  1. I do have really mixed feelings about this. We only had one Fast Lane day at the park and only rode it once in the front seat because of the jolty roughness and the awesomeness of Mystic TImbers, The Beast, Banshee and Diamondback. From day one leaving KI I had the feeling I should have given it another chance, back row, holding tight to the restraint. Perhaps it could have been mediocre or even better (which is fully OK for me with classic coasters). Back in 2017 I thought the location would be great for a real intriguing and intimidating Dive Coaster, towering towards the midway.
  2. LOL, the first real lift support is already around the same heigth as the racer It will be an interesting off season for construction cam nerds like me
  3. ^ Well, when you look at onride POVs from Banshee on media day and compare it to how it looks now, you'll see that KI is at least trying to do that job.
  4. As will half the coaster enthusiast. Also, the lifthill is already started as of now.
  5. Seing the webcam today, the many big footers in the back that were placed over the weekend and the position of the cranes, Kings Island may get another almost 45 degree erection soon.
  6. ^ Yeah, I can second that. Also: Not all enthusiasts ale living in the US. There are some other countries on other continents.
  7. I understand your point.. But you DO know, that Orion will be the same length as Fury until the MCBR, and that after the MCBR there's not much track that adds to the ride experience? And truly NOBODY out of the GP, which is over 99% of the total attendance of any amusement park, cares how many inches short of 300 feet a coaster is? I would assume that 90% of all riders don*t even care (or know) how high the lift hill is. So no, it really doesn't matter for CF, KI or anyone besides some (!) enthusiasts if there are 13 feet more difference between station terrain and the top of the lift hill then there will be now. People will come to the park because of Orion. And those enthusiasts who care will come and ride it, too. 300 feet or not.
  8. And it's not even close to the off season..
  9. Some unusual/weird shots of the webcams right now. None of them showing Sky Ride. Looking Raptor under the skirt Down from Power Tower
  10. That's a real cool story, thanks for sharing!
  11. I just found this thread, so I have some rides left: 2012: Wodan @ Europapark 2016: Raik and Taron @ Phantasialand 2017: Mystic Timbers @ Kings Island
  12. ^ What? He's serious! You can clearly see that this coaster will have so many trims that it needs booster wheels to complete the course! They can't be serious! First that ridiculous high break run, then it's too short and now this evidence of typical "new B&M forcelessness"! It's nothing like the rendering. They should have gone with Intamin anyway. And go 400 feet with a vertical drop directly. But nooo, a cookie cutter giga like aaaaaaalllll the others. Nothing innovative. And these colours! They just amplify the forcelessness. I'll never visit KI again until they built something really impressive. They need a poler coaster. Or an Aquatrax, since CP obviously doesn't want to built those two. Did I miss any typical enthusiast complaints?
  13. It technically could be both. The cars on track are Formula One cars from all ages. I definitely saw cars from Senna, Vettel, Mansell and Hamilton. With Liberty Media expading to so many new places, I wouldn't wonder if there are plans to go to Saudi Arabia. On the other hand, it's only a rendering. So it may be only a tracked ride themed to formula one with the tracks being left out of the rendering.
  14. Phoenix - Knoebels I don't think that there is another coaster more metionable beginning with "p".
  15. Limit - Heide Park
  16. According to Tonys Twitter Rougarou is getting a repaint!
  17. Expedition GeForce - Holiday-Park Closest full size coaster to my home!
  18. Anaconda @ Walygator Parc
  19. Just wow.. I can't imagine that being built. But on the other way - in Germany (or Europe in general) a world record breaking coaster (meaning "real" records, not "tallest coaster between latitude x and y") is out of the sight, but they may have the money to waste on that. Looks like a well thought coaster portfolio. The tilt coaster, the hybrid, one or two family coasters and Falcon's Flight. Elissa, put me on the list for that trip!
  20. Well.. First of all: I hate these brake run skyscrapers, too. They are ugly and look unneccessary. BUT: If brake run and station would be upon a hill and had to be that high (because it is on a hill), wouldn't be Orion just an incredible coaster without complaints? What I want to say: This thing is great - and has an ugly brake run. But it's still great. Go live with it and choose to ride the crap out of it or leave the seats for the ones that want to ride.
  21. ^ Save this post and repost it before every coaster announcement, at least for KI and CP!
  22. ^ Technically they could close it now, remove it in january and would be still right..
  23. On the german Forum "coasterfriends" they said that Wicked Twister may be running its final "laps" at September 8th. Don't know how much to give on that information and if it's okay to post a link here. but it would all be in German, anyway.
