Wes will be locking this thread in 3....2....1...

Actually Robb, when I got home from work last night I was going to post something in the Rant thread, and I noticed that the last post was from you about how Apartment hunting sucks. (Then I got a phone call and I forgot to post my rant) So combine "They're building a nursery" + Apartment hunting sucks (you need a larger place) = my above post.
-
Lets see, Robb revives a 4 month old thread that highlights "They're building a nursery"............. Perhaps Robb + Elissa are about to make an announcement (or maybe they already did) that the Ultimate Rollercoaster Enthusiast of all time is on the way!

Avalanche Wooden Coaster At Timber Falls
BelizeIt replied to Wes's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Welcome Everyone! To Round One of the matchup we've all been waiting for! Wes vs. ParkTrips Remember punching below the belt is perfectly acceptable among TPR ASSistants. Now lets have a good beatdown before Mama or Papa Alvey show up to delete this thread. -
The Looping-Slide strikes back!
BelizeIt replied to DragonKhan's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I believe this is an interesting "concept" for a waterslide, just not a realistic one. As others have stated, what if you did somehow get stuck at the base of that loop? Besides, I doubt that any insurance company (at least in the U.S.) would ever consider insuring such an extreme ride design. -
Random(er) Photo TR: Random stuff in my house
BelizeIt replied to ParkTrips's topic in Random, Random, Random
Goddam what's up with your house! Do Monkeys live there?! You've got stuff all over the place! Otherwise, it resembles a "twenty somethings" pad, with empty pizza boxes, clothes laying around, an open box of condoms on the bedside table (of wait that last one wasn't there) There's nothing better than having your own place! -
Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens tried to kill himself by overdosing on pain medication. When asked by the rescue workers "if he was attempting to harm himself", Owens stated "Yes". Owens friends said that he had been feeling "depressed". Depression can affect anyone at any age, from students to flamboyant NFL superstars. Even someone like T.O. who appears to be a very positive/outgoing type "A" personality can be affected by depression. Sadly, people may not realize a friend or family member is suffering from depression until an event as drastic as a suicide attempt occurs. Here's a link www.foxsports.com

Matterhorn Rehab
BelizeIt replied to Guy T. Koepp's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
The Matterhorn has always been a great ride. But I'm not surprised by the rehab schedule, because when your going down the mountain, you get banged around quite a bit. I imagine that creates a bit more wear and tear on the ride, as compared to a smoother running attraction like Space Mountain. -
Knotts: Potential for Greatness
BelizeIt replied to ed_orangeco_cali's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^^Wow KraxelRIDAH, there was an 18 month spread between your post and the guy with the Bleeding Anus! (The Moderators will be proud that people do use the Search Query) I imagine that Knotts has enough room for expansion, even without having to remove a preexisting attraction. The Alveys have shown Trip Reports from overseas where Theme Parks have managed to effectively put in many attractions into a confined space. I believe that Knotts problem (As well as Disneyland) is that they have the additional dilemma of having to contend with the "Locals" who are often displeased at the announcement of any large Coaster/Attraction Etc... Mainly because they don't want to see or hear it. (Hence the noise shields on rides like DCA's Maliboomer) Personally, I feel zero sympathy for people who CHOSE to live near a Theme Park, and then complain about the noise or traffic Etc... -
Activision Video Games Corporate Sales Video from 1981
BelizeIt replied to robbalvey's topic in Random, Random, Random
I remember playing all of those games! Clearly Activision has had it's act together for a long time, they even had The Great Phil Hartman doing Ice Hockey Commercials. No doubt twenty years from today, there will be a special on the history of video games and we'll watch an interview of Robb (Before he left Activision to form Alvey Interactive Inc.) discussing games like Call of Duty 2, and how "those" games were the state of the art for there time. The next 20 years in Video Game development will be a fun and amazing ride for all of us! -
Among the National Chains you listed, I would have to go with CPK. (Their Thai-Chicken pizza is excellent) I can't stand Dominos, Pizza Hut or Little Caesars, anytime your paying $15.00 for three pizzas, you known your getting low-quality garbage. At least with Round table your getting an OK pizza, but it cost a bit more than the last three. For those who visit Downtown Disney in Anaheim, there is a restaurant called Naples Ristorante e Pizzeria. This place had a great New York style pizza, though a large pie started at $40.00! (Yes it was worth it)

Hey l.a.d.n.3.k The movie thread is at the bottom of this page. Why don't you bump it to the top, with your movie line. The current quote that the last person left was to difficult, since nobody guessed it in over a week.

