I wouldn't be surpised if it came back, or if they opened up that service road (that travels from the Top Orient Express station to right underneath Revolution's loop) and made it a real path. Either way, I think its a fair assumption that there will be more than one way to walk up that hill, and that there might possibly be a mechanical way to get up the hill. So...who is doing an update? Or am I gonna have to go by myself and look like a loner again? ...Oh, wait. You guys have your meet, huh! Well, somebody's BOUND to take pictures...right? RIGHT?

Windows Movie Maker is not great, but it honestly provides all the abilities you need to do a coaster video. The only features I wish it had was picture in picture and the ability to superimpose two or more shots. But other than that, I use it, because I am too cheap to do otherwise! It is JUST FINE for coaster videos. With the video you posted, a lot of what was wrong, IMO, was your shots. They were very rough and not steady, and also lacked a certain balance. A tripod can not hurt at this point. I have only been making coaster videos for about 6 months now, but just a few tips of my own: -Song selection is critical! You need the song to match the feel of the video. For example, if you are going for a fun, lighthearted video, dont do rap, techno, or soft music. Do surf music or ska or something. Heres an actal, tested example...lol. I am currently making a video of Viper, at SFMM (an Arrow ). Everyone knows that it is a bumpy ride, and even with the steady cam, there is considerable shaking. So, I selected a punk-rockish sounding song, with fast beats and hard guitar. I have actually succesfully turned a bumpy pov into a furious feeling pov! As if I purposefully made it bumpy! -Timing in critical! Your shots didn't always line up with changes in the music. And dont change on a bass beat. Cymbals and snares are much better to transition on. -Shots are critical! After you realize what you are making a video of, pick a song to reflect that feeling, and then make sure you shoot the video's shots with that same feeling (not always possible, when on vacation, but still, try). You had a rap song (a very consistant and formulaic music) with shakey and unpredictable shots! With music like that, I sugguest smooth following shots, still tripod shots, and far artistic shots. When doing rock music, I suggest faster shots with more room for shakey shots. Now, I dont want to sound like I know what I am doing. Because, I dont! Every one is right, in that, it would be benificial to upgrade your software. However, I feel that it wouldn't improve anyones videos by itself. It takes practice and a lot of pre-shoot thinking. A problem with a lot of expensive software, is that it causes the editor to place in a demonstration of, what I would like to call "look what I can do!" syndrome. That is, placing in effects because "they look cool", and not because they contribute to the feel of the movie in any way! Example A? The "liquidy" title on your video. It made the video seem a bit cheesy, no offense ( ). -Jahan "Please dont kill me people....I am still a beginner myself!" Makanvand

Lol...thanks man. When I filmed that, the little old lady sitting on one of the benches turned to my aunt and was like, "what the hell is he doing?" -

Please Read! Hey guys and gals… When I found out that I was going to the Disneyland on July 17th, 2005, on the actual 50th anniversary, I decided that I would do my very first video TR of the event! You know, give those people at home a first hand view of the festivities. I shot an introduction, our travel, a stop we took at Griffith Park to see the carrousel that gave Walt the inspiration for Disneyland, our hotel, the crowds leading up to the park…I forgot just one thing though. I forgot to take footage in the park! You see, unlike a picture camera, I couldn’t just put my camcorder in my pocket! So, I forgot to take the camera out of my backpack! Don’t get me wrong…please don’t get me wrong. I have SOME footage. About a minute and a half of it or so. However, it wasn’t really enough to document my day there. For the past two months, the footage sat, rotting on my desktop. Finally last night, I decided to have some fun with it. I have created a Trip Report of the event AS BEST I CAN. No you won’t see the press conference. No you won’t see the daytime fireworks, or the media. However, you will se a lot of golden ears! I just kinda had fun with the video. I don’t want it to be a major let down for you guys, so when you watch it, don’t expect too much video from inside the park. That doesn’t mean don’t watch it! It MIGHT still be fun for you! So without further adieu, only 56 days after I went there, my video TR of the July 17th, Disneyland’s 50th anniversary (click the link): http://media.putfile.com/7-17-05-TR_0001/original (Sorry for the poor quality. It had to be 10MB or less to fit on the site.) Well…what do you guys think? Did it humor you? Did it interest you? Did it sicken you? Questions, comments, concerns, or praise, always welcome . (P.S. I would like to thank Remain Seated .com for the Remember…Dreams Come True footage) (P.S. Its not enough footage to spoil the show, at all, for those who haven’t seen it)

I am currently organizing my update. Im using a different photo gallery, so I may add more commentary (although, I just may post it directly here, thanks to Robbs criticism on navigation of my updates!). BTW...I have already been lectured on posting stuff that breaks park rules, so I wouldn't dare do it again. However, I just so happen to have a friend that works at SFMM, who was so bold (and wrong!) to go close up to the pieces after work. He was kind enough to send me a few pics. So if anybody would like to see them, just email me (arrowfanman@hauntedmansion.com) . EDIT: My update for 9/9 can be viewed HERE...thats right...HERE. -Jahan "If you cant get an Alvey update, this will do, trust me" Makanvand

Where in the world ARE Robb & Elissa?

I thought you guys stayed home, and were having fun with the image search at google! I guess I was the most wrong. -
I rarely go on weekends at all, until the offseason.... Ok, so weekends and summer and holidays rake in a lot of people. However, weekdays in summer are very doable, and it isn't that crowded. All in all, I heard that in '04, they raked in 2.3 million visitors, placing it in 19th place (of most visited parks). Is that really that many people, considering that they are tied for the most coasters? Its just a question.
