I agree with you guys also about not wanting a freespin and hold off to get something better. 2017 may be a disappointment for some, but very exciting for others.... the one thing to know about the future attractions for SFSTL and a few other SF parks is that there are "options" out there for these parks and no EXACT confirmation is known yet. But following Prozachs 2017 2018 thoughts.... you're not far off with some of it... what will it be and when will be ????..... hmmm -

I just got that too, and had to roll my eyes. Sheesh. How would you describe Fireball to a person that hasnt seen a ride like it before at a park or a carnival? You would describe it as a coaster loop, not a whole coaster only the loop. I see no issue here, they could be calling a looping coaster and running around saying come ride our tenth coaster like the other parks did last year, but their not. I just thought it was funny that a number of people were pleasantly surprised that SFSTL did not market Fireball as another coaster, but then this. I have never seen a Larson loop referred to a as a coaster loop anywhere else. I have not been to the park yet this year, but from the photos that have been posted it looks great up on the hillside. I am sure my kids and I will enjoy it. I like going upside down. Unfortunately it suddenly IS being advertised as a coaster... Commercials, promos, and in news articles.... I thought our PR and promos department was better than this, but that's my dumb fault for thinking that.... Leave it to SFSTL PR to do a dumb gimmicky promo..... Come on SFTSL PR, quit blowing smoke up people's butts, you ain't fooloin' anyone! -

Any Kroger will have you covered. Also their online prices are pretty much the same. If you're planning on going before the end of may you can buy a ticket for $30 on the website but it only lasts one more day for the sale I think. Got it! thanks for the info -

Where can I find KI coupons for 1 day admission? Are there any local retail stores or restaurants that have them, or on products such as soda cans or anything? -

The best days to go are generally Tuesdays-Thursdays. This avoids the crowds on the weekends and anyone that has a three day weekend. Also any days that have rain in the forecast are good to go. The crowds will be minimal and SFSTL doesn't close most ride because of rain or wind (there are of course some exceptions to that). You probably wouldn't need to spend any money other than food and parking if you don't have a gold pass. No need for a flash pass unless its a very very busy day. I'm not asking because I want to go, Ive worked at the park for far too many years and know what each day of the year is like... Im just curious to what our season pass holders here on TPR choose what days to go and if they fork out any money. -

Long story short, you should be fine that day. There may be school groups but they tend to thin out as the day goes on. The only thing to note is that some of the rides may not be operating early in the day for staffing reasons. Backlot seems to be the coaster that often falls into that category. Thanks for the info. My biggest concern was school crowds and long wait times, but thats why we're picking a Monday. I figure ride ops would be shorthanded and the possibility of rides opening throughout the day is a possibility. The only rides I havent ridden yet are Banshee and Windseeker, so Im not too concerned if we miss a few. -

Just out of "curiosity" for those of you that have season passes... what days you you typically pick to go and what hours do you go between and do you generally spend any money on anything besides food? -

We have a Joe Bocardi's right next door to the Poor Richard's in Fenton. It's the best of both worlds! Oh yah, I forgot about that lol. -

So myself and a few friends are thinking about making a trip to the park on May 16th. Its a bout a 5 hour drive for us, so we would come in Sunday night, get a hotel and then visit Monday the 16th. I checked the website and there doesn't seem to be any events or anything going on for that date, but was curious if anyone knew how busy the park might be that day for its first Monday of the season... wasn't sure if that may be a big school event day or anything like that... -

Poor Richard's is great! Service can be a tad slow sometimes late at night if you would go after park close. I remember going there 3 or 4 nights a week after working night shifts, youll always see a ton of SF employees up there about an hour after park close. Excellent wings and a few of their other apps are pretty good too. I really like their Philly Cheese... not a true Philly Cheese, but still very good. Not sure if they're still doing this promo, but for years they run a special when MIzzou football, Cardinals baseball, and Blues hockey games are on... when you order a pint of any draught beer for $4, you get $2 refills and get to keep the pint glass. The pint glass has the logo of whatever team is playing live. I probably have over 40 pint glasses... and thats not including the ones Ive given away There's also a Poor Richard's in Fenton, so if you're headed back to the city and the one in Eureka is too busy, you can always hit the one up in Fenton. Another place that is good that I like going to is Joe Bocardi's in old town Eureka. They just reopened after the massive flood in December... they have great pizza. -

I've been saying since Calico's closed that they should make it into a sandwich shop... sandwiches, soups, salads, wraps... something fresh that isn't offered anywhere else in the park that is light on the stomach. -