^Of couse you were misguided to buy that awful tasting Coke Zero! I usually drink a can of "regular" coke everyday. (I can't stand any of the diet versions) Like anything else, it comes down to moderation, as long as you mix some of the good with the bad, you'll be fine.

Wow $2.63 for premium unleaded?, I just paid $3.17 this weekend! (Though a month ago I paid $3.47) That chili you prepared didn't look quite as appealing as the picture on the box, Dam those lying marketers! (Hopefully it tasted O.K.) I like how people are always drawn towards those "Healthy" Fat Free foods. But, Fat Free is usually equated with High Sugar Content, and what does your body do with all that yummy sugar that it doesn't use, it converts it to Fat for long term storage. (But at least it helps to keep you warm through those cold winters) I use to own a Health Food Store, and people would tell me that instead of drinking unhealthly Coca-cola, they drank Snapple. Then I would tell them that all Snapple is, is an uncarbonated Coke.

It's hard to believe that it was five years ago, when all of our lives were forever changed. The infamous events of September 11th, unfolded before most of us on television. I myself, like many others, watched dumfounded as images previously unimaginable rocked the foundation of our lives. Where were you when you first found out about the attacks on the World Trade Center? How have the events of that day affected you, or your life? On Sept 11th, I was house-sitting for my father in Huntington Beach. He had an 8:00am flight that morning to San Francisco, for a multi-day business trip. I turned on the television around 7:00am, and watched in disbelief at the airplanes impact, and then the collapse of the World Trade Center buildings. Sept 11th affected my life, by making me feel less secure. Perhaps cataclysmic events, like chemical weapons/dirty bombs are an actual possibility. I also feel we have given up many freedoms through laws like the Patriot Act. But, I also believe that progress is being made against these Terrorists. There hasn't been another major attack on U.S. soil since 9/11, though the attacks in Spain, Bali, and the U.K. show us that we cannot let our guard down. The threat of Terrorism will exist for years to come, but as long as we stay United in a common goal to defeat these fanatics, we will prevail.

^A Beer drinking Wal Mart shopper!? In other words your a Sinner! That's an interesting take on Utah, I've mainly heard about the area from friends/family who have gone skiing there. But, I'll keep it in mental rolodex as a place to go skiing/hiking on a long weekend.

^Hey saturday97, are your fellow Mormons typically a tense group? (No insult intended for assuming what religious beliefs you may follow) From what I've read over the years about the Mormon faith, is that it's a fairly happy and communal group. Even though the Mormons who practice plural marriages, may have to deal with those who may be a bit anal retentive about that part of the Mormon faith. I've always wanted to visit Utah, I imagine it to be a nice place to live.

Alright, I'm sandwiched between San Diego #45 (The land of Political corruption) and Los Angeles#36 (The home of gang violence and crazy drunks, AKA Paris Hilton, who was arrested for drunk driving last night in Hollywood) It's not surprising to hear that when you live in Orange County, that you are surrounded and protected by the "Orange Curtain".

^Hey Wes is that a , the glass is half empty attitude? Remember Fox Sports is run by the Fox Media Empire, who have made it their corporate mission to promote the Democratic "Caring" agenda. I'm sure that Fox wanted to help out a "common man".
-
Nice report, but where's Yang Yang? Is he kept apart from Lun-Lun and their newborn? Perhaps that's a standard practice with newborn giant Panda's.

This Fox story is reminiscent of a beer selling contest at the restaurant chain Hooters. Hooters told their Hooter girls that whoever sold the most beer in the month of April, would win a brand new Toyota. Well when the contest ended, a Hooters rep showed up to congratulate the winning waitress (Jodee Berry) and give her the prize. Jodee was then blindfolded and led out to the parking lot. When the blindfold was removed, Jodee wasn't looking a a new car, but instead a "Toy" "Yoda" doll!!! Needless to say, Jodee was unable to grasp the humor in the situation, and promptly sued Hooters and won!

Joey is Robb + Elissa's unofficial Son, Dan of course would be their "other" boy. Elissa + Robb both have "DIE"-hard feelings for Joey.
