Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread
Justin Adams replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Just saw this posting, and watched the video. That's all I have to say about that. -
What parks have you visited?
Justin Adams replied to Nicolas -TRZ-'s topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Here's my little list: Theme Parks: PGA SFMW Frontier Village (defunct) SCBB Bonfante Gardens SFMM Knott's USH DL DCA Legoland CA Belmont Park USF IOA BGT Seaworld Orlando Magic Kingdom Epcot MGM Knoebels SFA Dutch Wonderland SFGAdv Valleyfair Camp Snoopy @MoA Riverview Big Chiefs SFGAm CP SFWoA PKI Holiday World SFKK Indiana Beach Dollywood (a year after it opened; it SUCKED then) Water Parks: Raging Waters San Jose Splashin' Safari Some ghetto water park in Bakersfield (the armpit of California) That's pretty much it. In September, I'll add Hersheypark and Dorney onto the list. Justin -
So I just finished the new Paramount survey about their "identity". It seems that Viacom is splitting in two, and the parks will now be under the CBS television portion. There were all these weird questions about what I thought CBS would bring to the table vs. Viacom or other companies like Marvel Comics (I voted for this one), ABC and even Fox. (A Family Guy dark ride would kick ass...) So I guess my question is this: what the hell does it matter? CBS is still owned by Viacom, so who cares about it? Seems like a waste of time to me, they should be focusing more on getting some better rides into the place and not on their damn name. That's just my rant, I'm off my soapbox now. SLAYER! Justin

Nice TR Derek, I enjoyed the photos. Looks like a fun time was had, I had no idea SDC looked so nice. You should meet up with us at Hershey or Dorney Labor Day weekend, if you're around. Justin -

NICE! Great shots, the Dodger game was awesome, Hooters rocked and West Coaster is the BEST COASTER. Seriously though, thank you guys again for hanging out with us, we both had a great time. I'll make sure to get my photos up for everyone to check out after I get home. Thanks for my hat too, I'll make sure to wear it in September. SLAYER!

Yeah, my photos were off the heezy fo sheezy. Word. Mattttt Daaamoonnn... -
Wally, your avatar rocks dude. SLAYER!! As for what PKI will do, it's anyone's guess. I know Paramount was toying with the whole indoor coaster with a rock theme, similar to Rn'R, but I can't imagine them tearing out FoF to do it. My money is on a complete retheme using existing track. I bet more than half the GP wouldn't know any different. As for Top Gun being torn out, it's a possibility. Arrow suspendeds aren't exactly top-notch thrill rides. They never were in my opinion. They are just fun. I'd hate to see them tear a coaster out that I didn't get a chance to ride when I was there, but I wouldn't mind it if they built a nice hypercoaster. Yeah right. Justin

Dude, where's the "Matttt DAAmmmon" photo? Nice TR dude, I was going to write one but I suck at them, so I'll let the photos speak for themselves. My thanks go out to Wally for putting up with my rambling conversations, Jim "As Seen on DVD" Disney for coming out and meeting us at Knotts, and most especially to Gregg and Kristi for hanging out with us Saturday night, letting us crash and then going with us to USH on Sunday. Hope I didn't annoy you guys too much! Abercrombie!! -
Theme Park in Oakland? Fo shizzle...
Justin Adams replied to Justin Adams's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Well, I eat my own words from yesterday. I saw on the news this morning that the Wayans are taking this plan in front of the Oakland City Council. So it sounds like they are pretty serious about this. Let's cross our fingers and hope this works out, only so we can see a Fire Marshall Bill ride... -

You're welcome. I figured it was Dark Phoenix when I saw what you wrote in your sig. Hopefully they pull off X3 good enough to not piss off the fans. I'm already bummed that Alan Cumming isn't coming back to play Nightcrawler. Back on topic, I haven't heard any more about this project since that story first ran in the Chronicle. Odds are this won't get off the ground. Too bad too, I'd love to have an awesome theme park right in my backyard. Justin -
Yeah, not gonna happen. Fortunately, or Un-fortunately Kristi wants to go to Hershey as bad as I do, if not moreso. So doing solo trips is not really something that happens too much. I will let you guys know about Sunday, but I don't think it should be a problem. Yeah, don't wives just really get on your nerves, always wanting to go places with you and stuff? Just kidding! Just the fact that she actually LIKES coasters gives her 1 billion trillion points. My girlfriend doesn't like rollercoasters. Justin

I know, I dropped off the face of the Earth after Sarah and I broke up. That devastated me, forced me into therapy with Dr. Phil and made me attend several Tony Robbins seminars. Seriously though, it did throw me for a loop (no pun intended) so I sort-of dropped out of sight for awhile, focused on other things. It would be good to see some familiar faces though, and I'm looking forward to coming down. Even if I'm by myself, it'll be fun to just get away for the weekend. It's a 30th birthday present to myself.
