Hey Mr. Caps Lock, no one ever said anything about off duty officers carrying weapons into SFSTL or any other amusement park, but thanks for pointing out the obvious. You can relax, now. I never said anyone did. I was just putting it out there. Things get misinterpreted so easily on here very easily and I was just clarifying that after you said how easy it is is to get in places with your weapon that have checkpoints... thats all. Understood. You went a little crazy on the caps, so it made you sound like you were upset or something. Either way, thanks for the information and sorry about the misunderstanding. I'm sure there have been more than a few badged fools who thought riding a roller coaster and carrying pistol was perfectly fine. You would be surprised, well maybe not you particularly, of how many of them think they can do whatever they and then act like they are God and think Security must bow down to them. Lets just put it this way, "rumor" has it one lost his job for some antics he pulled at metal detection while coming as a guest with his weapon.... yes he had some other issues his department was dealing with with him already, but it was the fiasco he started at metal detection that was the final straw for him which lost him his commission -

Nobody, INCLUDING OFF DUTY POLICE OFFICERS, are NOT allowed to carry in the SFSTL. Any off duty that comes into the park MUST CHECK THEIR WEAPON IN with security. There are secured safes in an undislosed location where the officers will lock their weapons up, and they are the only ones with a key to that safe. If any off duty officer wants to carry into Six Flags, they will have a special little meeting with Security Management and will have strict rules set towards them telling them they can not participate in any attractions while carrying. ALL out of state off duty officers are not allowed to carry in the park at any time, no ifs, ands, or buts. -

As much as I know how many people hate metal detection, trust me, if you only knew what kinds of items have been found there and how much is turned away, you would change your mind INSTANTLY. TRUST ME, TRUST ME, TRUST ME!!! -

Ive said it once and I'll say it agian.... I would love nothing more than an kickass steel at our park, but truthfully over seeing how the park is turning more into a dump again, I'd rather see them drop a sh!t ton of money into sprucing the park up... Landscaping: Grass, grass, grass / flowers / bushes / small chaining on corners of grassy areas to keep people off of it like they used to have Maintenance: paint, paint, paint, paint.... did I say paint? / facades / paint / path repairs / paint / fix fences / paint / carpentry work / paint New entrance and GR area... all the way from metal detection to the front mall shops... they actually had plans to do this a few years back, but it all fell through. It would have given metal detection a permanent structure, the redesign of the large fountain/ flag area, new restrooms, new GR, and a new season pass center including its own entrance. As much as I know how good this new Justice league ride will be, I would rather have seen them put all 7 million into fixing up the park. -
So after all the years of being on here and following conversations, you would think I would know the answer to this.... My sister and I are looking into going to Orlando for a few days in January since I have some airline vouchers that will expire soon. Anyway, I can get free tickets to Universal through a family friend, but Im looking to somehow acquire 2 one-day tickets to Magic Kingdom... without having to do a timeshare or resort tour. Is there much hope? Any help would be appreciated.

I hope so, I wouldnt see the point otherwise. They should say that like it does in Texas' press release -

I saw that too, but in Texas', they advertised 360 degree spinning cars where St. Louis' does not say that sooo.... Like I said, dont ask questions, you'll never figure it out until it opens -

Colossus looks horrible. Its exactly what I thought, boring. They took, a classic and destroyed it, but hey, what else is Six Flags known for, right! Our Battle for Metropolis won't be as good as Texas' because the cars on ours aren't going to spin and twist around, IMO its barely a bump up from Scooby rather than a really good up to date dark ride...But it still looks like a good, fun and exciting dark ride... but I WANTED TO SPIN!!! The only ride that looks worth it is Wicked Cyclone. Six Flags did a hell of a job making a 1/3 of the parks look more cheesy by putting "carnival" rides in, again, good job Six Flags corporate, way to take yet another step back. IMO, and its sad to say, but Fury 325 at Carowinds beats the ENTIRE line up for all the SIx Flags parks. -

Check out this video of Curse of DarKastle at Busch Gardens Williamsburg. Curse of DarKastle was designed by Falcon's Treehouse, LLC of Orlando, Florida. The 4D media was designed and produced by Super 78 Studios... Supposedly this is who is doing the ride, but another source also told me Sally was involved somehow. So if its anything like Curse of DarKastle, I think it will be quite good. -

I believe the only change to the structure itself will be the trough being filled. And from what Ive researched, this should be a quite larger ride than most like this -

Well from the sound of things, sounds like the ride is gonna be 3D, something along the lines like Dark Castle at Busch Gardens. As long asits done correctly with the right theming, this could be somewhat of a hit. -

Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday are good days to visit. I personally like Wednesday since it's in the middle of the week, so probably more people working. If you're planning on riding all of the coasters, head to Nighthawk first to beat the lines. Ride Intimidator after that. Your choice after that. If you could, could you get some pictures of the construction for next year? Thank you for your recommendations.... I can't wait to go to Carowinds, its a park I've been wanting to go to for years. I'll see what I can do with pics for you guys. -

Sorry to break in during the middle of all the speculation but I have a few questions. My friends and I are going to Pigeon Forge August 9 - 17, and we decided that one day we're gonna make the 3 hour drive to Carowinds for a day. We're looking at going during a week day for lighter crowds. Which day would be best to go for the lightest crowds? What should we ride first, and what order after that? Any special areas to hit up or recommendations.... besides all the coasters? Any help would be great, thanks. -

I just cant believe the amount of nit picking Im hearing. So many ungrateful people on here. Sounds like alot of people on here who are the type that would get a FREE new car and whine and complain because it didnt have air conditioned seats, self parallel parking, a back up camera or because it has 300 HP instead of 325HP. Its just never enough for some of you guys and that is sad. You have to look at it this way, a $22 million ride for Holiday World is like a $35 million ride for a big park. If every ride was built massive, long, fast, and "forceful" you would again get bored with the same old thing year after year. Im starting to think if Holiday World would have built what SOME OF YOU are crabbing about not getting, you would still find every little thing to complain about. -

I know Will passed before Wingriders were barely going or still just a thought in B&Ms mind, but are you going to try and sit there and tell me that you know what the Koch;s had nothing to do with building something of Will's dream, are you calling the Koch's liars??? I forgot, youre right, it was never said that Will contacted B&M 10 years ago and told them what he was looking for in the future. Youre right, Wills daughter never said that Will came home a few years back with a layout and design of what he wanted. Youre right, because they didnt say that some of this coaster were Will's ideas..... I forgot, "YOU KNOW" though -

parkjunkie replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^thats right blame it on B&M, because that makes a ton of sense... obviously you forgot this was WILL'S wish, what he had been designing and wanting, not B&M. I understand and agree that you and everyone else is entitled to your opinion, but you have gone right past giving an opinion to straight up b!tching, moaning, crying and whining. Sorry that Holiday World and the Koch family didn't give YOU what YOU wanted. One minute youre saying you like it, the next youre not, and then back and forth again.... do you really know what you want, but then again it shouldn't matter what just YOU wants. I hate sounding harsh, I really do, but you contradict yourself so many times here. When you get $22 million dollars, you can spend it on exactly what you want since obviously Holiday World didnt cater to your needs. -

What you have done the past 2 1/2 months is incredible and we all can not thank you enough, even if you have driven some of us to the point of insanity. I havent been to the park in a few years until today and everything was perfect as usual. Kudos to you and all of the Holiday World staff!!! -
