2014 ChrisHanKwanSivus Gift Exchange!
Guy T. Koepp replied to Brandy524's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I figured I would update this thread as I finally created an awesome display case for one of my ChrisHanKwanSivus gifts from years past. I am so proud of this, and it looks awesome in it's multicolored glowy LED display. Next up is to get my die cast zombie strippers painted. Hopefully it won't take as long as this shadowbox display took. But it's awesome! It just looks amazeballs! And it slowly dissolves through all these colors. I engineered everything. From mounting the plackard and LED, to building the box, cutting the glass at Lowes. I even ironed the black fabric that backs the box. I don't iron anything, except skis and snowboards. Purple, Blue and Red are my favorites! They just pop! I am so pleased by this. Giddy like a schoolgirl -
The Official TPR Video Thread!
Guy T. Koepp replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Video's are very deceptive. Especially when you experience them in a higher refresh rate. Everything is so clear that it gains this almost surreal feeling. But it is limited by what the camera, and or the director wants you to see. You as the viewer are only able to process everything you see within the frame of the image. You're missing all the intangibles that you would incorporate into a ride that you can only get from riding the actual coaster. When you incorporate the feel of the coaster riding the rails, the wind in your hair, the ability to see everything around you in your peripheral vision, the adrenaline rush, it all creates the ride experience. Which a lot of the times feels so much faster than it actually is. Not to discredit any of Robb's fantastic video's, and they are fantastic. Cough, (Like James Bond, nobody does it better, and I've tried.) cough. For instance, so many people don't realize that Space Mountain at Disneyland only hits a top speed of 29mph, and it's steepest drop is a mere 15 feet. But the experience creates a totally different feeling. I've heard people swear there was a 100' drop in there, and the ride goes 60mph. It's because Disney has created that envelope for you. Watch a video of Space Mountain with the lights on and it's almost a comically tame experience. Awesome in it's own right, but still tame. It's one of the reasons that people here on the forums get so frustrated when they hear someone making snap judgements about a ride based solely on a computer recreation, or video. It's not the ride experience. Robb's videos are the best out there! Truly the best! But, watch them for what they are, an appetizer to riding the real thing! A tasty, delicious, butter flavored, bacon wrapped, batter dipped, deep fried, anal sex, BBQ sauce covered appetizer! With that said... ...YOU'VE HAD YOUR APPETIZER, NOW GET OUT THERE AND RIDE THE MAIN COURSE! Guy "That's what she said." Koepp -
Is it weird that ever since I have gotten Hot Meg, all I have her do is whip her hair back and forth and hose off. Even in the most stressful of days, I can just sit and watch her do either of these two things. For some unexplainable reason it just pleases me to no end.

You can never get enough camel toe! Looks like a great day! -
Silver Dollar city's Q2Q system is very reasonably priced. If you just want to credit whore the place, I would recommend it. Honestly, It's sad that you have only a few hours. There is so much to do at this park that a half day is really short changing yourself. The coasters are all excellent, and well worth the trip themselves. Have fun.

God I love Japan! It's so awesome. It has been fo ever since I was there last. But I must get back one day. -
^ I have no issues at all about the removal of Malstrom. It ran it's course and is going to be replaced with a ride that will draw in the GP like flies to sugar. As for me, I can wait. I'm suffering from a touch of the Frozen burn out. I love the film, but i need a break from everything Frozen related right now.

I'm sure this ride will be an amazing attraction. I'm wondering if they will be keeping the original ride layout or expanding it to allow for a larger capacity. I have a feeling that this will be one of those rides that you will definitely want to FastPass as I expect lines for it will be insane. ^Nevermind, question answered.

Holiday World (HW) Discussion Thread

I'll be at Beech Bend during the day on July 7th. We're going for the Weird Al concert in Bowling Green that night. As much as I love Fireworks, I was gonna Carbo Load Thunderbird in the AM, Hit up Mammoth and Wildebeast early, then hit The Legend and Raven on the way out. If luck is on my side, I can be at Kentucky Kingdom by 4 get my Lightning Run Credit by 4:30. Then spend the rest of the day tooling around until I feel like going home. However, if I went the opposite direction and started at KK, then made my way to HW. I would be using the time zones to my advantage and could spend a bit more time at each park and catch the fireworks before I go home. Sold! Fireworks it is! It's gonna be a good Friday! -

^I was going to say the same thing. I don't think 90+% of the country even knows Lagoon exists, let alone is using Cannibal as a factor as to where they make their vacation decisions. -
Saw Newsies last Sunday. It was good. The family had a great time.
