This is going to get out of hand very quickly, so I have locked it for now.

Yes, they have. I don't recall the name, but it was sort of Bigfoot-themed. The scares were pretty light, and riding at the end was optional. We actually did, and were a bit surprised that in the final tunnel of the rapids, they had a Bigfoot-character standing over you, and it would though a huge boulder at you (which was attached to a bungee cord). That was a cool highlight, but I'm sure not many people got to see it... it was mostly too cold for most people to justify riding a rapids ride at night in winter (this was before current global warming trends). It was called Bigfoot's Revenge.

The first two generation 2 pokemon have arrived! You can hatch Togepi and Pichu for sure along with "several others" that they didn't name. You can also catch Pikachu with a Santa hat.

It's been moderately busy the couple of time I have visited. It's all they have in the San Diego area, and with how hard they are pushing annual passes...I imagine they got a return on their investment. -
What about also including AP's whose tickets have been scanned at a park's entrance that day? Make the AP's register their pass with the Disneyland app (like many already have), then only open access to the FP reservation portal in the app once that pass is activated for entry at the turnstiles. Can't cheat at that without violating non-transferability rules, and can't advance reserve Hyperspace Mountain every single day of the year just to have one whenever they want. I imagine they will do that too....but I would still guess they won't initially roll out any changes to the AP program in order to make sure there is a real big tangible benefit to single day tickets and booking a hotel.

People like to bitch about nice things they can't afford is a more accurate way to describe it. -

population growth =/= attendance growth The simplified version of every theme park business model is this: no matter what, the cost of doing business will be high. You can fudge the numbers a little bit by closing some venues, but you're still looking at high costs to operate and maintain what you do have open. You can also only guarantee one revenue stream: admission tickets, which generally should cover your operating costs or come close to it. Food, merchandise, and premium products are how you make a profit. That is why parks will never stop introducing new products that don't come with high costs to them---front of line tickets, VIP tours, cabanas, hard ticket events, premium parking, different annual pass tiers, limited edition merchandise, seasonal food items/festivals, express buses, character dining, etc. -

I think you are overestimating the cost. I also think you are severely overestimating how much an average family will spend in a day---it probably isn't $649 (admission is not included with the cabana, so that doesn't count). I'm all for Disney finding every which way to make more money without having any impact to the average guest experience. I have no doubt these will sell quite well---they wouldn't bother with testing it if they didn't already know there was a market for a place where people can go and relax away from the hustle and bustle of the park without having to go all the way back to their hotel. -
Again, there is a limit to how many fast passes you can claim per day in Florida---you literally can't book an entire days worth of rides in advance. I also imagine they have some caps attached to those advance fastpasses to ensure fastpass is available day of and the rides have plenty of standby capacity.

Which is ironic considering ABC Family/Freeform is a subsidiary of Disney... Those rights are shifting to Universal (guessing that wasn't a coincidence). But more to the point: Harry Potter is the Star Wars of the "millennial" generation. The books and movies came out when people who are now 20-30ish years old were growing up.
