Shane, are you paying attention to this? Boomerango on a play structure? Seems like a great idea! -
^Not sure how you didn't notice...they've been buried at the bottom with the Cubs for awhile now!

Glad to hear HKDL was busy! I really liked the park, but all you hear are reports of how dead it is (as it was during TPR's last visit). -

I would have actually loved to have been a fly on the wall during these negotiations. I've always wondered how cut-throat it is when the two companies are bidding on major contracts like theme parks, stadiums, etc. -
Busy concert weekend for me... Night 1 of KROQ almost acoustic X-mas (Blink 182 headlined along w/ 311, Social Distortion, Bush and some other bands I didn't bother watching). Great throwback to the 90's lineup. Each band killed it. Then a few nights later was Watch the Throne w/ Kayne and Jay-Z. I didn't need to hear N*ggas in Paris 9 times.

^I agree. Coming out and saying he wouldn't want to play for NO (read: he can't handle being a full time starter/star) and that he was hurt they didn't tell him about the deal beforehand pretty much shows what he is all about. Compare that to Pau's comments, which were basically "It's a business. I just got to get back to work and play hard."

So CP3 might be going to LA after all...to the Clippers! Chris Kaman, Eric Bledsoe, Al-Farouq Aminu, and Minnesota's un-protected 1st round draft choice. Kaman is an expiring contract they'll flip to a contender at the deadline. Eric Bledsoe is turnover prone and coming off knee surgery. Aminu hasn't shown anything. It is a deep draft though. if the NBA approves this trade, they basically took the "high risk, high reward" approach instead of the Lakers deal which would have given them a solid team that would probably make the playoffs.

All Cedar Fair cares about is the extra money they're going to get from the football stadium. -
The Cardinals also had a chance to re-sign him prior to the start of the season, but they badly underestimated his value and his love of the city.

^Or perhaps he realized that a long term deal with an AL team is a better fit for him, as he can keep his career going as a DH. He's already 31 years old with 11 seasons under his belt... FWIW, the Marlins reportedly offered him even more money.

It was obvious the "small market" owners were butthurt this trade was going to go down followed shortly after by a trade for Dwight Howard. They didn't want that to happen, even if the NBA has been carried by star players in star markets forever (and it would net them more in luxury tax money). The Lakers actually would have gotten worse with just this trade. They would have absolutely no front court depth at all to go with that ridiculously good backcourt of CP3 and Kobe. The Rockets (a small market team) would have gotten a star they would have no chance of getting otherwise, and the Hornets would have gotten 4 quality players (which they could either keep for a playoff caliber team or flip for more draft picks)+a draft pick to start the rebuilding process.

^In owning the hornets, is it the leagues job to do what is best for that team (so they can actually sell it for a decent price), or do what is "best" (is it really in the leagues best interest to hold down the teams that generate the most revenue? Shouldn't the league want the rich teams paying the luxury tax to the smaller teams while still making money??) for the league. Seriously, if the NBA doesn't let the trade happen...in six years when the CBA expires, the league is in SERIOUS trouble. There's a huge divide between the have and have nots amongst the owners, and now the league is basically holding CP3 hostage (if he gets traded this season...he keeps his Bird rights and can sign for $100 mill on the new team, or if he leaves as a free agent, he can only get $77 mill).