Sorry if I ruffled your feathers, but I'm just stating how it is. I never once said their jobs weren't hard and never said there were no good workers, just stating that overall, you can not deny the quality of workers in food service and the lack of proper training that makes this problem worse. You also can not deny, especially as an employee of the park who sees these operations everyday, that many of the food service workers, NOT ALL, but many, are slow and have "I don't care" attitudes, and dont have a sense of urgency. It is your opinion that you think A LOT of them are the hardest working workers... I will agree that A FEW are some of the hardest working ones, but no where near a lot.. and that is my opinion. It is also your opinion that you think it was uncalled for, like I stated above, I'm just stating the obvious since we were on the subject of what contributes to the slow service... -

There are numerous factors for the wait times at the restaurants, even before dining passes, lines and wait times were known to get quite out of hand. A few years back, you may, or may not, have noticed green lines on the ground about 15 feet away from the counters at restaurants. These were put in place so that if the line would pass these green lines, any worker with a radio could call the food service dept. for a "code green" and they would take workers from a slower location to help at the busier one, problem was that when you did so, the place you took the workers from would then have the same issue. I hate saying this, but the primary reason for the slow service at the food stands and restaurants is the quality of workers. It is no secret that food service workers in the amusement park or entertainment industry aren't usually your top notch workers, they unfortunately tend to be the ones who don't qualify for much else. And as much as I disagree with all the nation wide uproar to pay food service workers $15 an hour, the quality of workers is pretty low when the pay is low. Food service, not only at many of the SF parks, but other places as well, have tried incentive programs, award programs, and so on to try to boost the speed and quality of workers but usually to no avail. Overall, IMO, it's a mixture of understaffing, high turnover, low quality workers, low priced dining passes that has allowed way too many to be bought, and inexperienced/ don't care attitudes, and the biggest part IMO is bad management.... -

Being from the St. Louis metro area, mine would have to be Disney's Riverfront Square that would have been in St. Louis, MO. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walt_Disney's_Riverfront_Square disneyandmore.blogspot.com/2012/11/riverfront-square-walt-disney-theme.html -

^ I see where you're coming from on your logic about the smoothness... makes sense... only time will tell. But I still don't see how its going to affect it being easier to make never before seen elements... yes, you may see elements no one else has done before, but that just means no one has done it before but still could. Many other coaster companies developed elements no one had tried before, but then later the other companies did them too. IMO, its like taking any other coaster track that uses top, bottom, and outside side wheels and covering the ties with sheet metal between the tracks. Anyway, I'm not trying to start an argument, just trying to get some people to see that even though its a new style track, it really isn't at the same time. I think overall, its just more pleasant looking and that is all. Of course this is just my opinion and everyone else is entitled to theirs too.

Sorry to break into the topic at hand, but Im just kind of curious about something... and I'm sure a few people might get their feelings hurt thinking I'm trashing the TREX track, but I'm not. I am VERY excited for the first TREX coaster for the fact that its by RMC, but can someone please answer me this: Why are so many people acting like this is a wild, new, never tried before style of track. Yes, the track is enclosed as a solid one piece track and spine, but its still technically using track/ rails like any other coaster that needs top, bottom, and side wheels... its just that instead of ties, its just using a larger spine with the track attached to it. For instance, someone asked if it would even be possible to do an inverted version with this style track... my question is, why wouldn't it!? I've also seen and heard people not only here but other sites as well saying and wondering if because this is a new style of track, would it be possible to see things never before seen on coasters... again, this is still the normal top, bottom, side wheel configuration, so it really isn't any different than any other style coaster....

On a recent trip I took this past week, I was SOOO lucky that after takeoff, our flight path went right down 44 and was able to get a couple of shots of the park from about 15,000 ft... not the greatest, but thought I would share... -

So I know we've talked about the the Hyper that we were "SUPPOSED" to get but instead went to SFoG and it has now been brought up again. From what I can remember, its been 10 years since I saw a rough layout of the general look of the layout, that this was the route it was to follow... or something pretty damn close to this. -

My IP address is banned from editing Wikipedia, because I kept editing the SDC page by changing "Outlaw Run" to "Outlaws Running Wild & Trampling Park Guests" and "Wildfire" to "The Wildfire that Kills the Animals at the End of Bambi." LOL Too funny! Either way, I can't believe someone actually put that on there thinking the rest of us would fall for it... Those Supermans are not good coasters at all. Plus, I'm to the point that I rather not receive any coaster than a hand me down or another clone... unless of course they are a GOOD one of a kind.... which won't happen.... although I wouldnt mind having Bizarro/ Medusa from SFGAd
