  1. The coaster's structure is being topped off: Source: PA-Community.com Source: CAPTE.org
  2. I agree with everything you said. Once you've been on TTD or KingdaKa (my case), this just becomes a +1. It doesn't have any special features (even less, since it won't have the 270ยบ downwards spiral). I bet if they start losing money or the park loses appeal, they'll just connect FerrariLand to the existing park and call it "new area", which wouldn't be so far-off since Mediterranea is right next to FL (plus Catalan and Italian villas are not that different in the end), so even theme-wise it wouldn't be that bad. I am just worried about Furius Baco; the only connecting bit between the main park and FL is that area... and when the new Intamin opens, Furius Baco might be on the cards to get the axe if they need the land.
  3. Leaked blueprints from Intamin: Source: Gabri999 from CAPTE.org
  4. High five, girl! Also, has it been mentioned what the launch speeds will be? Sorry if it's been discussed and I missed it. I think I read somewhere in the thread that it would be the fastest double-launch coaster in Europe, so if it has to beat Helix, it will be faster than 62 mph.
  5. Damn subconscious mind! I am so craving a RMC in Europe that I am starting to mix acronyms up! Hopefully Stampida? [/wishful thinking]
  6. After all, it's RMC who's in charge of the vertical construction. They seem to be the best at building coasters in record time... I can't wait to see the tower topped off.
  7. Yeah, initially the project was meant to be finished by late 2016, but I guess they decided to play it safe and pushed back the opening date to 2017. In other news, the park has closed for the season until March and around Stampida some tress have been taken down and some new footers have been poured, which means that Stampida is going to receive another retrack. I don't know if they are going to finish the entire track in just 2 months or they are just going to retrack another portion. There were also some rumours of PA getting rid of the awful Kumbak trains and replacing them with GCI Millennium Flyers. After all, this season Tomahawk (the junior CCI) has recevied Minillennium Flyers and the feedback has been really positive...
  8. PortAventura officially stated that they were aiming at Spring 2017, not late 2016. As for the coaster, PA will be closed for the season on January 6th. Then I would expect the coaster to go up really fast, considering that the construction crew have been onsite for some days and most of the track for it is already waiting to be erected.
  9. Mack, go home... you're drunk! That elements looks insane and hopefully it will also ride insane! Like, sideways airtime?
  10. What Merlin might do is use Ripsaw as a parts donor for Rameses Revenge at Chessington. I am really intrigued by this massive attraction removal because three rides not only open up a huge space but they also mean a lot less capacity for a park that's already crowded (well at least it was before the Smiler accident).
  11. Construction update by TPR user Trevor (right now at the park): This pretty much confirms what we knew. The coaster is going to run using LSM. More track on site What looks like the elevator cart under wraps... These supports are going to hold the elevator for the maintenance of the coaster... Current state of the construction site. It looks like these supports are just ready to go up...
  12. Dragon Khan. Not only my first B&M but it was my first coaster with inversions.
  13. Oh, that was unexpected! I was hoping we would get quad-track like on the other Stratacoasters. I bet this one will require less supports... Thanks for sharing, koppen!

  15. Someone left the fog machines from Halloweekends on : I love this shot!
  16. Today these signs have been spotted in the waiting area for Furius Baco. Apparently, along with these signs admitting the ride is more than just "intense" in the outer seats, the outer seats from rows 1, 5 and 6 are shut until further notice... I hope PA is working with Intamin on new trains because the current state of FB's trains is awful, to the point it's almost unbearable to ride. I have exactly the same questions. I'm still trying the figure out who this mini-gate will work I have a feeling that the Italian villa that they are going to recreate for Ferrari Land, being next to the Mediterranean section at PA, is an easy link between parks if they decide to join both "parks" in the future if they see that a separate ticket doesn't work. As of now, Ferrari Land is really tiny and they don't have that much room to expand (that we currently know).
  17. Does anybody know if the coaster is going to have a MCBR section?
  18. Intamin have done stuff like this in the past though I guess, and infact it happened like a week ago with Blue fire havimg that spinning car on it. It wouldn't really matter if it only went 80mph to be honest as it absolutely flys through the layout It hasn't run up to 84 mph for years. Someone reported that the ride is running at around 79 mph nowadays. New trains wouldn't hurt but I don't think we're going to see them... Too expensive; why get new rolling stock when you can patch something up? (that's PA's philosophy...)
  19. Wow, Phantasialand seems to have no budgetary limits. When you think that they are done with a new insane-looking Intamin ride, they come up with this random renovation plus a rumoured second new roller coaster...
  20. That final inline twist is already crazy as it is now, but it must be completely nuts with spinning cars. It looks like Mack are really stepping up their game!
  21. It was certainly the highlight of the attraction. Let's roll a campaign "Save Twister's Cow on a String"
  22. Agreed. I think that "uninteresting" describes HRRR best. It just does nothing really. A semi-good first drop, some turns, a lot of MCBR and it screams gimmick out loud. I can't stand log flumes or rapid rides either (unless they are *really* good, like River Quest or Splash Mountain). They are just so pointless and boring most of the times. There are few of the regular log flumes that have surprised me, like Holiday Park's and Liseberg's, but I normally skip those rides at any amusement park.
  23. Love it! It's always amusing seeing management getting so involved in promotional material like this one. I am still laughing at Amanda Thompson acting all mad because "her" show is not running as it's supposed to...
  24. ^Does anybody have an idea if they are going to announce what this is officially? I mean, everything points to a Mack coaster, but we have no layout or stats, right?
