  1. Why not? They spent 10 million on Wild Thing in 1996. In adjusted inflation dollars for 2018 that would be $15,905,289.99 today. If they did it once 22 years ago they can do it again if they want. Counterargument; there's a certain other Cedar fair park about 450 miles from Valleyfair that built the second longest wooden coaster in the world at the time in 1998, and it cost $4,500,000. Adjusting for inflation, if they built it today, it would cost $6,873,984.66. That's relatively cheap for a new coaster, but that doesn't mean they're gonna do it again anytime soon.
  2. Hey hey hey, lookie here! Did not expect to see an announcement this soon, looks like an awesome improvement over Happy Harbor. One thing that does strike me weird is that they didn't put any theming into the area that's related to the park. Not a complaint by any means, but it does kind of stick out to me. I mean, BGT has the Safari theme, BGW has the forest/kingdom/whatever theme, and the other two SeaWorlds (San Antonio and San Diego) have Bay of Play... what stopped them from just doing an ocean theme? I'd imagine that they could also save a ton from keeping some existing structures if they took that route (i.e. the ship and the Sea Carousel). Again, not complaining, but it does feel a bit odd to me.
  3. Pretty sweet! Always loved these little FEC parks, maybe I'll hit this place up if I head over to SDC this summer. Also I feel like it's worth mentioning that they gave their Zyklon one of the best names for any coaster ever.
  4. If this isn't peak Italy than nothing is. Nice pictures! This park looks super cool, and Katun looks absolutely amazing. It's like what would happen if Montu snorted a line. Thing looks incredible.
  5. Polly's Into Me - Black Francis
  6. Those trains look like something they saved from DisneyQuest.
  7. I don't really think I've been on a coaster that I'd call bad... at least not in recent memory. I really like rough and intense rides, and a bit of headbanging has never been a problem for me. I don't know, gun to my head, I guess Viking Voyage at Wild Adventures, but I can't think of anything as bad as you people are saying (Like Time Warp, Hades, etc.)
  8. Get back to Kumba next. Then we'll talk.
  9. Scorpion at BGT, second to last row yesterday. The thing packs a punch for it's size.
  10. Boo urns. I'm sure this is gonna be exciting for a lot of people, but a) I can't drink, and b) with all the rumors of a new coaster floating around, I can't help but feel a bit let down.
  11. ^ Nah, he's not from ţ̶̢̨̡̛̝̘̣̬̭̖̺̥̈́̀̍͊̾̒͊̒̄̆̇̔̇̕͜ͅh̷̢̛̩̻̣̼̗̻̳́̎͒̈́͝e̸̡̗͕̣̱̚͜ ̷̧͓͍̻̬̻̈̈͆̽͑̀̕͜͜v̷̝͗͌̀̅o̸̤̤̳̹̫͖͒̋̒̓͌̀̂̽i̷̳̖̩̥̣̝͍̹̟̐͋͌̅̿̃͋͂̓̍̓̆̀͝͝ͅd̵̨̙̬̩̰̠͉͕̅̿͒͂͐͛̑̀̊̏͑͝͝
  12. OH. MY. GOD. I need to get to Cedar Point this year. This looks astounding.
  13. That's a hell of a way to start yourself off. Mine was Space Mountain. First rode it when I was six. It was my first "big" coaster, and it's still in my top 5 to this day.
  14. Go Your Own Way - Fleetwood Mac. One of, if not the, best song on one of the most legendary rock albums ever released.
  15. True story: one of my friends was born in Ukraine and speaks fluent Russian. He tried to teach me some basic words in the language yesterday. He taught me the work "druk" meant friend in English. I wrote down "druk" on the paper and asked, "So it's spelled like this?" He shook his head and started to write. He wrote down the word друг. In Russian that's pronounced "druk". I don't understand language.
  16. Eh, I'll get it when the price comes down. God of War games are all good, but none are worth $60. I'll pay $20 or so in 3 months. Haven't played it yet either, but I do feel like it's worth mentioning it's currently the highest rated PS4 game on Metacritic.
  17. Same here. Yowie wowie, that ride is bad.
  18. I also loved Gwazi pre-Millennium Flyers and I think Boomerangs are severely underrated. So I don't know, maybe I'm just weird. Say what you want, it's still the best wooden in my eyes. I feel like I'm obliged to post a question now, so what's your favorite B&M?
  19. Tim Bergling, better known as Avicii, died at age 28 today. https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/dance/8358389/avicii-dead-tim-bergling This hit really hard for me. The Nights was the song that got me into music, and I still listen to his music on the regular. He was an extremely talented musician and he left us too soon. RIP.
  20. High Speed Thrill Coaster at Knoebels. I know it's gone, but it's too good to leave out of this discussion.
