  1. ^^Especially when you become jaded about parks such as Knott's. I still think Knott's is by far the best park in SoCal after Disneyland (and ahead of DCA). Of course I think that's because I didn't ever visit the "old Knott's". When something you loved gets changed for the worse, you tend to only see the bad. Thus why I was so peeved by stupid things at Cedar Point last time I went (like Raptor and Magnum not even being close to hitting interval because of new operations procedures). I haven't gotten tired of coasters, but I have gotten tired of parks more quickly. If a park is poorly run and has ridiculous dispatch times, I get so FRUSTRATED that I'd rather just leave.
  2. Those 1986 pictures are from the year of my first Cedar Point visit. Yah, there sure a lot less trees now, but there's sure a lot more exciting rides. I wish they had tried to keep a few more of the trees, but with the crowds the park draws in late summer, I understand why they widened the midways instead.
  3. Lol, well Wes got them all but #3. For those that frequent Disney often it was easy, but those who just go occasionally, they had a bit more of a challenge
  4. Hey everyone. One of my friends was having a getaway this past weekend before her wedding rolls around (a sort of alternative to a bachelorette party). And I decided to make their trip a little more fun by creating a photo scavenger hunt for them while they out at Disneyland for two days. The goal was for them to hit lots of places throughout the park and make sure there were lots of pictures of them having fun. Thus I came up with the scavenger hunt below. I'll post the clues for now (I wrote these all myself last week). Some are ridiculously easy, some are a bit tougher. And it worked out well. The winning team managed to get 18 of the 25 (and knew 3 of the ones they didn't get a picture of). We did it with teams of 3-4. Answers to come later, but I thought you guys might like to at least guess what they are. Or use it to play with your friends at Disneyland (and DCA). Of course you'd have to be the game leader since you'll know all the answers. The Rules: Ok, here’s the idea. The team with the most pictures of the items described in the clues below wins. There must be one team member in every picture since part of the purpose of the game is to have lots of pictures of everyone. In addition each team member must appear in at least 3 of the pictures (so the photographer gets in some too). Make sure the other teams don’t see you taking the pictures, or you’ll be giving them help. The strategy you use to accomplish this is left to your own discretion. Ready………….BEGIN! 1. He’s friendly and fun (and probably weighs a ton). A mouse: his friend, the chains: his foe. No longer part of the greatest show. 2. It doesn’t cost much, so no need to stop her. To find out your future, just drop in some copper. 3. This shop doesn’t share its name with 33 or 99. Thou rout this shop takes is a step back in time. 4. Follow Huck to the island, spelunk your way in, they claim that this hole has no visible end. 5. If you find yourself a member, shout out with glee. The elite come to dine here, it’s ___________ 6. Rub it real fast (no not your own weenie). The vessel you seek contains a magic genie. 7. A noble kind and his steed go round in circles nearby. This weapon seems stuck here, so pull it, c’mon try. 8. With spots of black on a coat of gold, this animal appears stealthy and bold. A roar of adventure in a house up on high, you’ll have to climb up to give him a spy. 9. Smooth and so creamy, sometimes floating in juice. This tropical treat may be better than booze. 10. If you’re under 16, you can still get behind the wheel. The document you need here isn’t quite real. 11. I’m described as small by the French, in the shadows of a great mountain I hide. But I’m open for business so please come inside. 12. He’ll remain a monster if its petals all fall. The place you will find it is where you learn how they draw. 13. They found you get more power from laughter than screams. It’s found in a park with a lame show: Golden Dreams! 14. They come in two forms: one corn and one flour. Get a sample of either, the Mission is next to sour. 15. The song is quite catchy, a story of diversity is told. But after 2 minutes, this ride quickly gets old. 16. Take a picture rubbing this guy’s tongue, I promise I won’t tell. But after riding his ride, you’ll end up in hell. 17. Although many don’t notice they bear the forbidden eye. Don’t step on the diamonds or you surely will die. 18. We can kick back and listen to the many flowers croon. But though many of his kin are here, there isn’t a loon. 19. Frame in this picture a historic old west town, but take the picture quickly before a train comes thunderin around. 20. Back in the land of Mickey, Minne, Chip, and Dale. Open the postbox and drop in some mail. 21. “A hidden Mickey” you yell. Ha you must be dreamin. It’s presence is obvious to all those who aren’t screamin. 22. If it were much smaller you could use it to bowl. Who cares if you get wet, go give it a roll. 23. Unfortunately while we’re here, they’ve closed up there doors. 999 live here, but there’s room for one more. 24. Bugs may be able to make it trough without fret, but try out this maze, and you’re bound to get wet. 25. You all have some change, even if you haven’t won the lotto. So part with some coins in the pale princess’s grotto.
