  2. Oh, how I love the irony!! Nashville had an amusement park that fails (Opryland), and it's turned into a shopping mall. Myrtle Beach has a shopping mall that fails, and it's turned into an amusement park (which also fails!) Interesting Jeff, Weird thing is that everybody here in Nashville & at the Opryland hotel still can't seem to figure out why the park was removed? From what I've heard, the park wasn't failing. It just wasn't raking in profits hand over fist like an outlet mall does. Low staff, high rent will do that. If you include the huge settlement that Opry Mills will be getting from the floods as well, then you can chalk up record profits. I actually saw a 4 part documentary about the closing of Opryland. Somehow all the financials from the park have mysteriously disappeared and the CEO who was in charge when he signed off on it's closing, is no longer on this earth. So no one really knows why the park was officially closed. (I would guess greed as I stated the whole low staff, high rent from the mall.) I even read in the employee newsletter over at the hotel that a feasibility study had been done to find out what it might cost to build another park across the freeway from the hotel. They own a ton of land over by their golf course that sits untouched to this day. Unfortunately, the articles conclusion came to it being cost prohibitive to try and create a park the likes of Opryland the way it was when it closed. I've met dozens of people who worked there who said that there was no notification, no nothing. In fact, some of them even mentioned that management was at the employee entrance/ exit on the last day of the season and were telling the cast members to take a souvenir from the park because they weren't opening again next year. Shock to er'body. (That's southereese for everybody.) I guess my point is, the comparison (while both were music themed parks) isn't exactly accurate as Opryland was according to locals, self sustaining, and HRP/FMP was double epic fail on an epically epic scale. I still think the owners are trying to scam as much cash out of any investor they can find. Which in my book makes them financial geniuses. 3. I once went aprecrap. It was kinda a let down. For me and er'body else involved. I just don't have the gumption for it any more. Does that make me old?
  4. I am sad now. I have booked a gig that is gonna work on every weekend from now until the 3rd week in November. I can no longer attend this event. Guy "I want to cry!" Koepp
  5. ^Generally I wait until early February to attend the Christmas Themed events at my local parks. The crowds have usually cleared out by then. But I think we're talking about Bush Gardens TPR Halloween event here. Guy "Trying my damnedest to not derail a thread for the first time in my life." Koepp
  6. Subtract the apocalyptic theming, and I have a feeling that this is very close to what Dollywood will be putting in for next year. Guy "Call me not disappointed." Koepp
  7. QFT!!!! I QFT your QFT and add an, "I second your statement." Guy "I would only include that October is a great month to Hit up most theme park Halloween events." Koepp
  8. Drunk Piers make for the most epic TRs. Glad you all are having an awesome time.
  9. ^They're currently on the NE Trip right now dude. I doubt they have much time to be looking in to hotels for mid September. I believe Elissa mentioned something about them working on some sort of deal before they left a few pages back. I'm sure they will give us details as soon as they hear anything. They're pretty good at that stuff. Guy "I say this as I am patiently waiting myself for word." Koepp
  10. Dude! This is awesome! Not to mention an incredible deal! I was thinking I might take a jaunt down to Floruba to get to the Halloween events this year as my October is looking a bit light right now. I will have to check when I get home. Wouldn't wanna get in dutch with the wife.
  11. ^I love the corporate member ClubTPR banner. The orange really pops!
  12. I just purchased my ticket. I am in! I figured since you are now offering free beer that the orders will start dropping fast and furious now. I am not going to miss this event because I wasn't home to register in time and lose my place. As much as I hate to credit card anything these days, I know I can over pay on my next invoice to make up for it. So, blah, blah, blah, I'm gonna be at Dirty South Bash for my birthday, and am way f'ing excited about it. Guy So excited!" Koepp
  13. Rock on with your bad ass sleeveless self Larry. This PTR does not suck greatly!
  14. No! Not the Log Jammer. I had sex on that ride. They can't take it out. Such fond memories. Guy "The logs were not the only things getting jammed on that ride." Koepp
  15. ^Yeah, but I just took an Ambien about 20 minutes ago. So I'm already trippin' balls, and she's really freakin' me out.
  16. The triple down is about the only good thing left on this ride. It dropped to my least favorite coaster in the park after my visit this year. It's just too brutal and bordering on not being fun anymore. Sad too, cause it used to be in my top fifteen wood.
  17. Looks like the holiday weekend was in full swing over at the Magic Kingdom. Thanks for filling us in on er'thang Disneyworld Adam.
  18. I was gonna ask if he consulted you on that new doo.
  19. I never get to get raped by Jackie Chan.
  20. I think Robb just donkey punched her.
  21. Rumor has it that it may have a surprise involved with it's 35th anniversary? Please God! Please oh please God make our wildest dreams come true!
  22. Dude! I take no one, and nothing seriously, including my self. I know sarcasm, and this came across as nothing like it! Guy "See, that's sarcasm!" Koepp Edit! Damn you Adam and your logical levelheadedness. Don't you have a cool refreshing coke to drink, or a test to study for?
