  1. That is interesting. I rode it in October 2011 and it wasn't rough at all! I seriously rode it like 5-6 times the day I was there. Maybe I caught it fresh of a rehab or something...
  2. I am surprised at how many people ranked Disneyland Paris' Space Mountain as the worst steel coaster in the world. Was it really running that bad when TPR went? I mean even worse than Goudurix? I really liked the DLP version of Space Mountain! I thought it was a really fun ride!
  3. Freedom Flyier is looking great! Seriously, the Vekoma Jr. Inverts are so much fun with the new trains! I was riving down I4 today and it really took me by surprise to see a new SkyCoaster just plopped down all of a sudden. I guess I will have to get used to it!
  4. 1. Top Thrill Dragster 2. Raptor 3. Maverick 4. Millennium Force Everything else
  5. The sad thing is, they've figured right. There is no incentive for Universal to push the envelope, take risks, or try anything new. As it stands, they can just play it safe on everything and the event stays as popular as ever.
  6. I actually think I would have enjoyed the ride if it wasn't for the weird train modifications. There were handles bolted to the inside of train, and no matter how I moved my body I could not get my knees from digging in to them. Maybe it's the short people who are looking like they are having fun!
  7. Actually, I believe attractions CMs are trained at WDW to allow a 15 minute grace period.
  8. ^So if the next update will remove Valentine's day, are we to assume all of the hearts we have accumulated will just go to waste?
  9. Ummm.... Alton Towers already has like the best looping coaster on the planet.
  10. ^I have only been to one WCB, but nighttime X2 ERT was probably the highlight for me. I rode like 15 times! My body was so damaged...
  11. ^The train is the only thing I have left to place. I like the Valentine's update, but I wish they made it a bit more challenging.
  12. It is weird to see my town without snow! I was only able to get into two towns though. Cool update though!
  13. ^I seriously love the new trains that Vekoma has on their junior suspended coaster. They are crazy smooth and comfortable! Completely opposite to their terrible predecessors...
  14. That would just be awesome if the top 5 was dominated by Intamin! See... I know that these boards tend to reflect that sort of voting, but there are a lot of enthusiasts that don't like Skyrush and may throw it down low on their ballot. I will be interested to see how some of the ACErs vote. We usually end up seeing some rides rank really highly that most of the TPR crowd doesn't exactly "love": i.e. Diamondback. Another interesting thing to note is how X2 is ranking relatively well on the ballots that are posted so far. We don't hear a lot about that ride, and it's notoriously rough, but it still gets love on the polls.
  15. Steve, do you care to share your thinking here? I know a lot of people love Millennium Force, and I agree that it is a fun ride... but I don't get how people keep ranking it #1. Is it a "I love Cedar Point" thing, or is there something about that ride that you really like THAT much?
  16. ^I have heard several people that dislike SkyRush, so I don't think you are alone. It is an extreme ride, and I think it polarizes people's opinions. You either go "WOW, that kicked my ass, I LOVE IT", or you say "WTF, that kicked my ass, I hated it!" And for those people that dislike it... I say go ride a B&M hyper and be happy in your floaty smooth airtime bliss. I will take an extreme Intamin. But hey, that's just my preference.
  17. It made me sad to have to update the Dueling Dragons lines on the ballot But I'm also glad I no longer have to try to rank all of my arrow mine trains, clones, etc. A few updates since the last time I voted: -Montu has moved down considerably for me over the past few year -Alpengeist and Apollo's Chariot have moved up for me -Even though they all come from different manufacturers, the new Busch/SeaWorld launched coasters all ended up ranking about the same for me. They fell in the order of Verbolten, Manta, then Cheetah Hunt -All of the BTMRs ranked about the same to me, with my preference going Paris, Tokyo, DL, WDW -I ranked the Space Mountains as Paris, Tokyo, WDW, DL (I seem to be the only person who likes Paris'!!) For simplicity's sake, here is my top 25: Intimidator 305 Kings Dominion VA,y,y,1 Skyrush Hersheypark PA,y,y,2 Nemesis Alton Towers UK,y,n,3 Kawasemi Tobu Zoo JP,y,n,4 Phantom's Revenge Kennywood Park PA,y,n,5 Storm Runner Hersheypark PA,y,y,6 Chinese Fireball Islands of Adventu FL,y,y,7 Bizarro SF New England MA,y,n,8 Kumba Busch Gardens Tamp FL,y,n,9 Goliath Six Flags Over Geo GA,y,n,10 X2 Six Flags Magic Mo CA,y,n,11 Top Thrill Dragster Cedar Point OH,y,y,12 Apollo's Chariot Busch Gardens Will VA,y,y,13 California Screamin' Disney CA Adventur CA,y,y,14 Space Fantasy Universal Studios JP,y,n,15 Tatsu Six Flags Magic Mo CA,y,n,16 Hollywood Dream: The Universal Studios JP,y,n,17 Fahrenheit Hersheypark PA,y,y,18 Powder Keg Silver Dollar City MO,y,n,19 XCelerator Knott's Berry Farm CA,y,n,20 Manta SeaWorld Orlando FL,y,y,21 Kraken SeaWorld Orlando FL,y,y,22 Incredible Hulk Islands of Adventu FL,y,y,23 Montu Busch Gardens Tamp FL,y,y,24 Maverick Cedar Point OH,y,y,25 Goudurix and Viking Voyage round out the bottom of my list
  18. Hmmm. they cite this article: http://wfpl.org/post/kentucky-kingdom-lease-plan-hart-led-group-gets-approval-re-opening-targeted-2014 Which claims he is scrapping the shuttle loop and saving Twisted Twins? I really don't see the value in saving such a mediocre attraction, I am surprised that he plans on keeping it.
  19. Well, that pretty much confirms Greezed Lightnin's removal. Granted this article is a "GP" article and may not be accurate... but I imagine he may actually be referring to Twisted Twins?
  20. I'm sorry, but your post means nothing to me. Some things to consider: -Is Ed going to inspect his rides every 10, 20, or 30 minutes? -Of the existing rides, how reliable are they right now? Due to them sitting idle for quite some time, I think we are going to see a lot of Safety Cut-Outs when the park opens. -Is his development budget going to be set to "maximum", "normal", or "minimum." I think we all shudder to think what would happen in a "no budget" situation. -Also, will he be investing in scenery and theming, or just rides? -He should rename the park to "Funtopia"
  21. I think what Disney is trying to accomplish is to ruin the parks for their annual passholders. GRIEVANCE!!! Agreed! As a rule, I boycott all change. I am glad that we have a solid group of watchdogs here to keep the company in check.
  22. Wait... WHAT?!?! So basically... only Ed Hart would be desperate enough to accept this...
  23. This coaster is shaping up to look awesome! Even if it turns out not to deliver an amazing ride, at least it's breathing life into a sort of run-down section of the park. And hey, Alton already has the best looping coaster in the world just across property, so there's always that...
  24. ^LOL, I'm so happy that I can't read ANY of that text! Way to promote the ride! Where's a good CoasterRumors tweet when you need one...