  5. Ha, no there's plenty of us fags in the coaster community. Just go to any enthusiast event!
  6. Wow, totally random. Ugh, I so need to do Japan eventually.
  7. OMG Golfie, how did you find that out? That was never supposed to have been leaked. I mean the lift hill and stuff was just for show, they didn't think they'd have to finish the course. I loved the MF one when it came out. So much better than the Mantis one, which was more of a WTF???
  8. Mmmmmmmmm.........beer Yuengling is made nearby too isn't it?
  9. Looks like it will definitely be Spain for me. Japan is out of my vacation budget and financial budget this time. Hopefully in the future I will be able to do it (maybe after I finally get a decent pay raise, and get that extra week of vacation).
  10. I read something about a TTD incident over the weekend, but couldn't find details. So that's prob just a rumor, but I've also heard all the mega rockets ared down.
  11. Anyone can access that entrance. Although you have to go to the resort/Soak City lane when parking and drive around perimeter road. Just tell them you're going to Soak City (or Hotel Breakers if SC isn't open yet) when they ask where you're heading.
  12. The correct caption for this would have been. "OOh look, a hot bear daddy!"
  13. Ok, I think it's funny that we both used the same colors for the same paths. Yours doesn't quite get to the WWL building though
  14. Fine I'll play into being a "fanboy" but it's more because I worked there. Soak City gate is definitely the closest. It's where I parked when I worked on White Water Landing in 2000. It's a pretty quick walk past Gemini across the tracks and past Stockade and Chuck Wagon Inn, then cut to your left right past Antique Cars.
  15. Cool, thanks for the info. I didn't realize that the wheel chair fit through most of the lines. I'll let them know!
  16. So my good friend Annie is having her "bachelorette party" as a 2 day romp around Disneyland in a couple weeks. There are 8 of them going. One of her good friends going broke her foot yesterday (luckily she wasn't one in the wedding party). So my question is what is Disney's policy for "special access". I know at CP, they only allowed 5 people to be on a pass, the others had to go through the normal line (even though everyone still had to wait). This wouldn't be an issue, except that being split up kind of ruins the whole "group being together" for the weekend idea she had. Anyways, if anyone knows Disney's policy (castmembers, etc....) I would greatly appreciate the sharing of your knowledge. EDIT: I have looked on a few of the websites, and only found a partial answer, so let me clarify. I know that with the "access" pass only allows 5 others to come with. But I was wondering if there's any other difference if you have a wheelchair. She's not going to be able to deal with being on crutches for a whole day in the park.
  17. Hmmm.......the running of the bulls wouldn't be too bad from the resort gate. You only need to run past Gemini, across the tracks, and past CCMR.
  18. I find the phrase Aquatrax fanboys rather amusing. Especially because no one has even been on one. I can't wait for the announcement simply to end all the stupid speculation. I mean we all know it's an Aquatrax
  19. I may have been a bit harsh. I still had fun at it, but much of that was because I didn't have to wait for the mazes. Had I waited an hour for Brutal Planet, I would have been peeved. It's still a fun event, but in comparison to other parks' halloween events, it's lacking.
  20. Having been to SFMM's FRight Fest last year. I must say it was PATHETIC. I was so glad we had front of the line privelages thanks to my friend knowing one of the sups that took us around from maze to maze. The only cool part was the end of Carnage E. Hall and the end of Jokester's Hideout. Every maze just looked cheap, like the local Jaycee's haunted house. Even CP's mazes are better done, and they're still pretty lame. Knott's was the awesome however. It was my first trip there for Haunt, and it rocked. I'm hoping that HHN at Universal Hollywood will be as good as USF since it doesn't look like I'm going to make it to Orlando this year.
  21. OMG, such good footage of The Mill Race. It's cool that that ride survived more than 30 years. The Mill Race is the ride I miss most from CP. It stood where Raptor's entrance now stands. It was there through the 93 season. It was the first ride we hit every time we went to Cedar Point (and the line reflected that most people must have done that). I remember my first ride on it when I was barely 4, and we rode it every year for the next 7 years. Of course I also miss The Pirate Ride, Trabant, and White Water Landing (I worked on WWL for 1/3 of 2000 summer), but Mill Race will always be my favorite memory. [/img]
  22. I had to laugh at this in the chat transcript. I knew there was a reason you guys had so much energy, but I had no idea that it was because of Crystal!
  23. No Elissa that would not be awesome, you've seen me. Me in SPEEDO = Not pretty! Wow, I'm surprised that it's not included in admission, since it's not real large. Of course, I'm not sure how big any of the water parks are there (such as Aqualandia). The heat was the reason I was asking. Thank god I lived in Phoenix for 5 years and can stomach the heat. Of course Barcelona is much cooler than say Madrid.
