when the GP hears Six Flags they think coasters, thrill rides, and a fun day.

Those are some great pictures! Thanks for sharing. I am getting so excited to ride this coaster this summer, it's amazing how much more thrilling it looks now that it's being constructed then it did when it was announced. Since pictures don't usually do coasters justice, how massive does this look in person?

Choice of a few theme parks...
CD replied to Hobbesx2's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I've been to all three of these parks and I prefer SFOT over the other two (even though it's close between SF and HW). I like SFOT because it has a great atmosphere and some amazing coasters, shows, and flat rides (I personally think it's the best park in the chain). As for Holiday World, it also has a great atmosphere with a small park feel and some great rides and perks, like free soda. I haven't been to Holiday World since pre-voyage times but their coasters are good as well. Valleyfair is a mediocre park that I really wouldn't go out of my way for. It has Renegade, which is a solid ride, and some good flats but that's about it. There's just not much to see or do and its pavement and trash can heaven lol. That's my 2 cents -

The splashdown will take place on the low turn directly after the mid-course break run. -
Best coasters in Texas???
CD replied to thrillgeek's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well I've been on every operating coaster in Texas and there are some great ones. I would have to say for steel: Titan (extra helix awesomness!!) Mr Freeze Steel Eel Superman Krypton Coaster Batman/Great White and the very underrated (SIT IN THE BACKSEAT FOR AMAZING EJECTOR AIR) Shockwave and for wood... well there really aren't any good wooden coasters but if you like to be in pain: Texas Giant Rattler Judge Roy Scream (sadly, probably the best) -
