Wait...does this even make grammatical sense??? Am I the only one that thinks it sounds TERRIBLE? I mean, how would these sound... Disney Epcot Disney The Lion King Disney Wonderful World of Color Knott Berry Farm Paramount Great America Universal Islands of Adventure Why would it NOT be "Disney's" ??? This park is just a complete mess. It always has been, and I'm not convinced it ever won't be. I agree until you think of it this way. It's not hosted by the Disney Copr. It's Walt's california, especially with the new main entry area coming. It's the Disney California Adventure. That makes sense, but they aren't communicating it well. Oh well...

"You have to let us in today, the internet said it would be open!" Wow. People are dumb. I suspect Universal will have plenty of soft opening opportunities for the folks who paid through the teeth for a vacation package. How did the crowd over there look? If it's as many as I suspect, I don't think Universal would need to even bother with a GP soft open before the grand opening. I mean, what's the point of a soft open? I'm not a brilliant expert, but I can only think of two reasons: 1) As a sort of beta test for new attractions- put some stress on them with actual guests and see how the procedures, staff, and hardware hold up. That helps avoid a Disneyland opening day incident. 2) To build buzz for your attraction. #1 is handled by the vacation package crowd, assuming that there are enough people to put a little bit of stress on the attractions. #2 is completely unnecessary, considering the amount of press that WWoHP continues to get. Are there other reasons for a soft open? If not, Universal has nothing to gain and much to lose (especially if someone sneaks a camera onto Forbidden Journey and posts to Youtube) by doing a soft open. I really, really doubt from how far along everything has been for awhile and their decision to book vacation packages that they DIDN'T plan on it being open already. I think Universal is backed up against the wall here, they have to honor their packages yet not everything is ready.

Beat AC2 last week, great game. A Picked up Red Dead Redemption yesterday and have sunk 5 hours into it so far. I'm loving it so far. I'm also looking to pick up Alan Wake, Rock Band Green Day, and some others. Gotta love working: plenty of time to game and money to do so.

Because if you scheduled 1-2 days of a trip to see the new "Harry Potter park", without caring to go to any other UO attractions, you'll be disappointed. It's not about great theming, an amazing attraction; what they have there now is fantastic. It's about UO being sneaky with naming and advertising so people would set aside more time from Disney to go here. People are expecting more attractions, shows, shops, and experiences, and UO is the only one to blame for that. They should have named it Hogsmeade Village, said it was in Islands of Adventure, and sell it as part of a package. But no, they had to give it a huge name, slap "World" onto it (sue guests in central florida for thinking large theme parks when "world" is added to something), and be sly with saying it's actually inside another theme park.

Not a resort, it's Team Disney Orlando. And yes, this resort is located at the old Pop Century Legendary Years location and will reuse the buildings and foundations already built. Here's the ad, states at Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom Park. Plus a coaster obviously is in a park, not an extra ticket. When an addition called "The Wizzarding WORLD of Harry Potter" (my emphasis) and doesn't state a park, then it can be confused as a park. What Universal should be doing is saying it's in IoA and showing all the OTHER things to do in the park as well. Harry is the gateway drug to Spiderman, Jurassic Park, etc.

I just saw some new ads today on USA and they seem even MORE like it's a new park. They also say it's at the resort, not the park. Combine this with what I've heard from people saying online and in person, it seems Universal is setting themselves up for a big big upset, even more than before. I can see thousands of people going to the ticket counters trying to buy tickets to the "Harry Potter park" and wondering where it is.

And if you want to really get into the minutia of it Indiana Jones is the first success full implementation. IJ/TT/Dino/RR/Journey/Cars all use the same EMV vehicle base and system, just TT/Cars/Journey get rid of the motion base on them and amped up the speed. GM was to sponsor RR and supply the funding to change the track to more of a TT like surface and banking. After the near 2 year delay at Epcot GM said "Hell no!" to a ride with the same ride system and the Pressler era deemed it ok for lots of breaking and that weird bus bar instead. What we got was a ride that ripped itself, the track, and the support structure appart. I'm personally really disappointed Disney hasn't used this amazing ride system WAY more. Sure TT had delays due to the speed, processing power of central control, and problems with missing sensors at high speeds, but those are long gone problems.

I think Darkastle has a more solid story, but the Spiderman is better overall since it's easier to understand and to better conveyed. Darkastle is crazy cool for a local, seasonal park, and I hope more of these kinds of rides are added. But Spiderman is still better in my opinion. I do not find it the best dark ride, I'll take the physical over the projected (why I see MIB as still better than TSM), which makes my #1 dark ride still be Indiana Jones.

That's it, I have lost faith in humanity

A year from now all we're going to see is episodes of "16 And Pregnant" and these will be the names. Great, even more reason for them to treat "it" like a toy... -
For those who want to check this out, it's a very limited test run. It could still be going on or could have ended. And if it's still going on, it's randomly in the day with only small groups of guests. An LA Times writer tried to go with his/her son and got "boring" Mickey instead. Good luck, and god speed.
