  1. Some updates from Al Lutz today on WoC events and such... Be careful out there guys. More updates and other Disney geekery at http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al061510a.htm
  2. I agree, especially since many more *positive* and actually beneficial things can be done to the half mill they used to originally build it. Like feed the hungry or treat the sick. Not side show attractions. "They say it's ironic that with a Hustler store nearby, the Jesus statue outside the church should be the thing destroyed by fire." -WTAM.com http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUZ3d1tTbWg
  3. To those in Ohio and who have visited Kings Island/Jungle Jims, this is sad news. The I-75 roadside statue of Jesus burnt down last night due to a lightning strike. http://www.daytondailynews.com/news/dayton-news/jesus-statue-destroyed-by-fire-762245.html
  4. But JK doesn't make any royalties off of Coke like she does Butterbeer!
  5. Absolutely floored. I never met Will nor saw him, despite his appearance on Colbert. But I have met his extended family, and I know that he is a great man because of what he left. Disneyland stayed open when Walt died, and it's only true that Holiday World be open and greeting guests this morning. "You'll be seeing lots of Muppets stuff soon, because that's the way the boss would have wanted it." - Kermit Thoughts from all the coaster nerds at the University of Dayton. Joe
  6. Picked up GD RB a few days ago, been casually playing through that. Now I'm on the road for work again so more HL2...
  7. Reportedly the show segments with Alice in Wonderland and some others didn't turn out visually as they hoped and instead added other segments. The story line of Lil Squirt didn't pan out as they hoped so it too was removed; now there are just some small transitions between water, space, and land. Same with the Chernanbog tower, that was removed due to how it looked in the final version of the show. As Steven Davison has stated the show is easy to change and update, I wouldn't be surprised that sooner than later we'll see updates and changes to the main show.
  8. They should have replaced taken out one of the more repetitive segments and put that in there instead. So much more opportunity there than the really long Aladdin/Little Mermaid bits.
  9. Great photos! I have a feeling the new new TPR meme will be "_______ of Color" whenever it's some sort of detailed picture of an event or coaster.
  10. Call me a loser, but Disney has me hook-line-and-sinker with the poppy WoC theme. Especially the end one. Notice the lenses during the show were all wet and everyone with towels after the show?
  11. Last night was the first public showing of WoC. The overall consensus so far has been that it's a great show, but if Steve Davison was allowed to add more of a story (like he originally wanted) it would have been a grand slam, A+ show. There's some threads of a story line and transitions scene to scene, but Lil Squirt and Alice have gone out the window in favor of more Pirates. There are HD videos all over the web.
  12. God, that's hysterical, mainly because I'm still in college. I also hear the stamped section uses the in-theater fountain effects.
  13. I have a HTC Eris and I never go over 2 gigs unless I tether, then it's way too easy (like I did last week when I was away from home at a work site, the hotel's internet SUCKED.) I see them doing this as a way to finally release tethering to the iPhone, something that you could do for nearly a year in other countries...
  14. I think the rule was if it was a current iPhone contract, but I'm not quite sure.
  15. Starting to think of it, I think this will be the biggest issue regular guests will complain about, but I mean they didn't have that much land to work with here. Diagon Alley in City Walk anyone?
  16. Something doesn't add up here. 10 year old autistic boy allowed to ride a water slide alone, gets beaten up, nobody "acts" upon it or "saw". Only one sided story. I don't know, just seems weird. It could be me just wanting to hope this was made up and that people aren't this bad, but I really don't know. I'll be paying more attention to this story as it develops.
  17. Sorry forgot to quote this bit... http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al033010a.htm It's in order to prevent people from seeing the first show at a bad angle and ruining any surprises. Anal, yes, but we're talking bout Steve Davison and WDI here, that guy is a show control freak.
  18. Disney's going to come out and say that it's a holding place for WoC FPers. If it wasn't, then why didn't they announce it with the rest of Nightastic? Instead they announced it during the WoC preview event. And I bet they'll have people queue up and get ready in that area since "all our guests are enjoying our new entertainment offerings" blah blah blah. And I was wrong about WoC FP, my bad.
  19. According to Al Lutz Glow Fest was created as a way to hold people waiting for shows from seeing the show while waiting for it (hence it's location.) http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al060110a.htm http://miceage.micechat.com/allutz/al050410a.htm
  20. If I'm not mistaken the WoC Fastpass is only going to be used for the first showing, with second/third showings becoming first come first serve. And the holding pen for the shows will be the new Glow Fest acid trip thing.
  21. Beat Red Dead, waiting to see what GameFly sends me next. RDR was FANTASTIC.
  22. People who find Dungeons and Dragons irritating? People who aren't into that particular type of fantasy (or fantasy in general)? I would think there would be quite a few. That being said, I'm looking forward to checking the new land out, but I'm not a Potter fan. It done right, a land shouldn't turn people off because of it's decoration. People still like Adventureland even if they don't like the Amazon or exotic lands because it covers the romance of discovery and The African Queen very well. Even if you're not a huge Buck Rogers fan you can still have fun in Tomorrowland because it has the universal theme of a brighter future and dreaming to do anything in it. I think that's the problem Robb and others see with the HP land, there's no underlying theme to the land, just a very very very very very well decorated area that takes the story from an existing franchise.
