Kings Island (KI) Discussion Thread

That's what she said. -
You may wanna check the heights of your kids before the trip and just be aware that pretty much everything at Universal has a height restriction, even the dark rides like Cat in the Hat, ET and the kiddie coasters like Hippogriff/Woody Woodpecker and Seuss Trolley are 34'/36" so a 2.5 year old might be under that. I personally haven't taken my kids to Universal yet cause there's just not that much for them to do there yet. Same thing at Volcano Bay outside of the lazy rivers and kids sections. If you do express pass for yourself and just let the kids play in the playgrounds I'm sure you can still have a nice time, but actual rides for younger kids at those parks are pretty limited. Yeah, like Holiday Park here.. We wouldn't go there with the kids if we weren't directly adjacent in a hotel. So to have a fun day as long as the kids are good with it and hitting as many rides as possible with the Express Pass will do it for us! Thanks for helping us in such a short time. We love TPR for that reason!

Movie Park Germany Discussion Thread

^ Thanks for the quick replies. I even saw that first picture. But I was so sure that I read the words "we get rid of the volcano", so i assumed that they will put away the mountain and make some other building for the dark ride sections. So I thought, this picture was "old" and before the renovation! Okay, and that's what I get to hear when people are talking about the park. Too bad. -

Has anyone updated pictures of the Area 51 ride? I read some tima ago that that volcano has disappeard, but I like to see the new theming. And: How is the park in general? I read mixed reviews, from awful up to "do it if you are in the proximity". None of them said, the park would be worth a single trip. And I'm not sure if the coasters alone are worth four hours of driving. -

Hey there, we're recently planning our Orlando trip in October 2020. As we are attending our best friends wedding, we will be very likely be spending some time at Universal. As we will have two kids by then, one two and a half year old and one six months old, we have some questions: Are the two parks doable with one or two strollers? Are there also rides for kids? How does the baby switch work? How does the Express Pass work? More like Six Flags or more like Cedar fair? Is the water park suitable for kids or should we postpone that to a future trip? We're also glad for some tips you have that ease up our planning. We plan to do two days with Express Passes, no matter how the crowds are, just to have the fewest possible time waiting in lines, even if we only skip ten minute lines. Thanks for helping us. Especially Sarah will be more relaxed if we start planning now. The journey will be very exciting, also because we're planning to travel with a kid that's not even born yet!

They are preparing hard to continue on the lift at the moment. New supports are being prepared in the background as well as between liftbase and the bottom of the drop and there are new straight lift sections on the ground, seemingly ready for assembly. Looks like a bigger crane is all that's missing. -

Gotcha. I'm a bit more skinny than my wife and so I have more room to move with the typical Vekoma/Arrow OSTRs. Typically, if a ride is jerky (Corkscrew @ CP, Double Loop @ Heide Park), I'm easier affected than her, especially shoulderwise. I'm pretty sure if you'd compare the complaints to the different body types, you'd see similarities. I'm still sad to see Vortex go, even if I didn't like it. I, for one, hope they don't replace it with something generic (for CF parks) like another Dive Coaster. But that's just me, as I will visit KI and CP always in one trip due to our big travel we have to take to get there and more uniqueness would do me a favour. But I'm pretty sure they'll just replace it with something that fits their budget and the increase of their local customer counts and give a $hit what the other parks of the chain have built, which is perfectly okay from a business standpoint. -

Yeah, that would be the go. Now I realize how big this baby will be.. I really didn't assume that to be the bottom. Awesome. I wonder how huge it will look in the webcam once it's topped of. -

Looks like another support is going up soon. Also there's already track installed (if it's not just a weird place to store it) -

IIRC it was down every other season for some days because of issues with sensors and/or the LIM's. -

It will be interesting to see if they'll be dismantling Vortex immediately or if it will stick around until they know what to do with that spot (if they don't know already). It would be a funny plot twist if it would stick around for some time until there's a RMC like company using the footers and supports, put new track on them and get the ride some life again. -

For sure, on July 6th 2017 it had frequent breakdowns over the day and was rough as hell in the front row. Head banging galore. One of the breakdowns. Two trains had to be evacuated. Pretty interesting to see. It was done for the day afterwards. -
